Sunday..Snow and Sad News

Morning folks...we are back in the grips of winter here in the North East of Scotland...as I sit and type this all snuggly cosy in my big fluffy dressing gown...it's blowing a blizzard outside...so it's back to shanks' pony and better get stocked up with grub for another week or so of being marooned.

Some sad news to share with you all today...I have decided very reluctantly to step down from the Polkadoodles team and it wasn't an easy decision to make...lots of conversations with myself but I feel I have become stuck in a bit of a rut and need to make some changes. I am so going to miss Nikky...she is just the loveliest loveliest talented lady and have loved working with her and the fabulously talented team of girls at Polkadoodles and much to my horror have come to realise that I am not SUPERWOMAN...so it's time for a change of direction in my crafty life and concentrating more on my first love...rubber stamping.
So this year I am going back to what I love best and hoping to do more workshop and demonstration day stuff which is right up my street...crafting on your own day in and day out can be a bit of a lonely occupation so this year I am going to get out and about and meet loads of other crafters...sharing my passion for all things papercrafty is such a joy and a great opportunity to chat with someone other than "The Budster".   He's a great listener...a great companion...my sleeping partner but it's a bit of a one-way conversation.
And for all those folks who live in the Elgin area...I am coming to a craft store near you...the lovely Karen (Mrs Sugar Nellie herself) has asked me to come along on Saturday 13th February 10.00am - 4.00pm to Papercraft Boutique to share some crafting tips and techniques so if you have nothing better to do...come along and join in the fun...I would love to meet you.
Catch up with you all tomorrow for a brand new challenger over at GET FUNKY and I think you are going to LOVE this one.
Hugs Kath xxxxxx

Edited to add:......good news.....big congrats to my lovely bloggy bud GAYLE.....on the safe delivery of her beautiful baby girl....Maya......hugs and kisses to all.

  10. Kath I can't believe you're having even more of the white stuff!! - You'll have to get some skies for you and the Budster, at least you'd be able to do your shopping a little bit quicker then! I hope it doesn't last like last time for you.

I so wish I was able to come to your tip sharing meets! But it would be a very long journey - although a fantastic 6 hours I'm sure! Maybe you could offer a combined skiing/crafting week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Hi Kath

As I said on the DT blog, sorry to see you go.

I know exactly where you are coming form though. My great love is rubber stamping and you are spot on when you say plodding on alone can be a lonely affair.

Venturing into the demo and classroom arena was the best step I even took, it is such fun and you get to meet so many lovely peeps.

Your sleeping partner is like mine and can always be relied upon when it comes to making difficult decisions. Have fun, enjoy and rememebr to keep showing us your inspiration.

  23. Kath! Brrrrrrr -- your snowy picture made me shudder here in Phoenix, Arizona where my dh planted tomatoes today in early spring weather! I congratulate you on your conversations with yourself and wish you all the best as you speed towards new discoveries in this coming year. Your talents are to be shared! I still say you should write a book -- I adore reading your blog.

  24. I have been lurking on your blog for ages Kath . . . you are very inspirational and I'm sure your new direction will make a nice change. Please make sure you get to demo somewhere down South during the year, pretty please! Are you going to be demoing at any of the Craftwork Cards' exhibition stands????

Wishing you all the best in your new direction.

  27. Hi Kath, just catching up after a weekend in Crieff where they have no snow. Met it about Strathcathro and it got worse all the way north! Got to within about a quarter of a mile of home and met one massive drift too many. Only got so far as hubby is so good at getting through snow and so is the Golf lol. Dug us out and managed to struggle on a wee bit to a passing place and abandoned car. Drifts very deep specially when you're only 5'3". Car home today after tractor and snowplough past. And would you believe one of our wonderful posties was in with mail. Hope this goes before you go to Elgin. Wish I could go but I'd need to take a day's holiday and I don't want to push my luck.

  28. Kath, I know you will enjoy your new adventures, even though you are feeling sad about leaving Polkadoodles. I wish I could come to a class by you, I would love to meet you in person and learn from you, but flying across the pond is out of my budget, LOL. Scotland is one of the places I have always wanted to visit, as it is a part of my heritage.
