Simon Says - Feminine

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
FEMININE
I created cards with a feminine theme using 49andMarket Spectrum Gardenia Classic papers for the backgrounds, Sizzix/49andMarket Painted Pencil Butterflies stamps and dies and Hello You Sentiments, decorated with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Boutique Thinlits and Idea-ology Snapshots Vol 2.
I trimmed papers from 49andMarket Spectrum Gardenia Classic Collection to 3.1/2" x 6" and fixed to white card blanks covered with Distress Black HeavyStock.
I stamped the splatter and dots image from Sizzix/49andMarket Hello You Sentiments stamp set, inked with Peeled Paint and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide inks and Black Soot Distress Archival ink.
I die-cut the doily 3 times from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Boutique Thinlits.
I die-cut the frame using the Vault Boutique Thinlits from Distress Black HeavyStock and the photos from Ideaology Snapshots Vol 2 to fit the frames.
I fixed the doilies to the card panels with Distress Collage Medium and added the frames and photos.  I die-cut the frames again from Distress Grey Two Tone Woodgrain card and fixed on to the original frames slightly offset to create a shadow.
I stamped the sentiments from Sizzix/49andMarket Hello You Sentiments stamp set, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink on to the card panels. I also stamped the sentiments on to Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Distress Embossing ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder, heat set, trimmed and fixed to the panels with Distress Collage Medium.
To create the butterflies, I spritzed the solid image butterfly from Sizzix/49andMarket Painted Butterflies stamp set with water, dipped the Peeled Paint Distress Watercolor Pencil in water, scribbled the colour over the stamp, stamped on to Distress Watercolor card and dried. I repeated with the second layering image also coloured with the Peeled Paint Distress Watercolor Pencil. I stamped the third layering stamp, coloured with the Wilted Violet Distress Watercolor Pencil and dried. To finish I stamped the outline image on top, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink. I played around with a combination of the two colours to create 3 butterflies.
I die-cut the butterflies with the die that is included with the stamps and fixed to the panel with Simon Says Black foam squares to create dimension.

Sizzix + 49andMarket

Hello my friends, Sizziz and 49andMarket have come together and released a fabulous collection of stamps and dies which are right up my mixed media street and combined with 49andMarket Spectrum Gardenia Classic papers as ready made backgrounds, I had a fun time creating a trio of easy peasy, quick to make, encouragement cards.

I used 49andMarket Spectrum Gardenia Classic 6" x 8" papers trimmed to 3.3/4" x 5.1/4" and stamped the images from Painted Pencil Butterflies 666634, die-cut with the dies included with the stamp set and stamped the sentiments from the Hello Sentiments stamp set 666630

I'll be back soon to share more makes with other products from the release. Have fun with whatever you're making.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Abstract Florals

Hello my friends, I'm back to share a trio of cards I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous new stamps and stencils using Abstract Florals. I love the bold statement these beautiful images make on a card and decided to keep the background fairly simple using Alcohol Inks.

I trimmed Ranger White Yupo to create 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels, stamped the images and sentiments from Abstract Florals, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink, sprinkled with Ranger Black Embossing Powder and heat set. The Yupo is a plastic substrate and is prone to warping when heated, so I made sure my heat gun was good and hot and kept it moving until the powder melted.
I added drops of Dijon and Moss Alcohol inks with a little Blending Solution to the felt pad on a Mini Round Blending Tool and pounced on to the panels.
I matted the panels on to Distress Black HeavyStock trimmed 1/8" larger and added dots to mimic the dots around the images using a Sakura Black Glaze Pen.
To finish I matted the panels on to top and side folding A2 white card blanks.

Simon Says May Card Kit - Thank You

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card with the products from Simon Says Stamp Celestial Wishes May Card Kit using the Celestial Wishes stamp set and Warm Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems. You can check out the contents of the kit or if you wish, purchase individual items from the kit HERE.

This was such an easy quick one layer card that I forgot to take step-by-step photos during the making process. I trimmed Neenah 110lb white card included in the kit to 4" x 5.1/4", stamped the large leaf image from the Celestial Wishes 6" x 8" stamp set repeatedly down the left side of the panel, inked with Celery, Pearfection and Field Pawsitively Saturated Inks from the Green Meadows Mini Ink Cube set. I spritzed the stamp each time with water before stamping to create a watercolour effect.
I stamped the dragonfly and sentiment from the stamp set, inked with Simon Says Intense Black Ink, smooshed Pearfection and Field Mini Ink Cubes on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and added splatters.
I smooshed the Pearfection and Terracotta Pawsitively Saturated Mini Ink cubes on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and used a small watercolour brush to colour the dragonfly.
I added the gold gems from the Warm Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems, also included in the kit.

To finish I matted the panel on to Simon Says Green Leaf cardstock trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 White card blank.
Have fun with whatever you are creating.

Tim Holtz Curiosity Shop - Her Notebook

Hello my friends, I'm back to share the Her version of the notebook from an earlier post using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop and Wheel and Labels Layering Stencils.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create the covers for the notebook, coloured with a light wash of Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink and applied Scorched Timber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink through the Wheel Layering Stencil using a Tiny Blending Tool.
I repeated the process with the Labels Layering Stencil using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.
I inked the number strip from Curiosity Shop with Peeled Paint Distress Archival and holding the stamp in my hand, stamped randomly over the background.
I stamped the typewriter, label and sentiment from Curiosity Shop on what will be the front cover of the notebook, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor with the same light Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Wash, stamped the label and sentiment, inked with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and over-stamped the four leaf clover, inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.
I cut a slit in the panel above the typewriter with Tim Holtz Craft Knife, fussy cut the stamped label and tucked it into the slit.
I fussy cut the rest of the labels and fixed to the back cover of the notebook with Distress Collage Medium.
To finish I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint and fixed strips of Idea-ology Design Tape to cover the spine of the notebook
I'll be back soon to share more makes with this amazing release.

Simon Says - It's Up In The Air

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
IT'S UP IN THE AIR
I created a floral card using lots of favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous products - Abstract Florals/Faded Type stamps and Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 59 and 60. I added a Tim Holtz/Sizzix BrushStroke Butterfly as the It's Up In The Air element and film strips from Vault Picture Show. I finished with a sentiment from Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4.3/4" x 6.3/4" and coloured the background with Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks. I added interest to the background with the Spots and Deco Floral Mini Layering Stencils from Set 59 and 60 using Rusty Hinge and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks applied with Distress Tiny Blending Tools.
I stamped the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type randomly on the background, inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink.
I stamped the flower and leaf from Abstract Florals on to the panel and then on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I coloured the images with Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire and Salvaged Patina Distress Watercolor Pencils using a Distress Detail Brush.
I fussy cut the flower and leaf and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and foam squares under the flower head and added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint to the background.
I die-cut the film strips from Distress Black HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Picture Show Thinlits and brayered with Rusty Hinge and Lost Shadow Distress Paints. I coloured the Idea-ology Ephemera circle with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge Embossing Glaze and heat set. I fixed the film strips and Idea-ology Organic Layers Ephemera in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix BrushStrokes Butterfly from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Rusty Hinge and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide inks, added the body die-cut from Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed in place with foam squares to create dimension. Before I added the flower and the butterfly to the panel, I sprinkled them randomly with Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set from underneath to add a little texture.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Tiny Text on to a scrap of Distress Black HeavyStock, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder, heat set and fixed in place with foam squares.
To finish I inked around the edge of the panel with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool, matted the panel on to Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
