Vintage Christmas

Hello my friends, the weather has turned decidedly chilly here in my neck of the woods. It feels like we are skipping Autumn and heading right into Winter, so I spent the weekend in the cubbyhole doing a bit of catch up crafting. First thing on the list was making swatches for the new sets of Tim Holtz/Ranger Halloween and Holiday Distress Mica Crayons.

I'm also on a mission to use up some of the Idea-ology Christmas Ephemera in my stash from previous years and am sharing a series of Vintage Cards using Christmas Layers and Ephemera, Distress Mica Crayons, Distress Grit Paste and Tim  Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flurries Mini Layering Stencil from Set 50.
I selected 5 panels from last year's Idea-ology Christmas Layers and fixed to Distress Watercolor card trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4".

I rummaged through my pile of Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs, found some left over white rubs from an old pack that contained black and white Christmas sentiments and applied to all the panels.
I added Idea-ology Christmas Ephemera to each panel, along with Christmas Remnant Rubs and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium over the panels. I coloured the white section of the panels with Distress Mica Crayons, Specimen and Fallen Acorn on the cards below, Specimen and Fallen Acorn on their own and a mix of Yuletide and Specimen on the last card, scribbling the crayons on and then blending out with my finger. I flicked water on to the Distress Mica Crayons and dabbed with kitchen towel to create the water droplet look. I  added shading around the Christmas Layers and Ephemera using the Distress Crayons, fading the colour out using a Detailer Brush.
To finish I applied Distress Grit Paste through the Flurries Mini Layering Stencil and matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks.

Happy Crafting and have fun with whatever you're making
