The Crafty Doldrums....

Hi folks...a bit of a doom and gloom "I'm feeling muchly sorry for myself" post this morning...I've found myself caught in the trap of staying up late watching the goggle box...my normal "early to bed...early to rise" routine has fallen by the wayside...the days of 9 to 5 crafting in the cubbyhole are a distant memory...all because of a "nothing on the box" decision one night to revisit Downton Abbey...starting right back at the beginning of Series 1 and oh boy I'm hooked all over again resulting in marathon "watching all the episodes" from each series in one go late night sessions which if I'm not careful could very easily turn me into a serial box set couch potato watcher.
You realise you have a problem when the early morning strolls are now taking place mid morning...breakfast has become brunch...lunch has become afternoon tea and by the time I'm in the mood for supper...I would normally be heading for bed. The old crafty brain is totally befuddled...not a scooby do what day of the week it is and it's time for drastic measures when the powers of deduction have worked out that if today's Friday...then as sure as night follows day...tomorrow's Saturday and the first Saturday of the month means Penny Black Saturday Challenge and DT card...yes gulp...gulp...gulp 2014 is kicking off with another skidding in by the seat of my pants make and sneaky peek...
Time to pull myself out of the crafty doldrums and get back to the long..long list of crafty things on this month's agenda and I may just have the very thing to fire up Mr Mojo's enthusiasm once again...something guaranteed to get me off the late night wagon and back on the straight and narrow...yes it's time to head back into the cubbyhole and have a little crafty play along with Tim and the first of the "12 Tags of 2014"...
Tally ho...see you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  1. Last Christmas I received the DVD's of the first two seasons of Downton Abbey and I had a wonderful marathon of viewing. But I did it during daylight hours!! But you are not alone during the holiday season.. every day seems like Sunday to me!!

  2. Kath, your post made me smile...I was sucked into watching Downton Abbey and was exhausted at work for two weeks straight because I stayed up so late at night watching episode after episode! That's what happens...they should put a warning label on it!!! No worries, crafting will be there when we're ready...I hope! Happy New Year!

  3. I haven't seen downtown abbey Kath, but I did manage my first day of sitting at my work desk yesterday and felt very creative for a few hours but it didn't last, mr mojo got tired far too quickly, he definitely needs waking up lol.
Have a great weekend, your sneak peek looks intriguing.

  5. Hi Kath, you either love it or hate it and I love it, I watch all the period dramas, always have since an early age. Think I must be a bit of a romantic, but never thinking of myself as the leading lady, just a kitchen maid. I'm sure Mr Mo Jo will return once you're back into the earlier bed routine...Trish

  6. If you put it on telly in your craft room then you could do both.......maybe, maybe not... like the look of the sneak peek. Nothing like doing a Tim tag to fire up Mr Mojo. Hugs, Anne x

  10. Don't feel bad, I am a Downton Abbey and Doc Martin addict! There is no hope for me and the scrapbook projects are piling higher and higher! I find myself saying bugger off, tosser and more colorful British slang. I live in North Carolina and they don't quite get it!

  12. Hi Kath

Like yourself, Love Downton Abbey Kath. Got the box set series 1 - 4 including all Christmas episodes for Christmas. I'm in a very similar situation - feeling sorry for myself, can't get motivated kind of mood. I need some sun, not gales. Looking forward to seeing your Timmy tag.

  15. I missed out on Downton Abbey when it first started and then this summer every week day afternoon they were repeated right from the first one and including all three Christmas specials - so got the recorder set and they are now all copied on to DVDs ready for me to watch. Have resisted so far but during February when there is nothing else on (and probably snowed in) I will indulge. My American friend emailed me this week and they are just getting series 4 so she is giving an English teaparty (scones, victoria sandwich and brandy snaps) for friends to celebrate the first airing. How lovely! X
