The Love Production Line...

Hi my friends, I'm back on Brodie's Machu Picchu World Challenge 2021 card making production line and with Valentine's Day just a few weeks away, love has been in the air in the cubbyhole. I was inspired by Monday's Art Journal page to make these cards, using some of the same products from Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix, Simon Says Stamp and Ranger which were still sitting on my workdesk.

For the first card, I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than A2, spritzed with water and sprayed with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Sprays.
I used 2 sizes of the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Hexagons to die-cut apertures, frames and tiles and because there are 5 of each stack, you can die-cut them all in one pass.
I fixed the panel to a scrap of white card, inked the edges of each frame and tile with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and fixed them into the apertures, using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I added strips of Washi Tape, inked the Craze stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Craze and Planks with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stamped randomly on the background.
I die-cut Simon Says Stamp Love from Distress Watercolor card and Schoolhouse Red and the hearts from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartbeat from Schoolhouse Red and fixed in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I inked the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text with Versamark, stamped on to a strip of Tim Holtz Idea-ology BlackOut Kraftstock, heat embossed and die-cut using Simon Says Stamp Nested Banners.
I fixed the sentiment in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive and fixed the panel to an A2 Kraft card blank.
On the second card, I added washi tape to a panel of Distress Watercolor card, die-cut the words from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Ornate Alphabet and the hearts using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartbeat from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock, added the sentiment and fixed to an A2 Kraft Card blank.
On the third card, I trimmed Schoolhouse Red cardstock to be slightly smaller than A2, die-cut an aperture using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartbeat Thinlits. I fixed Washi Tape on to an A2 card blank diagonally behind where the aperture would be, fixed the red panel to the card  and added an extra strip of Washi Tape. I die-cut the letters and hearts from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Ornate Alphabet and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartbeat Thinlits and fixed to the card with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive. I added splatters using Picket Fence Distress Paint and fixed the sentiment in place.
I finished off by adding Ranger Glossy Accents to the hearts on all 3 cards and once dry, another batch of cards is ready to go.
Have a great weekend whatever you are planning to do and I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is currently at the "haven't got a clue what I'm going to make" stage, so best get a wiggle on.

Toodle-oo for now

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Field Notes

Hi my friends, I'm sharing another card I made for Creativation 2020 and the Facebook Live launch of the newest collection of stamps and stencils from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous using CMS 396 Field Notes, CMS 394 Tiny Text and the Bouquet Layering Stencil. If you missed the Facebook Live, you can catch up with all the stamps and stencils and inspirational samples over on Tim's blog HERE.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to measure 4" x 5/1.4", spritzed with water and sprayed with Festive Berries and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Sprays.
I inked the images from Field Notes with Black Soot Archival and stamped on to Distress Watercolor card.
I fixed a sheet of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sticky Grid to the lid of my stamp platform to hold the Tiny Text stamps and it's carrier sheet in place.
I inked the entire stamp with Versamark ink, stamped on Tim Holtz Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I now have an endless supply of my own Label Letter sentiments to trim out as required.
I die-cut tags from the BlackOut card and Distress Watercolour card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tags Thinlits. I sanded the BlackOut tag to create a shabby vintage look. On the second tag, I applied Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink through the Bouquet Layering Stencil and stamped Tiny Text randomly inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival.
I fussy cut the Field Notes images, coloured with Festive Berries and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks, fixed some flat on the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte and others popped up on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.

I added machine stitching, twine to the tags, fixed the panel to BlackOut Kraftstock trimmed to be slightly larger and adhered to a white card blank.

Love is in the air in the cubbyhole and I'll be back tomorrow to share a trio of cards inspired by Monday's Art Journal page.

Hello Spring...

Hi my friends, I'm back to share another card I made for Creativation 2020 and the Facebook Live Launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous release using Spring Shadows,Tiny Text and Bubbles Layering Stencil which are shipping now. If you missed the Facebook Live, you can catch up with all the new stamps and stencils and the inspirational samples over on Tim's blog HERE.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than A2, spritzed with water, sprayed with Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Sprays. I dried the panel, spritzed with water and patted with kitchen towel to create that oxidised water droplet effect.
I left the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text stamp on the carrier sheet and inked with Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks
and stamped on to the panel
I stamped the bunnies, flowers, leaves and splatters from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Spring Shadows inked with Distress Archival inks
I inked the sentiment from the stamp set with Versamark ink, stamped on to a scrap of vellum and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I applied Ranger Opague Matt Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubble Layering Stencil.
I stitched the vellum strip on to the panel, removed the thread from my sewing machine needle and stitched randomly around the edges of the panel.
I added Crinkle Ribbon, pom poms to create the bunny tails and matted the panel on to a white A2 card blank.

As we head towards the end of January, it seems we may be saying hello to Spring quicker than we think
With no snow yet in my neck of the woods, we seem to be skipping Winter this year or will those be famous last words that jump up and bit me on the bum. In the meantime, I'm heading for the cubbyhole, inspired by Monday's love-themed Art Journal page, to crank up the Valentine's Day card production line.
Toodle-oo for now

Simon Says - All loved Up

Hi my friends, I'm sharing my DT project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you will join us this week to because

and the theme this week is
ALL LOVED UP
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided to look out my Dylusions Small Creative Journal and create a fun page dedicated to love using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts and Heartbeat Thinlits, an image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat and big bold words using Simon Says Stamp Ornate Alphabet dies.

I began by spritzing the journal pages with water, sprayed Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen Distress Oxide Sprays, dried and added flicks of water to create that oxidised look we all love.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits from a scrap of cardstock to use as a stencil, applying Festive Berries Distress Paint randomly on the background using a mini round blending tool.
I tapped a Versamark Ink pad over the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubbles Layering Stencil, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and heat to set. I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Craze background from Craze and Planks with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly over the background.
I painted Distress Watercolor card with Festive Berries Distress Paint and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartbeat Thinlits.
I die-cut the word CRAZY 4 times from Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Stamp Ornate Alphabet, layered to create dimension and over-stamped with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Craze background stamp inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink. I added Ground Espresso Distress Ink to the edges of the letters and the die cut hearts using a mini round blending tool.
I added Washi Tape to the background and fixed the alphabet and heart die-cuts in place using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I stamped the perfect image for my crazy page from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Hickory Smoke Distress Markers using a Distress Detailer Brush, fussy cut and fixed to the page with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I die-cut the word YOU 4 times from Distress Watercolor card and card coloured with Festive Berries Distress Paint, layered and fixed to the page using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Upper and Lower Thinlits to complete the wording.
I die-cut the heart trace section from the Heartbeat die from Idea-ology Blackout KraftStock, trimmed into smaller sections, removed the self adhesive backing and pressed into place.
To finish I added splatters of Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paints and edged the pages with Black Soot using a dabber top.
The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that "O" is sitting slightly askew, it must have slipped before the adhesive dried. I did think about prising it off to straighten but, at risk of tearing the page, I decided to heed the advice of my adorable Professor, embrace my imperfections and leave well alone. It adds to the crazy theme of the page, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
