I was inspired to create a card, or I may use it for a notebook cover, by the spring bulbs in my garden, already poking their heads through the ground despite being covered by a blanket of snow and went with a spring colour combination.
I brayered Dina Wakley Lime and Blackberry Acrylic Paints lightly on to a 4.1/4" x 7.1/4 panel of Ranger Mixed Media Heavystock card but forgot to take a photo at that stage. I then added Ranger Opaque White Texture Paste using the the beautiful motif and circles on Stencil #49.
I applied Blackberry Paint through the circles section of the stencil again using a mini round blending and applied diluted Black Soot Distress Paint over the texture paste motif and wiped back with a slightly damp cloth. I inked Create It Grunge with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamped small sections randomly on the background.. I added Black Soot Distress Paint with a dabber top to the edges of the panel.
I stamped the flower image from Create It Grunge inked with Versafine Onyx Black on to a scrap of Distress Watercoor card and painted the flowerhead and stem with the same paints diluted with water.
I fussy cut around the flower head and then tore the card down each side. I used Tim Holtz Design Ruler and Craft Pick to create holes ready for stitching. I hand stitched across the top of the panel and on small areas on either side with Black Eclectic Elements thread. I could have used my sewing machine but couldn't be bothered changing the spool and spending the rest of the afternoon attempting to rethread the needle.
I'll be back later today to share my project for the Creativation 2019 Tim Holtz Blog Hop and Give-Away, 7.00am PST, 3.00pm UK and 4.00pm Europe, hope you'll join me and my very talented friends.
Hugs Kath xxx

ReplyDeleteStunning! I love the gorgeous colours in the background (now I need that Blackberry!) and your hand stitching and black edging makes the whole design pop. I am with you on threading the needles..... Hugs, Anne xx
