Christmas Gift Bag - Tim Holtz Make-Over

Hi my friends, I purchased some Christmas Gift Bags a while back but felt they needed a bit of a Tim Holtz make-over so I dug into my stash of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Christmas dies. I know we all like to have the latest releases but don't forget the old favourites you may have in your stash. I used Winston Colorize Thinlits from this year's release along with some of my favourite oldies, Woodlands, Winter Wonderland and Merry and Bright Thinlits.

I began by cutting a snowbank from white card and fixed to the bottom of each bag. I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Distress Watercolor card and the Charcoal and Gold Glitter cardstock from Sizzix Surfacez Opulent packs. I die-cut the body sections of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winston Colorize, the deer from Winter Wonderland and the trees from Woodland, leaving the negative sections of the trees in place, from Distress Watercolor card and fixed to the gift bag. I then die-cut the trees again from Charcoal Glitter card and fixed on top of the white die-cut tree. I die-cut the trees once more and fixed the white negative pieces in place to create dimension and the illusion of snow on the branches. I die-cut Winston's hat, scarf and broom from the Charcoal and Gold Glitter cardstock and his eyes from Idea-ology Black KraftStock. I added dots around the base of the tree, deer and Winston with a black marker, to ground the die-cuts and give the appearance of shadows.I die-cut "Merry" from Gold Glitter Opulence card using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Merry and Bright Thinlits, fixed in place and added Christmas from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs.

The cubbyhole is closed until after Christmas and I've moved to the kitchen to make a start on all those yummy treats for this special time of the year when over indulging and pigging out is definitely allowed but I'll be back soon to share the last of my Christmas makes, including the centrepiece I made to decorate my festive table.

Hugs Kath xxx
