Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
MORE THAN ONE STENCIL
I created a page in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal using 4 of my favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Layering Stencils - Splotches, Mosaic, Digits and Bubble, Simon Says Stamp Wild Rose stamp set, Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette Collection Papers and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Handwritten Vacation and Journey Thinlits.
I began by smooshing Broken China Distress Oxide ink on to my glass media mat, spritzed with water, transferred to the pages using a piece of plastic, added splatters and dried.
I added a collage of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette Collection papers.
I applied Wild Honey and Broken China Distress Oxide inks through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Splotches and Mosaic Layering Stencils using Mini Round Blending Tools.
Stamping on a journal page can be a hit and miss affair. So I stamped the floral image from Simon Says Stamp Wild Rose on to Dina Wakley Blank Media Tissue paper, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, drew around the images with a wet paintbrush, teased the paper away around the image with my finger and fixed the stamped images in place with Distress Collage Medium and my new best friend, the silicone brush featured by Tim on his last Live.
I applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Digits Layering Stencil.
I applied Distress Texture Paste Opaque through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubble Layering Stencil.
Once the paste had dried, I scribbled around the edges of the collage pieces with a Walnut Stain Distress Crayon and smudged it out with my finger. (I know, I should have done this step before stencilling with the Texture Paste, but hey ho). I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Handwritten Vacation and Journey Thinlits 3 times from Distress Watercolor card and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium to create a dimensional page title.
I fussy cut the butterflies from the Tim Holtz/Ideaology Yellow Palette Collection paper and fixed in place with Simon Says Stamp 3D Thin Foam Squares and Distress Collage Medium.
