Simon Says - Food and/or Drink

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
FOOD AND/OR DRINK
I created a trio of cards to celebrate CAKE, my favourite food group using Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and Stampers Anonymous stencils for the backgrounds and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Celebrate, Brushstroke Flowers Mini and Alphanumeric Bulletin, Bold and Tiny Type Lower Thinlits to decorate. I featured 3 of my favourite cakes - Angel Cake, Chocolate Cake with Buttercream Frosting and Lemon Drizzle Cake.

I coloured 3 - A2 panels of Distress Watercolor card with Saltwater Taffy. Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks. I smooshed the ink pad on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, picked up the ink with a piece of plastic and pressed on to the watercolor card.
I created a tone-on-tone effect on the backgrounds using stencils from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Stencil Sets 5, 6 and 11
I applied Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Distress Watercolor card and die-cut the cakes, icing and candles three times using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Celebrate Colorize Thinlits. The adhesive sheets will keep the die-cuts in place which is very handy when it comes to colouring and prevents the little itty bitty pieces from going walk-about.
I smooshed various colours of Distress Oxide ink pads (colours linked below) on to my Glass Media Mat and coloured the cakes and candles and flames using a Distress Detailer Brush. Once the inks had dried, I peeled the backing from the die-cuts and assembled.
I embellished the Angel Cake card with flowers and leaves die-cut from Distress Watercolor card coloured with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and scraps of Sizzix Surfacez card left over from a previous make.
I die-cut the sentiment from the Saltwater Taffy card using Alphanumeric Bulletin and Tiny Type Lower Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
For the Chocolate cake card, I die-cut the sentiment from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock Dark Brown card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold and Tiny Type Lower Thinlits, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium ahd added Trinity Stamps Heart Sprinkles.

For the Lemon Drizzle cake, I die-cut the sentiment from Distress Watercolor card twice using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin and Bold Thinlits, coloured with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink, layered to create dimension and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.

I trimmed the panels to 4" x 5.1/4", added shading to the edges using the background colour ink pads and a mini round blending tool and fixed to A2 white card blanks.

Tim Holtz/Sizzix - PaperCut Cafe Coasters

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the coasters I made to match the clock for Tim Holtz/Sizzix YouTube Live launch of the Everyday 2023 release. If you missed the Live, you can check out all the products in the new release and all the amazing makes over on Tim's YouTube Channel or Blog.

I trimmed Sizzix Mat Board to 3.1/2" square to make the base of the coasters, on hindsight it might have been easier to buy a set of cheap coasters and miss out this step. I also cut Sizzix Cork Texture Roll to the same size.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin letters and a cup from PaperCut Cafe Thinlits to Sizzix Sticky Grid to create a template and die-cut the Sizzix Cork Texture Roll square and 2 squares of Distress Watercolor card. I lined up the squares in the same position using the grid so that they were die-cut in exactly the same place each time.
I fixed the squares in place on the coaster base using Distress Collage Medium and rounded the corners using a corner chomper.
I fixed the letters and cup die-cut from the Distress Watercolour card squares back into the negative spaces and added another layer of letters and cup, die-cut from Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops scraps left over from the clock and added the outlines for the letters and the steam from the cup, die-cut from Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock.
I repeated the process for the TEA Coaster using Sizzix Surfacez Cardstock and the Memoranda left over scraps and added hearts using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits.
I die-cut the letters to complete the sentiments from Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I applied two coats of Distress Collage Medium over the coasters to seal.
I painted the back and edges of the coasters with Black Soot Distress Paint to finish

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. I'm super duper excited about the release of a new Distress colour and will be joining Tim and Mario at the reveal party on Tim's YouTube Channel on Saturday 9am PT, 12pm ET or 5pm UK. Hope to see you there.

Tim Holtz/Sizzix - PaperCut Cafe Clock

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the clock I decorated for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Everyday 2023 release using PaperCut Cafe and Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits. If you missed the Live, you can check out the new release and all the amazing makes over on Tim's YouTube Channel HERE or Tim's Blog HERE.

I began by covering an 8" round chipboard blank with 2" squares of paper from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Backdrops and Memoranda 12 x 12 Paper Pad, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and used my trusty Dremel to drill a hole for the clock movement.
I die-cut the numerals for the clock from Sizzix Cork Texture Roll and Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I sanded the edge of the clock to remove any excess paper.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to brown tones of Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock, die-cut the tea and coffee cups using Tim Holtz/Sizzix PaperCut Cafe Thinlits, assembled and fixed to the clock face in place of the numbers between 12 - 3 - 6 and 9.
I die-cut the words TEA and COFFEE from Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock using the Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits and fixed in the centre of the clock face.
I painted the clock hands with Antique Linen Distress Paint, tapped with a Versamark ink pad, sprinkled with Antique Linen Distress Embossing Glaze, heat set and fixed to the spindle on the clock mechanism.

To finish I die-cut hearts from the pink plaid paper using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits, fixed to some of the cups and applied a coat of Ranger Glossy Accents.

I'll be back soon to share the coasters I made to match the clock. Have fun with whatever you are creating.

Simon Says - Beautiful Blooms

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS
I created an Art Journal page in my Dylusion Small Creative Journal using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Blossom and Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits as the focal points on a Distress Paint background, stencilled and stamped using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Focus and Gradient Dot Layering Stencils and Faded Type stamp set.

I began by painting a light coat of Wild Honey Distress Paint on the pages followed by a coat of White Gesso. I fixed torn strips of Idea-ology Botanical Collage Paper in place using Distress Collage Medium and applied a light coat of White Gesso on top. I applied Peeled Paint Distress Paint through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Focus Layering Stencil and Dusty Concord through the Gradient Dots Layering Stencil using a mini round blending tool and domed foams. I stamped the number image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type randomly on the pages, inked with Dusty Concord Distress Archival ink and the script image, inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder.
I painted a panel of Distress Watercolor card with Dusty Concord Distress Paint, die-cut the Alphanumeric Bulletin Thinlits and fixed to the pages with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the letters again from Distress Watercolor card and fixed in place.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Blossom flower times from Distress Watercolor card, painted the base layer with Dusty Concord Distress Paint and darkened with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool. I shaded the second layer lightly and just the inside edge of the third layer with Villainous Potion
I die-cut the flower centre from brown and yellow Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and the leaves from Simon Says Green Apple and Green Leaf cardstock, I shaded the edges of the leaves with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide, assembled the flower and leaves and fixed to the pages.
