Flower Happy Threesome

Happy Friday my friends, can you believe it's the last day of June, already we are halfway through another year. We've already had the longest day which means, before too long, the nights will be drawing in and before you know, we'll be making again for Halloween and Christmas. But back to the present and the three cards I made with the Flower Happy stamp set from Simon Says Flower Happy July Card Kit and the pack of Green Meadows Mini Pawsitively inks from the Out Of This World release. The card kit is still available to purchase at time of writing this post or you also have the option of buying individual items from the kit HERE.

I created three simple notecards using the same ink colours, inspired by the flowers in my garden which have been enjoying the hot sunshine weather and the much needed intermittent heavy rain showers.

I trimmed a panel of Distress Watercolor card to 3.1/4" x 4.1/2", coloured around the edges with the Celery and Sprout Pawsitively Saturated mini ink cubes from Simon Says Green Meadows 6 pack, using Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes, spritzed with water and dried. I fixed a strip of the Bo Bunny Brighton patterned paper from the kit diagonally across the bottom of the panel.
I stamped one of the images from the Flower Happy stamp set, inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and Sprout Pawsitively Saturated ink, the sentiment and flower centres with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
I added twine around the panel around the panel, tied in a bow and matted the panel on to Distress Watercolor card trimmed to 4" x 5.1/4" popped up on strips of foam to create dimension.

I smooshed Celery and Sprout Pawsitively Saturated Mini ink cubes on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, picked up on a piece of plastic packaging and pressed on to a 3.1/4" x 4.1/2" panel of Distress Watercolor card to create a subtle light background.
I stamped the flower image repeatedly over the panel inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and stamped the sentiment and flower centres using Simon Says Intense Black ink. I applied Field Pawsitively Saturated ink through Simon Says Square Dance Stencil using a Detail Round Blending Brush, just to add a little interest to the background.

I inked the leaf images with Celery and Sprout Pawsitively Saturated inks and stamped randomly to create an all over background,
I stamped the flowers, inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, the stems with Celery, Field and Sprout Pawsitively Saturated inks and the sentiment and flower centres with Simon Says Intense Black ink. I stamped a row of the smalles flower images to ground the stems.

I decorated the panels with Trinity Stamps Creamy Vanilla Hearts Sprinkles, added Foam Strips to the panels to create dimension and matted on to A2 white card blanks.

Have a great weekend, whatever you are planning

Ethereal in Blue - Card 2

Hi my friends, I'm back to share the 2nd card I made using the fall out pieces from yesterday's adventure with Simon Says Mid Century Ethereal Plate and Etched Berry Branch along with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Creative Blocks and Note Quotes.

After stamping a panel of Distress Watercolor card with the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Creative Blocks and die-cutting with the Mid Century Ethereal Plate, I temporarily fixed the panel to another panel of Distress Watercolor card, removed the backing from the fall out pieces and fixed back into the negative spaces. You can find more details how I got to this stage HERE.

I die-cut Simon Says Etched Berry Branch from Distress Watercolor card, coloured the leaves with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink using a Simon Says Round Detail Blending Brushand fixed to the panel using small foam squares. I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink, stamped the circle image and sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes, inked with Simon Says Intense Black, fussy cut and fixed to the panel with foam squares.
I matted the panel on to a 4.1/2" x 5.3/4" white card blank added Trinity Stamps Something New Iridescent Pearls to the berries.

But the gorgeous Simon Says Stamp Flower Happy July Card Kit is also sitting on my workdesk and calling my name, so it's time to move on.

Have Fun with whatever is sitting on your craft desk

Ethereal in Blue Card

Hi my friends, I'm back to share one of the "two for the price of one" cards made using Simon Says Mid Century Ethereal Plate from the recent Out Of This World release, along with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Creative Blocks and Simon Says Make A Wish and Etched Berry Branch dies.

began by attaching Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to the back of an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card. I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Creative Blocks randomly with Faded Jeans, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks, laid the panel on to the stamp and transferred the ink using a brayer. I added shading on the panel and around the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and die-cut using Simon Says Mid Century Ethereal Plate.
I temporarily attached the die-cut panel to another panel of Distress Watercolor card, removed the backing from the fall out pieces and popped back into the corresponding negative spaces.
the result - two backgrounds ready to be made into cards which are reminiscent of beautiful Delft China
But back to the first card. I removed the backing from the die-cut panel and fixed to a 4.1/2" x 5.3/4" white card blank, added shading on the background with Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools, added splatters of water and dried.
I die-cut Simon Says Make A Wish from Distress Watercolor card, coloured the shadow section with Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks, die-cut the word twice more, layered to create dimension, fixed to the shadow section and adhered to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut Simon Says Etched Berry Branch twice from Distress Watercolor card, coloured the berries with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink using Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brush.
I fixed the Etched Berry Branch die-cuts to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte, tucking them under the sentiment die-cut, added Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries and Trinity Stamps Something New Iridescent Pearls on the leaves.

I'll be back tomorrow to share the other "two for the price of one" card. In the meantime, have fun with whatever you are making.

Funky Flower Shaker Card

Hi my friends, I'm having lots of fun, playing catch up with more of the new products from Simon Says Stamp Out Of This World release and you can check out the amazing stamps, dies, embossing folders, stencils and accessories HERE.

I made a Funky Flower Shaker Card using Simon Says Mid Century Ethereal Plate from the release, the CZ Designs Hello die which is an old favourite and a sheet of the Bo Bunny Brighton 6" x 8" patterned paper from the Flower Happy July Card Kit.

I die-cut the Simon Says Mid Century Ethereal Plate 6 times from white cardstock, layered together and fixed to a panel of Bo Bunny Brighton patterned paper from the Flower Happy July Card Kit and filled each well with sequins.

I die-cut the Mid Century Ethereal Plate again, backed with acetate, fixed on top and matted on to a white card blank covered with Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf cardstock.

I die-cut the CZ Designs Hello die word twice from white cardstock and once from the Bo Bunny patterned paper and the Hello shadow die from the Green Leaf cardstock.
After all that die-cutting, I had a mountain of shapes on my workdesk
which I used to create a flower. I trimmed the Green Leaf card to create the flower stem, die-cut the leaf shape from the Bo Bunny Brighton patterned paper and coloured the other shapes with Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks to create the flower head. I adhered the leaves and flower head to matching left over shapes to create dimension, fixed to the card with Distress Collage Medium and added the die-cut Hello.

Simon Says - Vacation

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
VACATION
I created a cover for a travel notebook inspired by an intrepid adventurer off on vacation. I used a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Baseboard Doll, Stampers Anonymous Numeric Mini Layering Stencil, Sizzix Stacked Circles Thinlits, Baggage Claim BigZ die, Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper and Theories Quote Chips.
I began by adding Idea-ology Ephemera Snippets and strips of Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card. I applied Distress Texture Paste Opaque through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Numbers Mini Layering Stencil from Set 7 on to Distress Watercolor card and once the paste had dried, die-cut using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Circles Thinlits. I fixed the circles to the panel and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium over the entire panel. I coloured the circles and areas of the panel with Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain Distress Crayons, blending the colours out with my finger.
I die-cut the suitcases from Distress Cracked Leather Cardstock, coloured with Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stains using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Baggage Claim BigZ die, added the handles and corners die-cut from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and Metallic KraftStock and fixed to the panel with foam squares to create dimension. I coloured the Baseboard Doll using Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Crayons and a Distress Detailer Brush, fixed in place with foam squares and added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint over the panel.
I applied the Distress Embossing Dabber around the edges of Idea-ology Theories Quote Chips, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Glaze, heat set, added Idea-ology Hardware Heads and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I added Labeled Remnant Rubs, covered the front of the shop bought notebook with Distress Black HeavyStock and added the panel.
