Simon Says...School/Study Related

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

We also have a special challenge for children between the ages of 2 and 16! CLICK HERE to go directly to the challenge page

and the Monday Challenge theme for this week is...
SCHOOL/STUDY RELATED
I made myself another notebook...this memory challenged crafter is a serial note taker and in this digital day and age where you can ask Siri or Cortana to remind you where you should be and what you should be doing, I confess my preference is still the old paper and pen method...not always reliable but hey ho neither is technology...
I cut the covers from chipboard, applied a coat of White Gesso and dragged Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink Pad across the surface to lightly tint. I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Number Blocks and Numeric with Pumice Stone Distress Ink and the Studio 490 Circle Collage with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black...

I stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera with Pumice Stone and added interest to the background with the Cargo and Bubble Layering Stencils using Candied Apple and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks...
stamped the text from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stuff To Say with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black and the numbers inked with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide.
I stamped the images from Mini Blueprint 8 on to scraps of Distress Watercolor Card with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black, coloured with Distress Markers using the Detailer Brush and shaded around the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide using a blending tool...
I stamped the letters using Tim Holtz Type Lower Foam Stamps on to Tissue Wrap using Candied Apple and Peeled Paint Distress Paints...
cut out and fixed to the background with Collage Medium Matte.
I added Idea-ology Alpha Transparent Tiles, Clipping Stickers, Ruler Pieces and a Paper Doll...
and an Idea-ology Quote Chip...

  2. I am definitely with you on keeping notes the old fashioned way, notebooks never 'break down' but sometimes get 'lost' - lol! The black on the tiles really brings out the red and green and I just love the three images you added across the bottom (love the books particularly). Such a great way to represent the challenge theme! Hugs, Anne xx

  10. Great notebook.
I love all the texture & detail you have used.
I must admit - I prefer a notebook to technology - especially when technology seems to be on a go slow LOL.

  14. Wow! I absolutely love what you did with the cover' background, the washed-out color is amazing and the giant numbers make it so very interesting. The colorful stamping against this vintage and delicate base are so cool. I love the notes stamping and the paper doll of course. Hugs, Marzena!
