Simon Says - What's Your Favourite Colour?

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?
That's the 24 million dollar question for a lover of the Distress palette but after much pondering, I decided to go with RED, definitely a favourite. I created backgrounds with Tim Holtz/Ranger Yuletide Distress Mica Stain and Barn Door Distress Spray Stain, Stampers Anonymous Cosmopiltan + Lined, Halftone + Rings, Tiny Poinsettia Mini Layering Stencil from Set 54 and Texture Paste Sparkle and die-cut with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Blocks Thinlits to make a trio of retro modern cards.

I began by creating different backgrounds on Distress Watercolor card. I spritzed Yuletide Distress Mica Stain and Barn Door Distress Spray Stain on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and tapped the first panel repeatedly into the inks and dried. I tapped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cosmopolitan and Lined and Halftone and Rings into the remaining ink and stamped on to panels of Distress Watercolor card. I spritzed Yuletide Distress Mica Stain and Barn Door Distress Spray Stain through the Tiny Poinsettia Mini Layering Stencil, turned the stencil over, spritzed with water and printed on to another panel of Distress Watercolor card. Lastly I applied Distress Texture Paste Sparkle on to Distress Watercolor card with a large paintbrush.
I die-cut lots of different shapes from all the backgrounds using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Blocks Thinlits and pieced together temporarily until I was happy with the layout.
Once I had completed two panels that I was happy with, I fixed them on to panels of Distress Black HeavyStock trimmed to be slightly larger.
I created a third panel to use up the left over backgrounds using the small square from the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Block Thinlits to create a frame and matted on to Distress Black HeavyStock.
I added sentiments using Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Christmas Noel Remnant Rubs
I added Trinity Stamps Bubble Blowout embellishment for a touch of festive iridescent bling and fixed the panels on to 4.1/2" x 5.1/2" white card blanks.
If only the camera could capture the magical shimmer and sparkle
