AALL&Create Designer Project - Edison Game

Hi folks, I'm sharing my first AALL&Create Designer Project of 2019 using the amazing A4 Edison Game #142 stamp set designed by Olga Heldwein with Border Stencil #61 designed by Aida Domisiewicz. You can check out all the stamps and stencils from ALL&Create, along with a list of worldwide stockists HERE.

If, like me you love making journals and mixed media projects, you probably have loads of scraps of matboard, so I decided to make a dent in that pile and create a piece of 3D Wall Art.
I used the watercolour smooshing technique to add colour to the panel and tiles by smooshing Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink on to a piece of thin plastic, spritzing with water and then laid the plastic on to the surface and rubbed over it gently with my finger to spread the ink around and used my heat tool to dry.

I then repeated the process with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink using a smaller piece of plastic because I didn't want the brown to be too dominant.
I stamped Edison Game on to sections of Distress Plain Collage Paper using Versamark Onyx Black ink
I separated the sections I wanted to use by drawing around them with a wet paintbrush. I gently teased them apart and added them to the background panel using Distress Collage Medium. I placed the tiles on the panel and added Collage Paper to them, matching up stamping on the background.

I applied Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink through Stencil #61 using a mini round blending tool to add interest to the background
popped the tiles back in place and repeated the process. I inked around the edges of the tiles with Vintage Photo and fixed in place using Tim Holtz Mini Foam Adhesive.
I stamped the words from Edison Game on to scraps of white card using Versafine Onyx Black, applied a coat of  Vintage Distress Collage Medium and cut out to create word tiles.
I fixed the word tiles in place with Mini Foam Adhesive and added Idea-ology Alpha Parts.
I applied Distress Collage Medium to my fingers and used to coat Black Eclectic Element Thread. This is an easy way to fix thread to a project. The sticky Collage Medium will hold the thread in place on the project allowing you to fiddle around and arrange it. It also shrinks back as it dries and dries clear and doesn't leave any noticeable residue.
I finished off by adding splatters of White Gesso.

I'll be back soon to share the first of the samples I made for the Stampers Anonymous Booth at Creativation 2019 using the super cute and quirky Funny Farm stamp set.
