Simon Says - Architecture/Buildings

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
ARCHITECTURE/BUILDINGS
I decorated a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Rectangles Panel as a gift for a young couple  graduating soon as fully qualified architects using Idea-ology Backdrops 2 Paper, Mini Layering Stencils from Set 49, Distress Texture Paste and Distress Black Texture Paste, Tim Holtz/Sizzix City Metropolis Thinlits, Idea-ology Theories Quote Chips and Trinity Stamps Candy Apple Heart Sprinkles.

I covered a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera 6" x 8,1.2" Rectangle sPanel with Idea-ology Backdrops 2 paper using Distress Collage Medium Matte with a Collage Brush and used a Distress Brayer to smooth the paper out and ensure adhesion.
Once the paper had dried, I sanded the edges with a mini round blending tool and Distress Sanding Disk to remove any excess, spritzed Hickory Smoke Distress Spray Stain and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray over the background to add a variation of colour and applied Distress Texture Paste Opague through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Deco Arch Mini Layering Stencil from Set 49.
I applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the Script Mini Layering Stencil from the same set.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix City Metropolis Thinlits from Distress Black Heavystock, Black Two Tone and Grey Two Tone Woodgrain Card and assembled.
I added torn strips of Idea-ology Photographic and Typset Collage Papers using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I fixed the City Metropolis Thinlits in place on black foam squares, added an Idea-ology Theories Quote Chip, trimmed into individual words and added Trinity Stamps Candy Apple Heart Sprinkles.
To finish I painted the edges and the back of the panel with Black Gesso.

Tim Holtz/Ranger - Spooky Happenings

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the delicious new Distress Mica Stains and yummy Distress Black Texture Paste from the Tim Holtz/Ranger Halloween release along with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Big Frights and the adorable ghosts from Frightful Things Thinlits.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and spritzed with Mulled Cider and Fallen Acorn Distress Mica Stains. I held the panel upright, spritzed with water and let the colour run down and blend. I added splatters of Unravelled Distress Mica Stain, dried and applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Twisted Mini Layering Stencil from Set 23.I die-cut the shadow section of the Tim Holtz.Sizzix Big Frights Thinlits from the panel and die-cut the word from the shadow section and matted the panel on an A2 panel of Distress Black HeavyStock

I die-cut the ghosts from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Frightful Things and tapped into a puddle of Unravelled Distress Mica Stain.I fixed the ghosts in place behind the die-cut word, popped the word back into the negative space popped up on black foam squares and added the third ghost also popped up on foam squares. I added Idea-ology Halloween Remnant Rubs and stickers from the Idea-ology Curiosities Stickers book.I spritzed a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Unravelled Distress Mica Stain, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Stars Thinlits, fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Tim Holtz/Ranger - New Halloween Release

Hi my friends, more exciting news from Tim Holtz and Ranger, 6 new colours have been added to the Distress Mica Stains family and gorgeous colours they are too so, of course, I had to make me some swatches.

and woohoo, we now have Black Distress Texture Paste and hold on to your galluses, Distress Grit Paste Glow. Yes, it glows in the dark, perfect for making some fun spooky projects.
Time to have some fun and make a card.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", laid the largest Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Masks on the panel and spritzed with Phantom Mist and Mulled Cider Distress Mica Sprays. I removed the mask, spritzed the panel with water and let the spray do it's own thing and blur out the edges of the moon.
I applied Distress Crackle Texture Paste through the Halloween script Mini Layering Stencil from Set 23 and once the paste had dried, sprayed the stencilling with Fallen Acorn Distress Mica Stain, letting it run into the crackle before drying.
I stamped the floral image and label from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dearly Departed, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I fixed the butterflies from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Curiosities Sticker book on to the panel, only applying adhesive to the bodies and added splatters of Unravelled Distress Mica Stain using the nozzle of the bottle.
To finish, I matted the panel on to an A2 piece of Black Distress Heavystock, fixed to an A2 white card blank and added Clippings Stickers, also from the Curiosities Sticker Book.

I wish you could see the beautiful shimmer on this card in real life, sadly, the camera doesn't play ball without it making the photos all glary. I'll be back soon to share another card made with the new Halloween release from Tim and Ranger.

Simon Says - Layered Sunflowers Stencil

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another quick and easy card made using the 6" x 9" Layered Sunflowers Stencil and So Swell stamp set from Simon Says Stamp recent Just A Note release. You can check out all the new products in the release HERE.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 3.3/4" x 5", positioned the first stencil in the Layered Sunflowers set at an angle and applied Limelicious from the Green Meadows Mini Ink Cube released last month using a Simon Says Round Detail Brush.
What I didn't realise until I removed the stencil that the small oval was the flower centre, so I repositioned the stencil and coloured using Simon Says Intense Black ink, who's ever going to know.
I continued with Stencils 2 and 3 using Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks.
I inked the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp So Well with Versamark ink, stamped on to a thin strip of Distress Black HeavyStock, sprinkled with Simon Says Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set.
I fixed the black and white striped paper from 49andMarket Spectrum Gardenia paper pad on the bottom of the Distress Watercolor card, trimmed off the excess and fixed the sentiment strip on top. I added white dots to the flower centres using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.To finish, I matted the panel on to Distress Black HeavyStock trimmed 1/4" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Why don't you join Heidi and Reed for a livestream reveal of all the new products in the Just A Note release with lots of inspirational makes on Simon Says Stamp YouTube Channel today 9.30am PT, 12.30pm ET and 5.30pm UK.

Simon Says - Just a Note Release

Hi my friends, it's an exciting day over at Simon Says Stamp. The latest release "Just A Note" has gone live and you can check out all the fabulous products in the release HERE.

I made a card using the Tipping 6" x 6" Background Cling Stamp for the background, So Swell stamp set for the sentiments and the Gradient Dot Embossing Folder to add texture to the Windswept Leaves and Layered Perky Flower die-cuts left over from previous cards.

I placed a 3.3/4" x 5" panel of Distress Watercolor card in my stamp platform and masked off a border with Simon Says Low Tack Tape. I inked the Tipping Background Cling Stamp with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and stamped on to the panel.
I coloured the Windswept Leaves and Layered Perky Flower die-cuts with Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles. Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks using Mini Round Blending Tools and Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes for the smaller areas and to add shading.
I placed the die-cut panels in Simon Says Gradient Dot Embossing Folder and ran through my die-cutting machine.
I inked the small sentiment from Simon Says So Swell stamp set with Intense Black ink and stamped on the bottom of the panel. I stamped the Waving Hello sentiment on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, trimmed out the word HELLO and fussy cut around it leaving a small border.
I fixed the flowers and leaves in place with Distress Collage Medium and added the Hello popped up on Simon Says Black foam squares to add dimension. I used Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink to add shading around the edges of the panel, added splatters of water and dried. I accentuated the gradient dot pattern on the leaves and flower heads using Faded Jeans and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks, applied lightly with mini round blending tools.
To finish I matted the panel on to an A2 top folding white card blank.

I'll be back later on in the day tomorrow to share a project made with some brand new exciting products, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you're making.
