What's on My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks....the dodgy throat saga is still ongoing but after 3 days of skivving off and feeling a tad sorry for myself ...it's time to get back to work and join in the fun over at Julia's place with all those lovely crafters who take time out to share their crafty desks with the whole world at WOYWW.  The kitting jobs are piling up and they don't do themselves so today is going to be a Seam Binding and Divine Twine Day...measuring chopping and folding...
and all done whilst sitting watching telly...
By the way that is not The Furry Boy asleep at the patio doors...just one of the many cuddly toys which he leaves strewn around the house and for the lovely ladies who will be joining me for a fun crafty day in Perth on 15th October...a few sneaky peeks...

I know it's six weeks away but I'm trying to keep ahead of the game...the supplies for our "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" workshop will be arriving next week...it's only a week and a bit before I leave for Harrogate and the GNPE and crikey only 9 weeks until the Fiskars Workshops at the NEC...the Big Mama of kitting jobs so it looks like I will be meeting myself coming back for some time to come.
Catch up with you all tomorrow

Thanks everyone

Morning folks....thank you for all your lovely get well wishes...I am still feeling a bit pants but hey ho it probably just needs to run it's course and in the big scheme of things it's only a dodgy throat for goodness sake.  I am not the best patient in the world so will probably be wearing knickers of the grumpy variety for a few days.
A special thank you to my lovely buddy Polly from Wales who doesn't have a blog but sent this gorgeous card by e-mail to cheer me up...
And no wonder lots of folks are suffering from coughs and colds...sniffles and sneezes....one minute it's raining and blowing a hooley and the next minute the sun's out. I'm ever the optimist and would love to think that we may yet have an Indian Summer but it doesn't look very promising..does it.   The leaves are already starting to turn to Autumny colours and soon they will be carpeting the garden...time perhaps to unearth a cosy vest..scarf and gloves for our early morning strolls.
But I did manage to drag myself from my sick bed...the sacrifices us crafters have to make all in the name of art...mopping my fevered brow and looking for lots of sympathy...to make this...

Distress Inks...Stormy Sky-Broken China-Chipped Sapphire

it's such a shame that the flittering of Glamour Dust doesn't show in the pics
Hope to be back in business tomorrow...can't possibly miss joining in the fun at Julia's place...WOYWW

A Crafty Tip...

Morning folks....yesterday didn't quite go according to plan...I did manage to have a little play with Andy Skinner's gorgeous Winters Tale Stamp Set....
but I never quite got round to translating it into a card...however I do have a little crafty tip to share.  I love the fence post image and with the use of a black fine liner pen...it's easy peasy to add some fence wire...
it would have been great to have a mirror image to add fencing to the other side of the gate...
but all is not lost...with a bit of a kachink moment and a pair of sharp scissors cut between each post...
and then you can stamp them separately to complete your fence.
But that was as far as I got....the rest of the day was spent on the sofa lounging around in my jammies...to be honest feeling a bit below par...so no surprise then that I woke up this morning with a dodgy throat.   Now I have a choice...look out the big girl knickers and get on with the crafty list or crawl back to bed with my furry hot water bottle and have a duvet day. Considering it is blowing a hooley out there with rain lashing against the window the latter option is looking more and more appealing. Catch up with you all tomorrow and fingers crossed the cubbyhole will be once again in production mode.

Playtime

Morning folks...I think I'm back on track with the days of the week...it's Friday isn't it and woohoo my Penny Black Saturday DT card is done and dusted well ahead of time...is this going to be a new trend....I doubt it...probably just a one-off fluke...
Yesterday didn't quite go according to plan...you know how it is...chores and shopping to catch up on and before you know you're heading for the afternoon but I did manage to have a little play with those yummy paper pads...Prima's Printery and Bo Bunny's Et Cetera and because the cubbyhole is definitely a la Christmas now...a Christmas Card with non-christmassy papers....I'm not sure I've pulled it off...the jury is still out on this one.

and are you wondering who sent this...a secret admirer perhaps....I wish...will tell all later...
Although I do rather enjoy a glass of the old bubbly it's a bit early in the day to be popping the cork...I need to keep a clear head to get all the bits and pieces packed up for tomorrow's class at The Papeterie...I'm prone to forgetting stuff without the help of alcohol...believe me.
Tomorrow promises to be a fun fun day...the Queen of Colouring...my lovely buddy Debbi will be demo-ing in the morning and has a class in the afternoon and I suspect the girls at The Papeterie will be getting ready to batten down the hatches for our arrival.
See you all tomorrow for another Penny Black Saturday challenge.

What a bonus

Morning folks.....woke up this morning thinking it was Friday and what a lovely surprise to discover that I will not be skidding in by the seat of my pants again this week with my DT card for Penny Black Saturday and have in fact gained a day from somewhere....a definite bonus.
The cubbyhole has been on full power...the kitting conveyor belt has been smoking and it looks like we are ahead of schedule....thanks to my order from The Ribbon Girl arriving in super fast time....ordered one afternoon and arrived bright and early the next morning...how that's for tip top customer service.  So once I get my Fiskars scissors working on the seam binding and gingham ribbon....woohoo another job ticked off the crafty list.
After all the mind numbing conveyor belt stuff...I think perhaps it may just end up being a "play day" with the latest arrivals in the cubbyhole...
gorgeous "Et Cetera" goodies from Bo Bunny
scrummy delicious Prima "Printery" Paper Pad
and the boy I have been stalking for weeks.....Timmie's fabulous Picket Fence Distress Stain
and for this crafter who has a fetish for paper...alphabet stickers...chipboard and all things Timmie it looks like it's going to be a happy happy play day.
And especially for all the serial crafty shoppers out there....The Ribbon Girl have lots of yummy Christmas goodies in stock....
and don't forget to tune in to QVC tonight 6pm-7pm to watch the lovely Julie Hickey demonstrating gorgeous goodies from Craftwork Cards
See you all tomorrow

What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...before we know it's the middle of the week again and that means only one thing...it's time to join all the lovely crafters who love to play along with Julia at WOYWW...so what's on my workdesk today...
I'm having a mucky inky canvas play day...
a super quick colour fix.....Distress Inks and Baby Wipes
and then onto the fun bit....playing around with some stamps and papers
just the teeny weeniest sneaky peek...
another cubbyhole "hush-hush" project and before I can continue with the mucky inky fun I have a back-to-back date with the doctor and dentist....OH JOY...so it's short and sweet from me today...now that makes a change from the usual rambling and waffling.
Catch up with you all tomorrow

Kitting is my middle name...

Morning folks...did you enjoy your morning stroll yesterday with The Furry Boy...it's a great way to start off the day especially when the sun is shining...my only opportunity at the moment to catch some rays and that vital Vitamin D because I am stuck in the cubbyhole and will be for quite some time...whirling and birling in a kitting frenzy.
My Hero Arts Christmas Class at The Papeterie on Saturday is prepped and ready to go and if you are booked for the class...the times are 10.30am-12.30pm and not 1.30pm-3.30pm as advertised.  And I couldn't resist another little play before the stamps and inks were packed up...well a girl needs a bit of a fun break from all the worky stuff...

Hero Arts: S5458 Envelope Pattern
S5507 - Florentine
CL459 Merry Christmas Trees
CL540- Christmas Reindeer
Snowflake - Sizzix Die
Martha Stewart Punch
Seam Binding - The Ribbon Girl
Pearls - Hobby House
but it's ever onward as they say....big girl knickers back in place and carry on with more of this...

a sneaky peek for the ladies who are coming to the workshop in Perth on the 15th October

And then it will be time to start all over again for our "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" Christmas Workshop on the 1st October so the kitting hat won't be going back in the wardrobe anytime soon.
Catch up with you all tomorrow over at WOYWW

If you go down to the woods today....

A goodly morning to all my lovely bloggy buds from your bundle of golden deliciousness...hope you are all well and feeling sprightly this morning.   My old Crafty Mum is a tad busy with the old "you know what" so you are stuck with The Furry Boy and I don't make stuff...so no crafty pics today. I thought I would get you all out of those comfy armchairs and take you for a morning stroll to my neck of the woods...hey girls it's a great way to get those bodies loosened up and does wonders for the spare tyre.
But before we reach the woods...we have to cross the road and it's time to look left...right and left again or is it the other way round...depends which part of the world you're in...I guess...
my bunny chums must be having a lie-in....no sign of the little blighters today
 expedition leader
and it's just as well I know the route because my Crafty Mum lags behind lost in crafty thoughts..no doubt
now will I or won't I have a dig around in this delicious muddy hole....perhaps not
or there will be no "I've been a good boy" treat for me...
just time for a root around in the wildflower meadow...

before we head home...

and time for a great big treat...
hope you enjoyed our morning stroll....time to put your feet up and have a cuppa...
I'm off for a power snooze before we do it all over again at lunchtime.
