Love Is In The Air...

Hi folks, it's Friday and the weekend beckons. With the Baltic chilly weather forecast to continue, I'm planning to snuggle up on the sofa with my laptop and lots of warming coffee for a weekend of inspiration from my adorable Professor at Creativation. I'm looking forward to lots of demos using all the fabulous new Distress products and lots of BTS snapshots and videos from my sweet friend Mario.
In the meantime, love has been in the air in the cubbyhole and I've been mixing and matching the new products that are sitting on my workdesk to make some Valentine cards...
I began by die-cutting a pile of confetti hearts from coloured cardstock and paper using Tim Holtz Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits. The cardstock and paper I used had colour on both sides but if you wanted to use any of the Idea-ology Metallic Kraftstocks or your favourite patterned papers, just fix the sheets back to back with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets before die-cutting.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to fit on an A2 Kraft card blank leaving a border around the edge and die cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix HeartbeatThinlits.
I smooshed Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink on to my glass media mat, spritzed with water, picked the ink up on a piece of acetate, smooshed on to the panel and repeated until I was happy with the background.
With the remaining ink I decided to repeat on another two panels, it's just as quick to make three cards as it is one.
So let's start with the first card which I turned into a shaker
I fixed acetate behind the panel, added 3D foam tape around the edges of the aperture and panel and added a sprinkling of the die cut hearts and some Ice Crystal Sequins,
I covered the back of the panel with kraft card and fixed to an A2 Kraft Card blank. I die cut Simon Says Stamp Shadow Love sentiment from Simon Says Ultra White and Doll Pink cardstock and fixed to the card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I finished by adding extra hearts and sequin on the panel and acetate aperture.

On the second card, I fixed the panel on to the A2 Kraft Card blank using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and die-cut the word LOVE using Simon Says Ornate Alphabet.
I fixed the letters in place using Distress Collage Medium Matte and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive on alternate letters.
I finished by adding die-cut hearts to the letters and inside the heart aperture.
I still have one more panel, two negative Heartbeat die-cuts and a pile of heart confetti to use, so I'll be back to share more cards later.
In the meantime, have a great weekend, whatever you have planned and I'll see you all on Monday with my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
