Simon Says - Things With Wings

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
THINGS WITH WINGS
I've been giving some love to some favourite products I haven't used for a while and making cards for a local charity to sell at their Spring Fair. I'm sharing a set of encouragement cards using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Grime Mini Layering Stencil, Flutter and Field Notes stamp sets and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits coloured with Distress Watercolor Pencils.

I coloured 4 - A2 panels of Distress Watercolor card by smooshing Saltwater Taffy, Salvaged Patina and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzing with water and transferring the colours using a piece of plastic. I applied Saltwater Taffy and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides through the Grime Mini Layering Stencil using mini round blending tools. I stamped 4 of the butterfly images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flutter on to the panels, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival. I stamped images from Field Notes to add interest to the backgrounds inked with Kitsch Flamingo and Evergreen Bough Distress Archival inks.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits 4 times from Distress Watercolor card.
I coloured the images using Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and Walnut Stain Distress Watercolor Pencils using a Distress Detailer Brush. I added layers of colour and dried between each layer.
I peeled most of the thick chipboard backing from Idea-ology Quote Chips and trimmed the excess from each edge.
I die-cut the Funky Nature Thinlits again twice from Distress Watercolor card and layered to create dimension.
I fixed the Funky Nature Thinlits in place with Distress Collage Medium, added the Idea-ology Quote Chips, popped up on Foam Squares and trimmed the panels to 3.3/34" x 5" using Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Deckle Edge Trimmer.
I applied Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink lightly around the edges using a mini round blending tool and matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks.

Simon Says - Acetate Overlay Cards

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a trio of cards using Simon Says Lightweight Acetate as an overlay, coloured with Alcohol Inks, the Greetings Trio dies from the Be Creative release and Fruitful Berries die from a previous release. You can check out the fabulous selection of products in the Be Creative release HERE.

I trimmed Simon Says Lightweight Acetate to 4" x 5.1/4" and coloured using Stream, Amethyst, Purple Twilight, Gilded Alloy Alcohol Inks and Blending Solution.
I die-cut the Get Well Soon sentiment from Simon Says Greetings Trio and Fruitful Berries from Distress Watercolor card and fixed to the acetate panel using Ranger Glossy Accents.
I turned the panel over and added dots of Ranger Glossy Accents to the back of the die cuts and fixed to a panel of Distress Watercolor card trimmed to the same size. I die-cut the berries from yellow Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and fixed on top.
I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries and once dry, added a highlight using a White Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. To finish, I matted the panel on to idea-ology Black KraftStock trimmed to be 1/8" larger and fixed to a top folding A2 white card blank.

I created two more acetate panels and used the one on the right for this card, coloured with Stream Alcohol Ink,  Sublime and Envy Pearl Alcohol Inks.
I die-cut the acetate panel using Simon Says Fruitful Berries die intending to use the die-cuts stems but actually liked the die-cut panel better. The lightweight Acetate can be die-cut but just to make sure, I used my Sizzix Chrome Precision Base Plate and it worked like a dream.
I fixed the panel to Distress Watercolor card trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4" by applying small dots of Ranger Glossy Accents behind the Alcohol ink section. I die-cut the Greetings Trio shadow from Idea-ology Black KraftStock and the word 3 times from Distress Watercolor card, layered and fixed to the panel to create dimension. I added a Simon Says Thanks Sentiment Strip, matted the panel on to Idea-ology Black KraftStock trimmed to be 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

I die-cut Simon Says Greetings Trio shadow from a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card and fixed to Idea-ology Black KraftStock trimmed to the same size.
I trimmed the Simon Says Lightweight Acetate panel on the left, coloured with Stream, Purple Twilight and Amethyst Alcohol inks to 4" x 5.1/4"
and fixed to the panel as before using Ranger Glossy Accents. I die-cut the word from Distress Watercolor card 3 times using Simon Says Greetings Trio and fixed on top of the acetate panel over the shadow areas. I added a Simon Says Fruitful Berries die-cut and Thanks Sentiment Strip and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank covered with Idea-ology Black KraftStock.

Have fun with whatever you are creating

Simon Says - Things With Wheels

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
THINGS WITH WHEELS
I created a travel scene in my Dina Wakely 6" x 6" White Media Journal using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Road Trip Colorize, Stampers Anonymous Mini Layering Stencils from Set 28 and 29 with a sentiment I'm sure we can all relate to using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold and Tiny Type Lower and Upper Thinlits.

I began by spritzing Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Spray on to the pages, spritzed with water, moved it around with a brush to create a light wash and dried. I applied Saltwater Taffy and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mosaic and Cargo Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 28 and 29 using mini round blending tools and added a dashed border with a black fine liner pen.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to the back of Distress Watercolor card and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Road Trip Colorize Thinlits.
I die-cut the first 3 layers for the car from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and then coloured the rest of the die-cut pieces using Saltwater Taffy, Lost Shadow, Frayed Burlap and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Idea-ology Black KraftStock, die-cut the title for the page using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold and Tiny Type Lower and Upper Thinlits and fixed in place.  The benefit of using the Adhesive Sheets is that you can lay the letters out, move them around until you are happy with the placement before you remove the carrier sheet and commit to fixing them down .
I fixed the trees in place and added Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs.
I die-cut extra packages using the Road Trip Colorize Thinlits and the lady driver using Christmastime Thinlits, fixed inside the car and added the car and packages to the page popped up on Foam Squares.

To finish I added clouds on the background using the base layer of the exhaust die from Road Trip Colorize and splatters of White Gesso.
