Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
The first challenge of the month means that the Design Team are showcasing products from one particular brand/designer and this month we are all using the fabulous products from Tim Holtz. You don't have to use them to join in the challenge but if you have Tim's products in your stash, we would love to see how you use them,
We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Kerry aka Kelly's Papercraft as our Designer In The Spotlight for June and if you pop over to her blog, you will be in for a treat.
The theme for this week is...
NOT A CARD
I created a piece of wall art using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Facades and Floral Trims, Sizzix Cobblestone 3D Texture Fade, BrushStroke Flowers 1 Thinlits and Idea-ology Transparent Layers, Quote Chip Labels and Bouquet Findings.
I applied two coats of Salvaged Patina Distress Paint to the Etcetera Facade and once dry, applied a skippy coat of White Gesso using the small Distress Brayer. I inked one of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Trims images with Black Soot Distress Archival and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly over the facade. I applied Distress Texture Paste Opaque through the Dot Fade Mini Layering Stencil from Set 46. I love how I can spread myself out on the Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Media Surface Mat using different mediums and then clean everything up when I'm done.
I embossed a panel of vellum using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cobblestone 2 - 3D Texture Fade and rubbed the Antique Linen and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink pads over the raised detail.
I fixed the vellum panel on the back of the Etcetera Facade using strong double sided adhesive and added a panel of Distress Watercolor card, trimmed to size, to finish off the back of the hanger. I added a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Transparent Layer, held in place with small dots of Ranger Glossy Accents.
I die cut leaves from two shades of brown Idea-ology Classic KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix BrushStroke Flowers 1 Thinlits.
I fixed the leaves in place with Distress Collage Medium and added Idea-ology Bouquet Findings, lightly tinted with Antique Linen and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks. I smooshed the ink pads on to my Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Surface Media Mat, spritzed with water and tapped the flowers into the inks and dried. To finish, I added splatters of White Gesso and an Idea-ology Quote Chip Label, popped up on foam squares to add dimension.
Why don't you pop over to the Monday Challenge Blog and check out the amazing creations from my very talented Design Team mates and as always you have until Monday 8am Ohio time...1pm UK time...2pm CET to join in with the chance to win a $25 voucher to spend online at Simon Says Stamp
