A Rose By Any Other Name

Hi my friends, today I'm sharing a project I made for Creativation 2020 and the Facebook Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 1 and 2 dies using the gorgeous Roses 3D Texture Fade with Scribbly Butterflies and Tiny Type Upper Thinlits from Chapter 1 and Deco Frame BigZ die from Chapter 2. If you missed the Facebook Lives, you can check out all the products and inspirational makes from Chapter 1 HERE shipping now and Chapter 2 HERE shipping in April.

I began by trimming Sizzix Matboard to 6" x 8", covered with paper from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Abandoned Paper Stash using Distress Collage Medium Matte and sanded back the edges. I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create a 5" x 7" panel, spritzed with water on both sides and embossed using the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Roses 3D Texture Fade. I diluted Antique Linen Distress Paint with water and applied in a dabbing motion using a baby wipe. Once it was dry, I applied a coat of Distress Collage Vintage Medium Matte over the panel. I scribbled Distress Crayons over the embossed areas, Tea Dye on the flowers and Peeled Paint on the flowers, rubbed the crayon into the recesses, blended out with my fingers and removed any excess crayon from around the embossed areas using slightly damp kitchen towel.
I stamped the text image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Lady Rose randomly over the background using Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink.
I coloured a panel of Distress Watercolor card using Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Sprays.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Butterflies from Distress Watercolor card and the coloured panel, fixed together with Distress Collage Medium Matte, slightly offset to create a white highlight and stitched on to the panel.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Deco Frame BigZ from Sizzix Matboard covered with the Abandoned Paper and sanded back the edges.
I placed the Deco Frame on to vellum and marked around the inside of the aperture with a pencil. I fixed a sheet of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sticky Grid on to my Glass Media Mat, placed the vellum on top lining the pencilled aperture up with the grid on the sheet. I die-cut the  Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Text Upper letters from Distress Watercolor card backed with Sizzix Adhesive Sheets and used the grid lines to ensure they were aligned and centred in the space.
I trimmed around the edge of the vellum panel and fixed behind the Deco Frame.

To finish I tattered the edge of the panel using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and added a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Vintage Clip painted with Rusty Hinge and Picket Fence Distress Paints. Have a great weekend whatever you have planned and I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
