What A Day...

Morning folks...it's been quite a week so far and yesterday was one of those days...contrary to what the furry member of the cubbyhole crew with the big mouth told you...I wasn't off on another jolly...OK I did a fair bit of gallivanting...hot on the trail of a vital component of the DIY variety for a crafty project...B&Q was my first port of call...should have known better...amongst the thousands of products they sell...could I find the one little thing I needed and locating a member of staff for assistance is like looking for a needle in a haystack...hardly what you would call a "float my boat" jolly day but the little blighter was finally located in a little backstreet hardware store and all's well that ends well.
I'll now be chaining myself to my workdesk for the next 2 days...cranking up the production line to get those Christmas projects finished...yes Christmas in May sounds a bit crazy doesn't it and you won't be surprised to know that I'm struggling to get into the Christmas groove but I have a plan...I know a man who may well just put me in the mood...who else but the delectable Mr Buble.
There's a certain urgency to nailing those christmas crafty deadlines because...hold on a minute until I cover The Furry Boy's ears...I'm off on another jolly on Saturday...a girly weekend away with my little sis and a couple of friends...oops guess who's going to have a face like a fiddle come Saturday.
But before I go I have mega mega exciting news to share with you all...check out the latest product from Fiskars...launching in the US in June and coming to the UK soon...can't wait to have a play...

And talking of play it's time to cue the music...pull up the big girl knickers and get crafting but first things first...tidy up yesterday's debris...
See you all tomorrow for sneaky peek Friday.

What's on my workdesk Wednesday...

A very good morning to all my bloggy buds...it's your favourite bundle of golden deliciousness at the helm of the good ship cubbyhole today...that part time crew member has skivved off again on yet another gallivanting jolly and l've been left home alone to hold the fort with strict instructions to pop over to Julia's place and join all those lovely WOYWW crafty folks.  WOYWW is 3 years old today...does that mean a party and cake...
So come along in and I'll show you what's on the cubbyhole workdesk today....

a great big  box of sparkly glitter...pardon me but isn't it meant to go on the crafty stuff...NOT ME...what do you think it does for my street cred and macho reputation when I'm out and about glittered from head to toe...
and that's not my only problem...I'm one confused Golden Retriever...SNOWFLAKES AND GLITTER mean Christmas right...but by my reckoning we just had Summer last week so surely it can't be that "running around like a headless chicken" "all hell let loose in the cubbyhole" time of year again.
Just one more job to do before I take myself for a morning of power snoozing...why don't you have some chill out time this afternoon...make yourselves a cuppa and park your bum on a comfy sofa to watch the lovely Julie from Craftwork Cards sharing lots of hints...tips...techniques and fabby samples on QVC's Early Bird Christmas Crafting at 2.00pm...well that's cleared up the confusion...it's official...you heard it here first folks...Christmas is just around the corner.
See you all later

Less Is More Challenge 69

Morning folks...oh no...the weather's taken a bit of a downturn...cloudy and a bit breezy this morning... glorious while it lasted but all that sun turned me into a lazy procrastinator...maybe now I'll get back to concentrating on the crafty list but NOT TODAY. I'm off on a little jaunt to visit my little sis to spread some birthday love with a card (I won't elaborate on the shocking confession that I should be making on that front but I'm sure you will all be able to guess) and a parcel of birthday goodies and then I'm off for a "ladies who lunch" meet up with some non-crafty friends.
But first it's time to share a little bit of cute for this week's challenge over at Less Is More...
RECIPE
NOT A SQUARE
(or a rectangle for that matter)

I took the easy option...no mind blowing fancy shaped creations...just a little something whipped up with some nesties...simples
I'll see you all tomorrow

Sunday's Craftathon...

Morning folks...it looks like it's going to be yet another HOT sunshiney day...no crafting for me today...I'm chilling out in the garden...today is all about relaxing. It's been a busy weekend...Saturday was all about kitting and yesterday I decided to have some chill out time with the grandkiddies but chilled out I certainly was not on the journey there...the air con was having a hissie fit blowing out hot air of the greasy plook variety and if you've ever tried driving on a dual carriageway at 70mph with the windows open...well let's just say you WILL arrive looking as though you've been pulled through a hedge backwards.
I felt as though I'd been in a sauna for hours...was ready to fling off my shoes and flop on the sofa with a nice cuppa but there were far more important things on Brodie's mind...the craft supplies were speedily unpacked and I was summoned to join in the fun of the very first craft club get together...I suppose it could have been worse...I could have been press ganged into chasing a football around the garden.
Crafting with kids is just the best fun...there's no faffing around...open a pack of embellishments and wham bam before you know you've got a whole pile of finished cards...lack of inspiration or missing mojo are not words in their vocabulary and dare I say it...neither is less is more...one of Brodie's "almost used the whole pack" wonderful masterpieces...
I don't know how many times I caught him looking at my efforts disapprovingly.."are you not putting more stuff on your card Grandma"...obviously he's not familiar with the saying "don't try to teach your Grandma to suck eggs" but thanks guys for a fabulous fun craft club day...look forward to the next time.
I'll see you all tomorrow

This...that and the other...

Morning folks...well the glorious weather continues and oh boy has it been HOT HOT HOT...not that I'm complaining but it has been playing havoc with the crafty list and as we speak I'm enjoying my first cuppa of the day outside with only my very vocal birdie friends and the Furry Boy for company...psyching myself up for a "this that and the other" kind of a day...cracking on with those little jobs that I've been meaning to do but for some reason have ended up on the " To Do Tomorrow" list...tell me that I'm not alone and you have one of those too. With "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" less than 2 weeks away...tomorrow has suddenly snuck up on me...
time to make some badges...
 top-up the workshop glues...
the cubbyhole needs a serious going over with Mr Dyson...
not to mention tackling the household chores that are reminiscent of painting the Forth Bridge...by the time you've finished it's time to start all over again...
yes exciting isn't it...a day in the life of this "living in the fast lane" crafter...deadline is my middle name and I need to crack on and get at least some of them done before I head off to M&S to exchange some summery duds that looked great on the hanger but not quite so good on this old "bulges in all the wrong places" excuse for a body and then I'm spending the rest of the day chilling out with my gorgeous grandkiddies but there's just time to share another little project featuring the cutest of rabbits...yes it's WARREN and the gorgeous papers from the "On The Sunnyside" Project of the Month Kit from Craftwork Cards...

Enjoy your sunny Sunday whatever you have planned and I'll see you all tomorrow

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Week 203

Morning folks it's Saturday and time to join in the fun over at Penny Black Saturday...what glorious weather we've enjoyed this week...not a great incentive to stay indoors and craft so thanks to all those lovely crafters who did and wowed us with their beautiful creations for last week's challenge...the winner's been selected so hop over and check out if it's YOU.
As this is the last challenge of the month...we'll be saying goodbye to our lovely Guest Designer for May...the very talented Kelly...thanks Kelly for the beautiful cards you've made and sharing your wonderful inspiration with us all.
And it's a very sad day for the Penny Black Saturday...our lovely teamie Liz has decided to step down from the team after this week's challenge...we are going to miss her so much and I can't thank her enough for the wonderful support she's given to the team and the gorgeous inspiration she has shared with us all every week.
This week's challenge is...
MONOCHROME MAGIC
which basically means using shades of one colour
I decided to go with a colour I don't normally use and it kind of reminds me of those Delft plates...

and the prize this week for one lucky crafter who will be chosen at random and announced next Saturday from our generous sponsors...
FANTASTIC RIBBONS

4 rolls of Bakers Twine of the winner's choice
Now it's time for me to get down on bended knee and grovel...I did pop over and check out all your gorgeous creations for last week's challenge but Mr Blogger was having one of his mega tantrums and no matter how much I huffed and puffed he wouldn't let me leave you a comment...isn't technology just wonderful....oh yes but only when it's works.  Hope to rectify that this week...have a great weekend everyone and happy crafting.
If you live in my neck of the woods and fancy a day out of the sun...why don't you pop over to The Papeterie where my lovely buddy ERIKA will have you spellbound with her Spellbinders Demonstrations.

A great night out...

Morning folks...all work and no play gets a tad boring so it's great when I manage to escape the cubbyhole shackles...forget about deadlines...kick up my heels and have fun and what better way than to join the lovely girls at The Ellon Craft Club for an evening of crafting Tim Holtz style...
thanks girls for a fun night...you sure are a lovely happy bunch of crafters
and who wouldn't be happy crafting in Winnie The Pooh Corner...
and here's what we made...

it looks like it's going to be another gorgeous hot day...a short trip to the shops yesterday left me feeling like a greasy plook...so remember our doggy chums...even a short time left in the car with the windows open in temperatures like these can cause unnecessary distress or worst case scenario...heatstroke which can be fatal.
And if you've popped over to check out the winner of the Twill Tape Give-Away....click HERE
I'll see you all tomorrow over at Penny Black Saturday

Twill Tape Winner

Morning folks...it's another gorgeous sunshiney morning...there's good news...we have a winner for the beautiful Twill Tapes from Fantastic Ribbons...
CHRIS B (61)
congratulations Chris...you lucky crafter
please e-mail me and I'll arrange for you to collect your prize
and the not so good news...it's apology time...to all the lovely folks who have entered the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week and my fellow WOYWW'ers...it's been a technology nightmare...oh yes that awkward sod Mr Blogger is up to his old tricks again....playing fast and loose with my commenting rota...2 cups of coffee and 40 tearing my hair out minutes later...I've managed the sum total of TWO.
But it's ever onward with the kitting for "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" in Perth...
I feel an Al Fresco Die Cutting Session coming on...
I'll be back soon to share some pics from my fun night out earlier in the week

More Vintage Pink and Cream...

NEWS FLASH.....woohoo for all you lovely crafters coming to "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" at Perth...my lovely buddy Debbi has just posted some sneaky peeks HERE...
Morning folks...isn't this weather just absolutely glorious...what a difference it makes to wake up in the morning to a big blue sky and SUNSHINE but the crafty schedule's gone to the dogs...oh yes The Furry Boy was the first to jump ship in the mutinous rush to grab some much needed Vitamin D and I wasn't far behind him.  The cubbyhole is like a sauna come afternoon so it made sense to have a little re-jig of the cubbyhole working hours...mornings only was the unanimous decision ...well who knows how long the mediterranean temperatures will last so we're enjoying it while we can.
Time to share another DT project for this month's fabulous Colour Challenge over at The Ribbon Girls...pink cream and vintage are a match made in heaven and one of my all time favourite colour combos...can you tell I had loads of inky stamping distress fun with a collage frame and some of my favourite products from The Ribbon Girl...Paperartsy and of course Mr Tim Holtz...

See you all tomorrow...I'm off to crack on with the morning shift and then I'll be putting my feet up for some Vitamin D therapy.
