Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Glitter - Limited Edition

Hi my friends, if you've just tuned in to the Tim Holtz YouTube Live Halloween Hoopla, you'll know that Tim and Ranger have released a super-sized limited edition of my favourite Distress Rock Candy Glitter to celebrate 10 years of this amazing glitter, containing 4 and a bit times the amount of the small pot we are used to and check out that cool vintage label.

I decided to set up a "glitter all the things" production line on my desk to create my own custom glitter card and paper ready for the Christmas die-cutting frenzy. I applied a thin coat of Distress Collage Medium to Distress Watercolor card, coloured cardstock and Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops, sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter from this big daddy bottle, left over night to dry and then brushed vigorously to remove the excess.
I decorated a gift bag using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Trim A Tree Colorize and Scribbly SnowflakesThinlits, die-cut from the glitter coated paper and card from my fun " glitter all the things" adventure.
I trimmed the Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops/Rock Candy Glitter paper to be slightly smaller than the gift bag and added a snow slope, hand cut from the glittered Distress Watercolor card.
I die-cut the Trim A Tree Colorize Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card coloured with Bundled Sage and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks and given a glitter overcoat, assembled and fixed to the bag popped up on foam squares to add dimension.
I die-cut the star and baubles from plain and glitter card, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added Ranger Glossy Accents to the baubles.
I stamped the speech bubble and sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Cartoons, inked with Versamark, on to scraps of the red card, heat embossed in white, trimmed and fixed to the bag with foam squares.
I die-cut the Scribbly Snowflakes from the Distress Watercolor Glitter card and fixed to the bag using Distress Collage Medium.
Distress Watercolor card with a coating of Distress Rock Candy Glitter presented a bit of challenge for die-cutting the intricate snowflakes but my Sizzix Chrome Precision Base Plate made the task a breeze, as always, the right tool for the job makes life easier.
I added a white Crinkle Ribbon double bow, red thread bow to the gift bag handle and white highlights to the baubles using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.

Buckle up my friends, because this big pot of Distress Rock Candy Glitter has rekindled my love of all things sparkly but hey a little glitter goes a long way and I've come to the conclusion that this big bottle of magic will probably outlive me.
Hugs Kath xxx
