AALL&Create - Her Own Skin

Hi folks, woohoo it's Friday and I'm back to share another card sample I made for the ALL&Create stand at the Creative World Trade Show in Frankfurt using another of the new release stamp sets, Her Own Skin #175 designed by Kaitlin Paltridge and Stencil #49 designed by Olga Heldwein
I trimmed Distress Watercolor Card to measure 4.1/2" x 6.1.2", diluted Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Reinker with water and painted randomly in the centre of the panel. I applied Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink through the A4 Rota Vitae Stencil #49 using a mini round blending tool and also added shading to the edges of the panel. I stamped the image and sentiments from the stamp set on to scraps of Distress Watercolor Card with Versafine Onyx Black ink and fussy cut. I coloured the body with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Reinker using a Distress Detailer Brush to fade out the colour. I applied two coats of Distress Collage Medium Vintage to the sentiments, cut the large sentiment into strips and used a Black Brush Marker to darken the edges. I fixed the large sentiment to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte and popped the body image and bottom sentiment up on mini foam adhesive to create dimension
I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
And on the subject of skin, I'll be scrubbing and buffing up mine ready for a fun trip on the silly o'clock Monday morning flight to Birmingham to meet up with my lovely very special crafty chums at the Stitches Trade Show at the NEC. I can't wait to spend some time with like minded friends and I wonder what shenanigans we will get up to this time around.
Have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and I'll leave you with a little sneaky peek.

Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx

AALL&Create - A Romantic Trip To The Cinema

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone. Are you sitting opening sackfuls of mail, NO, me neither, although they have probably just been delayed in the mail but I did get a big slobbery kiss from my adorable Furry Valentine this morning, so that will do me. You may be planning a romantic Valentine treat tonight, dinner for two, a trip to the cinema or a "I should be so lucky" weekend flight to Paris which leads me on to another card sample I made for the AALL&Create stand at the Creative World Trade Show in Frankfurt using another of the new release stamp sets, Cinema #176 designed by Aida Domisiewicz
I trimmed grey linen cardstock I had in my stash to measure 4.1/2" x 6.1/2", stamped the image from On The Record #125 with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I sanded around the edges of the panel to reveal the linen texture of the card and applied Ranger Opaque Texture Paste through Stencil #23 Pattern

I stamped the postcard image from On The Record #125 on the background using Versafine Onyx Black and the images and sentiments from the Cinema stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black on to a scrap of white card and brushed on a coat of Distress Collage Medium Vintage. I fussy cut the images, fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte and popped the Eiffel Tower image up on mini foam adhesive to create dimension.
I darkened the edges of the panel using a Black Brush Marker and matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
I'll be back tomorrow to share another sample, in the meantime, I'm shutting up the cubbyhole for the day and looking forward to meeting a lovely crafty friend for lunch, coffee and lots of catch-up chat. Have fun whatever you have planned.

AALL&Create - Keep Your Balance

Hi folks, today I'm sharing a card I made as a sample for the AALL&Create stand at the recent Creative World Trade Show in Frankfurt using one of the new release Border stamp sets, Balance #167 designed by Olga Heldwein featuring super cute mice precariously balancing on a chunk of cheese.
I trimmed a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Card to measure 4" x 8", stamped the image in the centre using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I diluted Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Reinker with water and applied of wash over the background. I added Ranger Opaque Texture Paste through Lotza Dotz Stencil #39 designed by Autour DeMwa. I stamped the image again on to Strathmore Bristol Smooth Card, fussy cut the two larger mice, coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and fixed over the original image using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint using a Distress Splatter Brush and stamped the sentiments from the stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on to scraps of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card.
I matted the panel on to a black card blank measuring 4.1/2" x 8.1/2"
I'll be back tomorrow to share another sample, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are creating.

AALL&Create Design Team Project - Travel Journal

Hi folks, I'm sharing this week's Design Team project for AALL&Create which is a travel journal decorated with Tropical Vibes #141 designed by Bipasha BK and English Postcard #111 designed by Olga Heldwein and Stencils #21 and #42 designed by Aida Domisiewicz and Autour DeMwa.

and I'll let you into a little secret. I think I'm a bit of a gypsy at heart because I've always had a hankering to pack a few essentials and hit the open road, no planned route, just tootling along, taking in the view and stopping when the mood takes me and what cooler mode of transport than a camper van and a red one at that. Anyone fancy joining me?
So let's get started. I trimmed two pieces of matboard to measure 8" square and covered with Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements fabric, I think from the Correspondence collection, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I mitred the corners, folded over to the reverse and covered with white cardstock trimmed to 7.3/4" square.
I applied a light coat of White Gesso to the covers leaving a border of the fabric showing around the edge.
I inked the whole English Postcard A4 stamp and the Camper Van image from Tropical Vibes with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and stamped on to Ideaology Plain Collage Paper.
I flipped the paper over and painted the images from behind with Distress Paints
I drew around each of the images with a wet brush, teased the paper apart with my fingers, brushed Distress Collage Medium Matte on to the cover, placed the images down and brushed over them to fix them in place.
I added the left over images to the inside of the front cover.
I applied Distress Grit Paste through Stencil #42 Travelers' Notes and Stencil 21,
and added Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Tape Chatter
.I inked the wording on the camper van section with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamped on to a scrap of white card, fussy cut and fixed over the original. I used my Cinch to bind the journal and I'm all set for that camper van adventure.

Simon Says - Typography

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
TYPOGRAPHY
definition: the study of the design of typefaces and the way in which the type
is laid out on a page to achieve the desired visual effect

I created a Vintage Sepia look page in my Dina Wakley Media Journal using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Word Play Bigz die for the wording and to add texture to the background.

I die-cut lots of letters from scraps of white card using Tim Holtz Word Play Bigz die and fixed them to the Cotton Rag Watercolor pages using Dina Wakley Clear Gesso.  I then applied a coat of Clear Gesso over both pages to seal the surface ready to have some fun with paint.
I spritzed the pages generously with water and dabbed on Antique Linen Distress Paint and let the water work it's magic and move the paint around. I dried the pages and repeated the process with Frayed Burlap Distress Paint.
I spritzed the pages with Hickory Smoke Spray Stain and tilted the journal to let the stain run into the crevices of the letters. I dried and spritzed again in places until I was happy with the background.
I inked the camera image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Inventor 8 with Black Soot Archival and stamped on to Idea-ology Plain Collage Paper.
I drew around the image with a wet paint brush, teased the excess paper away with my finger and fixed to the page with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I inked one of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Fragments with Hickory Smoke Archival ink and stamped randomly on the pages.
I added Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon and Word Play die-cut letters
coloured in the same way as the letters on the left hand page
I inked the script image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Black Soot Archival Ink and stamped randomly on both pages
and added splatters of Black Soot Distress Spray Stain
I roughed up the edges of  Idea-ology Found Relatives and Photobooth with Tim Holtz Paper  Distresser, applied a coat of Distress Vintage Collage Medium and sanded lightly. I added to the page with sections of Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon and created shadows around the edges of the collage pieces and the lettering on the right hand page with a Black Soot Distress Crayon, faded out using a Detailer Water Brush.
I added Dina Wakley Media Tape and Collage Words fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium

Idea-ology Tiny Text Remnant Rubs and a Small Talk Chit Chat Sticker.
