Simon Says - Light Up The New Year

 Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month means that the Design Team are showcasing products from one particular company/brand and this month it's the turn of Studio Light. You don't have to use their products to join in with the challenge but if you have them in your stash, we would love to see how you use them.

We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Monika aka My Bonnet Bee as our Designer In The Spotlight. If you haven't visited her blog before, pop over and say hi, you are in for a real treat.

The theme for this week is...

LIGHT UP THE NEW YEAR

I used Studio Light Winter Garden Neutrals Paper Pad and die-cut elements to make "light up the new year" thank you cards for friends and used Simon Says Full Of Thanks stamp set for the sentiments.

I began by trimming 3 of the patterned papers from Studio Light Winter Garden 6" x 6" Paper Pad to measure 5" square.

I selected die-cut elements from the matching Studio Light Winter Garden Elements Pad and laid them out on each panel. Once I was happy with the placement, I fixed them in place using Simon Says Foam Squares.

I inked the sentiment from Simon Says Full of Thanks stamp set with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink, stamped on to a scrap of patterned paper, trimmed and fixed to two of the panels.

On the third panel, I added a strip of the plain paper from the pad and stamped the sentiment, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

To finish I added the red heart die-cuts from the Winter Garden Elements pad, applied a coat of Tonic Studios Aqua Shimmer and Ranger Glossy Accents. I matted each panel on to plain paper from the Winter Garden Pad trimmed to 5.1/4" square and fixed to a 5.1/2" square white card blank.
