Tim Holtz/Sizzix - An Invitation from Mr Bones

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the first of the projects I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Halloween 2021 release. If you missed the Live, you can catch up with all the fabulous new products and beyond amazing inspirational projects from the makers over on Tim's Blog HERE.

I created a very special invitation from the adorable Mr Bones, one of the new additions to the Colorize Collection. He's such a sweetie and didn't want his friends to miss out on this fun party but if you did, you need to get yourself on Mr Bones guest list for the next YouTube Live on Saturday 21 (Stampers Anonymous) by following Tim on his social media channels and clicking to receive notifications.

I began by creating a 4" x 8" DL card (the length is double the width) and covered with papers from the Idea-ology Abandoned 8" x 8" Pad, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and sanded on the edges to reveal the white core. I applied the yummy new Grave Distress Texture Paste from Tim's Ranger Halloween release through the Rosette Mini Layering Stencil from Set 30 and set aside to dry. I printed the wording on the insert from my computer, added shading and more stencilling around the edges and background with Vintage Photo Distress ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed the insert in place along the spine of the card.
I die-cut Mr Bones from white and cream card and fixed in place on foam adhesive to create dimension. I added a witches hat and pumpkin die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Frightful Things and Trick or Treater Thinlits released in 2020. I die-cut the gravestone, assembled and added Grave Distress Texture Paste and Crypt Distress Grit Paste (another new product from the Ranger Halloween release) with my fingers. I die-cut "14" from green cardstock using the Alphanumeric Label Thinlits, fixed in place over where the cut out "RIP" should be and added a gold Metallic KraftStock border. I fixed Halloween Trimmings Mummy Cloth behind the gravestone and Mr Bones using Distress Collage Medium.
I added Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Gold Metallic KraftStock and green card and die-cut the titles for the front and wording in the insert using Alphanumeric Varsity, Tiny Text Lower and Label Thinlits.

I'll be back soon to share another Halloween project, in the meantime, have fun if you are creating spooky makes.

  4. I'm not into Halloween, but I joined in the live yesterday just to see all the makes. You people are A-MAZING! I actually got some ideas for Christmas cards while watching the Halloween live!!! Thank you so much for creating and sharing your wonderfully creative projects! I look forward to reading about the techniques you used for your makes. Thanks, Kath! PS: I do have a question that maybe you can answer: Is the body of the pumpkin head die sized to fit the head of the man in the In the Park (I think that's the name of the die set -- the one with Mary Poppins!)?? It's so hard to tell from the video. Thanks again!
