My Favourites of 2019...

Hi my friends, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and like me, you are probably now trying to work your way through all the chocolate treats you received and trying to make a dent in the left overs in the fridge whilst not having a clue what day of the week it is. However, I do know it's Hogmanay when we get ready to say goodbye to the old year and welcome in a new year and a new decade, crikey, is it really 20 years since the Millennium. So today, I'm sharing some of my favourite makes from 2019

Simon Says - Party Time

Hi my friends, I'm sharing my DT project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you will join us this week to because

and the theme this week is
Party Time
I created place name cards for my Boxing Day Party table

using the Gnome For The Holidays stamp set and the Lil Gnome die from Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metallic 1 and 2 Kraft Stock and Distress Mixed Media Heavystock, coloured with Distress Inks to match the colours of this year's crackers.
I began by die-cutting the base, nose and beard from white card, the hat from the coloured Distress Mixed Media Heavystock card and the body from Idea-ology Classic Kraft Stock Metallic 2
I used a mini round blending tool to add Hickory Smoke Distress Ink around the edge of the beard and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to colour the nose
I assembled the gnomes, added stars die-cut from Idea-ology Classic Kraft Stock 1 using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Swirling Stars Thinlits and applied Ranger Glossy Accents to the noses.
I deconstructed 2 crackers which were surplus to requirements and trimmed the paper to create a panel for each place card.
I stamped the snowflakes from Simon Says Stamp Gnome For The Holidays stamp set from the December Card Kit inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I added Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to the back of white card, die-cut the letters I needed to create each name using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Lower Thinlits, peeled off the backing and fixed the letters in place. So much easier and less messy than fiddling around with dots of adhesive. I finished off by adding the gnomes popped up on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Special Delivery

Hi my friends, the days are flying by and this time next week, Santa will have popped down the chimney with a special delivery just for you so I'm sharing a quick and easy card, perfect for any last minute makes, I made for the Facebook Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas collection. If you missed it, you can check out all the products and inspirational samples on Tim's Blog HERE.

I began by inking the Special Delivery image from Scenic Holiday with Black Soot Distress Archival ink and stamped on to a panel of Distress Watercolor card and masking paper.
With the mask in place, I stamped the holly image from Yuletide Gatherings around the edges of the panel.
I inked the sentiment from Scenic Holiday with Black Soot Distress Archival ink and stamped on to the Special Delivery panel. I spritzed Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray on to my Glass Media Mat, painted the frame and holly berries with a small paintbrush and added splatters.
I added a postage stamp image from a set of stamps I received at a Tim Holtz workshop many years ago, matted on to black card
and matted the panel on to black card and an A2 white card blank.

Simon Says - Cityscape

Hi my friends, I'm sharing my DT project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you will join us this week to because

and the theme this week is
CITYSCAPE
I created a New York Skyline Christmas card for a special friend using the beautiful sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmastime 2 along with an old favourite, Sizzix Cityscape Skyline and images from Seasonal Scribbles, heat embossed with Simon Says Antique Gold.

I began by die-cutting a large circle mask, fixed to a panel of Distress Watercolor card and used Black Soot, Stormy Sky and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Sprays to create a moody sky background.
I removed the mask, sprayed around the circle area with water to reactivate the ink and let it run over the moon.
I inked the sentiment from Christmastime 2 and the snowflake from Seasonal Scribbles with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Antique Gold. I sprinkled the background with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel and heat set from underneath.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Skyline from white and Classic Metallic KraftStock and layered to create my cityscape.
I die-cut a small circle from white card and stamped the house image from Seasonal Scribbles inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Antique Gold.
To finish I matted the circle on to a slightly large circle die-cut heat embossed with Antique Gold, added an Idea-ology ChitChat sticker, added the panel to layers of Metallic Kraftstock and black card and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Into The Woods

Hi my friends, it's Friday the 13th but even more worrying, there are only 11 more days left until Christmas. Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the Facebook Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Collection using images from Into The Woods and the Snowflake Mini Layering Shifter Stencil from Set 45. If you missed the live, you can catch up on all the fabulous products from this release and be inspired by amazing samples over on Tim's blog HERE

I trimmed Distress Watercolor to 4" x 6" and applied Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink through the Snowflake Mini Layering Stencil using a mini round blending tool. I shifted the stencil (hence the name) and repeated with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink. I added Stormy Sky lightly around the edges, spritzed with water and patted with a kitchen towel to create the water droplet oxidised look.
I stamped the images from Into The Woods with Ground Espresso Archival ink on to the panel.
I stamped the background from Lumberjack, inked with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card and restamped the images from Into The Woods.
I tore the scraps to create snowbanks, distressed the edges and fixed them in place so that the stamping on the images matched up.
I added machine stitching randomly on the edges and applied Ranger Opague Texture Paste through the Snowflake Mini Layering Shifter Stencil. I added sprinkles of Stampendous Chunky White Embossing Enamel and heat set from underneath until melted.
I stamped the sentiment from Seasonal Scribbles inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.
I matted the panel on to Idea-ology Silver Metallic Kraftstock and adhered to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. It's pretty chilly here with a chance of our first snowfall of the winter, so I think I will be heading for the kitchen to make a start on the Christmas Cook-athon. I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
