One More Dandelion Messages Card

Hi my friends, I'm sharing one more card using the Dandelion Messages stamp set and Dandelion die from Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit on a Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink blended background. The May Card Kit has sold out but Dandelion Messages and the Dandelion die are available to purchase separately (links below) 

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", inked the largest image from Dandelion Messages with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set. I used Salvaged Patina, Tumbled Glass, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide inks with mini round blending tools to colour the background, spritzed with water, dabbed with kitchen towel to create the water droplet look and remove excess ink from the embossing.I inked Simon Says Solid Grid Background with Salvaged Patina, Fossilized Amber and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide inks and holding the stamp in my hands, pressed on to the panel to create some tone-on-tone interest on the background.I die-cut the Dandelion die from Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint.

I partially inked the number stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped randomly on the panel

I added 3 layers of the Simon Says CZ Designs Hello die-cut from Distress Watercolor card and Tim Holtz/Ideaology Sentiments Label Stickers.

To finish I matted the panel on to Simon Says Black Cardstock trimmed to be slightly larger and matted on to an A2 white top folding card blank.

3 Cards, 3 Colours, 1 Stamp

Hi my friends, just when I was thinking that Summer might be just around the corner, yesterday's cold, dismal wet weather sent me scurrying back to the cubbyhole to have some fun and brighten my day with Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink Distress Spray Stains and Simon Says Stamp Dandelion Messages stamp set from the May Card Kit. I made 3 cards with Fossilized Amber, Crackling Campfire and Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stains to create bright summer vibes. The card kit has sold out but the Dandelion Messages stamp set is available to buy separately HERE.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to create A2 panels, inked the largest Dandelion image from Dandelion Messages with Versamark ink, stamped in different places on the panels, sprinkled with Simon Says Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set.

I used the same three colours of Distress Spray Stains on each panel but applied using different methods.

On the first card, I sprayed the 3 colours directly on to the panel, dried with my heat tool, spritzed with wate rand dried again to create the intensity of colour you get from the Spray Stains. I flicked droplets of water from the nozzle of the Distress Sprayer and dried.

I stamped the sentiment from Dandelion Messages directly on to the panel inked with Simon Says Intense Black and on to a scrap of Simon Says Black card, inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Simon Says Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed out the words above and below "Friendship" and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte.

On the second panel, I spritzed the panel lightly with water using the Distress Sprayer, sprayed with the 3 colours, let the water work it's magic to blend the colours and dried. I flicked droplets of water as before and dried. I added splatters of Distress Picket Fence Paint and while the paint was still wet, I sprinkled with Simon Says Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set.

I stamped the sentiment on to a scrap of Heidi Swapp self-adhesive Vellum Sticker Paper, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival and again on to Simon Says Black cardstock and heat embossed as before. I trimmed out both sentiments and fixed to the panel.

For the third card, I sprayed the 3 colours directly on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and laid the panel into the colours. I dried the panel and tapped it back into the stains to pick up any remaining droplets, flicked on some water droplets and dried.

I fixed a torn strip of vellum across the bottom of the panel, stamped the sentiment directly on to the vellum using Black Soot Distress Archival ink and on to Simon Says Black cardstock using Versamark, heat embossed as before and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.

I trimmed the panels to 4" x 5.1/4", matted on to Simon Says Black cardstock trimmed to be slightly larger and fixed to A2 white top and side folding card blanks.

Simon Says - Things With Wings

 Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

THINGS WITH WINGS

I made a trio of cards using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Insects, Stacked Tiles Hexagons and Flower Field Thinlits on a watercolour background created with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Vines and Roses and added encouraging messages using Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits and Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor to create 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels, inked the Roses Background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Vines and Roses with Salvaged Patina, Rusty Hinge and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks, spritzed with water and laid the panel on to the stamp, leaving it for a few seconds to absorb the inks.

I smooshed the same inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water to colour 3 panels of Distress Watercolor card. I dried the panels and tapped them back into the inks to pick up the remaining droplets. I dried the panels again and stamped the script image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flower Shop, inked with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink, randomly over the panels.

I die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tiles Hexagons, inked the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed to the panels using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I inked the edges of the panels with Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso Distress Inks.

I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, trimmed into sections and fixed to the panels with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

I die-cut the sentiments from Distress Watercolour card and Simon Says Black cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits and fixed in place slightly offset.

To complete the sentiment, I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text with Versamark Ink, stamped on to scraps of Simon Says Black cardstock, heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White embossing powder-, die-cut with Simon Says Nested Banners and fixed to the panels.

I fixed Sizzix Adhesive sheets to Distress Watercolor card and Simon Says Black cardstock and die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Insects Thinlits

I coloured using Distress Re-inkers and a Distress Detailer Brush and fixed to the panels popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive.

I spritzed each panel lightly with water, sprinkled Walnut Stain Embossing Glaze sparingly over the insects, Hexagon Tiles and Flower Field and heat set until melted. To finish I matted the panels on to Simon Says Black cardstock trimmed to be slightly larger and fixed to A2 white top folding card blanks.

Why Make ONE card

Hi my friends, after my absence from the cubbyhole last week on a bedroom painting and decorating adventure, I've been playing catch up with Salvaged Patina, the latest colour to join the Tim Holtz Distress Family and decided to speed up the cardmaking process to make a set of 4 notecards.

Instead of spraying, stencilling and adding collaged items to individual A2 panels, I decided to work on an A4 sheet of Distress Watercolor card. I spritzed the card with water and sprayed with Antique Linen, Shaded Lilac and Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stains, allowing the water to blend the colours. I  sprayed Shaded Lilac through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dotted Layering Stencil, Salvaged Patina through Latticework and Ground Espresso through Eye Chart. I applied Distress Texture Paste Matte through the Decoart Stencil and once the paste had dried, trimmed the card into 4 panels.

I inked the script stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink, stamped randomly on the panels, sprinkled with Salvaged Patina Embossing Glaze and heat set.

I inked the script from Faded Type with Ground Espresso Distress Archival and again stamped randomly over the background.

I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, trimmed and fixed to the panels using Distress Collage Medium Matte.

I added Idea-ology Entomology Collage Paper

I added sentiments using a selection of Simon Says Stamp Wafer Thin dies, die-cut from Distress Watercolor card, Black cardstock and Vellum and added Idea-ology Sentiments Label Stickers.

To finish I added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint, trimmed the panels to 4" x 5.1/4", matted on  to a slightly larger panel of black cardstock and fixed to an A2 top-folding white card blank.
