Crafting Up A Storm...

Hi folks, we've had a little snowfall and I emphasise LITTLE, barely covering the soles of my boots...nothing like the armageddon "beast from the east" storm forecast by the hysterical "politically correct" idiots at the Met Office...
seriously, they need to get a grip...it's Winter for goodness sake and as far back as I can remember, snow is not an unusual weather phenomenon at this time of the year. And I won't be clearing the car today, I'm staying put in the "warm as toast" cubbyhole because the fabulous Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit has arrived
and I've been cooking up a storm of  my own...creating 6 cards in no time at all using the papers and  stickers with a little bit of stamping. The kit has SOLD OUT, no surprise there, but most of the individual items are still available to buy, see the links below...

the stitched border stamp from the Choose Joy stamp set was inked with Antique Linen Distress Oxide
the flowers were coloured with Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey and Wilted Violet and the leaves with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Oxides.

I couldn't resist using that stitched border again inked with Tattered Rose Distress Oxide.
and I still have plenty bits and pieces left over to play with...
including two stamp sets and 2 ink pads...
and a little sneaky peek of one of the stamp sets from the Simon Says Stamp Best Ever Release due to go live on Thursday 8th March...
I'll be back tomorrow to share the first of a trio of cards made with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprints 10 stamp set until then, stay warm, cosy and safe if the weather is wintry where you are.
Toodle-oo for now

Stampers Anonymous- Pennants

Hi folks...I'm sharing two cards I made with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Pennants Stamp Set...

starting off with a card suitable for a male using an image from the Theories Stamp Set

I die cut a frame and panel from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Stacked Deckle Thinlits
I flicked some splatters of Distress Resist Spray on to the card and then coloured with Candied Apple, Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxides. A quick wipe with a dry paper towel and the Distress Resist Spray splatters pop...
I stamped the image from the Theories stamp set on to Distress Watercolor Card with Black Soot Archival, die cut using a smaller Stacked Deckle die and darkened the edges with a Black Soot Distress Marker. I stamped the image again with Candied Apple Distress Oxide and fussy cut the balloon. I stamped the sentiments from Pennants with Black Soot Archival  and cut out.
I stamped the pennant twice on to Distress Watercolor card with Black Soot Archival and Candied Apple Distress Oxide and cut out.
I coloured the edges of the card blank with Candied Apple Distress Oxide using the direct to paper technique
fixed the frame in place
darkened the edges of the panel with a Black Soot Distress Marker and popped the panel back into the frame, popped up with 3D foam to create dimension.
and a softer more feminine version decorated with (look away now Mr H) SEQUINS...
I used the stencils from Mini Layering Set 6 with Worn Lipstick and Black Soot Distress Oxides to decorate the panel
stamped the pennants on to Distress Watercolor Card using Worn Lipstick, Twisted Citron, Wild Honey and Broken China Distress Oxides and cut out. I then stamped the pennant again on to the panel inking up only the ties section with Black Soot Distress Oxide.
fixed the coloured pennants in place and decorated with sequins and Eclectic Elements Thread.
I fixed the panel to a black card blank and created small splatters on the panel and around the edges of the card with the inks I used to stamp the pennants.
I'll be back tomorrow to share some cards I made with the Mini Blueprints 10 stamp set...it's going to be a "something for everyone" Beer, Wine and Cocktails day.

Simon Says...In My Garden

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
IN MY GARDEN
I decorated an Etcetera Mini Tag inspired by the signs in my garden that Spring is just around the corner and forgive me for once again indulging my obsession with these great value for money mixed media surfaces.
I started off by applying a coat of White Gesso and once it was dry, I brushed Broken China Distress Paint on to the centre. I wanted a fairly pale look so then I brushed Antique Linen Distress Paint around the edges without cleaning my brush to blend the colours together.
I fixed torn strips of Tim Holtz Memoranda paper in place with Distress Collage Medium...
and applied Ranger Opague Texture Paste through the Latticework Mini Layering Stencil from Set 4
and Walnut Stain Distress Ink through the Blossom Mini Layering Stencil also from Set 4
I stamped the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White embossing powder
I used the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Deckle set of Thinlits to die cut a frame and panels from Idea-ology Memoranda paper and white cardstock.
I applied Ranger Opague Texture Paste through the Blossom Layering Stencil on to one panel and once it was dry, coloured the background with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink using the Detailer Brush.
but had a change of heart, went back in with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink to darken it up and die-cut it again with a smaller Stacked Deckle die. I arranged the deckle panels on the tag with circles of Hemptique White Cord to get an idea of placement.
I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks, die cut the flowers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Florals 1 Thinlits and coloured the centres of the white flowers with a Wild Honey Distress Marker.
and this brush and foam pad from Sizzix are an absolute must-have for removing all those itty bitty pieces that get left in your dies.
I fixed the Stacked Deckle panels, white cord and die cut flowers in place with Distress Collage Medium with the centre panel popped up with 3D foam.  I used Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink with the Detailer Brush to colour the centre of the daisies.
I stamped the butterflies from Entomology with Ground Espresso Archival ink on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Broken China, Fossilized Amber and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks using the Detailer Brush and fussy cut.
fixed the butterflies and the rest of the flowers in place with Distress Collage Medium
and added an Idea-ology Clippings Sticker, Big Chat and ChitChat Stickers.
