Trust Your Crazy Ideas

Hi my friends, I'm back on board the SS Uncharted Mariner to share a card made from my "making backgrounds" adventure with the latest colour to join the Distress Family.

I smooshed Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide inks by on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and tapped an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card on to the inks, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets. I mixed Crackling Campfire Distress Paint in to Distress Grit Paste and applied through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Elements Stencils - Freight
I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Inquisitve inked with Uncharted Mariner and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxides and the images from Eccentric inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.

I stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dapper, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, on to the panel just for placement and again on to Plain Collage Paper.
I painted the back of the images with White Gesso
I repeated this process with the images from Eccentric because I wanted them to stand out more on the panel.
I fixed the plain collage paper images to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and added Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers, sanded back aroimmd the edges to reveal the white core.

I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

I'll be back tomorrow to share another card also made using an Uncharted Mariner/Crackling Campfire colour combo. In the meantime, have fun with whatever you're making.

Simon Says - You're Sweet

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card made using Simon Says July Card Kit. Can you tell I had so much fun making with this card kit but this will be the last card for now, time to move on to new making and organisation adventures. I used the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist patterned papers, Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Baseboards Window Frames with Distress Crackle Texture Paste and Simon SaysYou Shine stamp set for the sentiment.

I trimmed one of the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist papers to 3.3/4 x 5" and a co-ordinating paper to fit behind the Idea-ology Baseboards Window Frame.
I applied Distress Crackle Texture Paste to the Window Frame using a palette knife and set aside to dry.
I fussy cut the flowers and bee motif from the patterned papers
I fixed the patterned paper panel to an A2 white card blank, fixed the co-ordinating paper to the back of the Window Frame and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I used foam adhesive and Distress Collage to attach the fussy cut flowers, stems and bee.
I inked the sentiment from the You Shine stamp set with Versamark ink, stamped on to a scrap of Simon Says Black Cardstock, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I fussy cut around the sentiment and fixed to the Window Frame with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

To finish I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the centres of the flowers.
I'm rather surprised by two things this morning - the first is that tomorrow is the last day of June already, crikey the last 6 months have flown by and the second is that this gorgeous Card Kit hasn't sold out yet and you know what they say, once it's gone it's gone but you can grab it while you still can HERE.
Happy Crafting

Simon Says - Make Lemonade

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card using the You Shine stamp set from Simon Says July Card Kit. The card kit is still available to buy or you can purchase the individual items from the kit HERE

I die-cut one of the backgrounds I made with Uncharted Mariner, Salvaged Patina and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks using Tim Holtz/Stacked Hexagon Tiles.
I masked off the sentiment from Simon Says You Shine stamp set, inked with Intense Black ink and stamped separately on a panel of Distress Watercolor card.
I stamped the lemon image from You Shine with Simon Says Intense Black ink and coloured with Squeezed Lemonade and Salvaged Patina Distress Re-inkers using a Distress Detail Brush.
I added splatters of Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink, arranged the Stacked Tiles Hexagons on the panel and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I stamped the butterfly image from You Shine and coloured as before with Squeezed Lemonade and Salvaged Patina, adding a touch of Uncharted Mariner to add shading on the body and wings.
I fussy cut around the lemon and butterfly leaving a small border - there are separate dies available for this stamp set but mine haven't arrived yet and the shapes are simple to cut. I fixed them in place with foam adhesive to create dimension.
I trimmed the panel to 3.3/4" x 5" and fixed to an A2 Kraft HeavyStock card blank.
I've got one more July Card Kit make to share with you soon. Have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says - Inspired By A Movie

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
INSPIRED BY A MOVIE
I was inspired by the James Bond movies (too many favourites to choose just one) to create a card to send to a hero in your life. I used some of my favourite craft products from my hero Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous, Ranger and Sizzix.

I began by temporarily fixing the middle sized mask from the pack of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Mask Stencils to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card, smooshed Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I laid the panel into the ink, dried and tapped back in repeatedly to pick up the remaining droplets, always drying between layers.
I sprayed around the moon with water and allowed the ink to wick in towards the centre. I sprayed the Diamonds Layering stencil with Black Soot Distress Spray Stain, spritzed with water and tapped randomly on to the panel to create a monoprint effect,
I stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dapper, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I pounced White Gesso through the Numbered Mini Layering Stencil from Set 2 using a mini round blending tool.
I applied Distress Sterling Foundry Wax around the edges of the panel using my finger, added splatters and heat set. I fixed Tim Holtz Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon in place using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.
I smeared Distress Sterling Foundry Wax on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, heat set, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thin Thinlits and die-cut Alphanumeric Classic Lower Thinlits from Distress Black Alcohol Ink card to complete the sentiment.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Swirling Stars Thinlits from the Sterling Foundry Wax card and fixed the sentiment and stars in place with Distress Collage Medium. I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 white card blank covered with Distress Black Alcohol Ink card.
