Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND
I created a bold and bright page in my Dylusions Small Media Journal Page. I used the numbers image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop, Deco Leaf and Spots Layering Stencils with Distress Oxide inks and Distress Grit Paste to make a funky background. I added TimHoltz/Stampers Anonymous Abstract Florals coloured with Distress Watercolor Pencils and used Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower Thinlits for the title.
I began by applying a light coat of White Gesso to the journal pages, inked through the Deco Leaf Layering Stencil with Saltwater Taffy and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools. I repeated with Spots Layering Stencil and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink. I inked the numbers stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and holding the stamp in my hand, stamped randomly on the pages. I created small circles on the pages using a Scorched Timber Distress Watercolor Pencil with the Spots Mini Layering Stencil from Set 59.
I aligned the Deco Leaf Layering Stencil with the original stencilling and applied Distress Grit Paste randomly on the pages.
I stamped the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Abstract Florals on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, sprinkled with Ranger Fine Detail Black Embossing Powder and heat set.
I coloured the images using Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Peacock Feathers Distress Watercolor Pencils and a Detailer Water Brush.
I fussy cut the images to leave a small white border and fixed to the page using Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the title from Distress Black HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretched Lower Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I fixed a section torn from a dictionary page to white card, stamped the blank label from Curiosity Shop, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, coloured with a Mustard Seed Distress Watercolor Pencil and Detailer Water Brush and trimmed and fixed below the title.
To finish I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint.
