Short but sweet...

Hi Folks...before I head off to The Papeterie for a fun day at my Craftwork Cards Christmas Demo and Workshop...lucky old me...a whole day playing (oops I mean working hard) with the gorgeous Elegance Flowers and Paper Pad in the company of lots of lovely crafters...here's what I got up to yesterday with the stamp I just couldn't live without...
a chance to indulge my new found passion for all things Frantage...

but the day didn't exactly go as planned...playtime was cut short when work stuff popped into my Inbox and I was back to running around like a cat with a scalded bum...I need to get a serious wiggle on to make a dent in the crafty list before Mr Postie Man comes a-knocking with a parcel of new Sizzix/Hero Arts goodies with deadlines attached.
I'll see you all tomorrow over at LOTV's Ideas to Inspire Blog for my last Guest Designer Project

Good news all round

Hi Folks...yesterday was definitely a good news day...woohoo...toot...toot...thanks to Hero Arts for featuring my Many Branches/Winter Moon cards over at...
Christmas Comes Early...
and as if that wasn't enough good news for one day...the sun decided to put his hat on and come out to play...yes that is real blue sky...unbelieveable after the horrendous weather earlier in the week...
I'm not complaining but I was a bit miffed that I was stuck in the cubbyhole beavering away while The Furry Boy was catching up on some sunny snooze time...
but two can play at that game...I'm downing tools today for a bit of much needed play time with this gorgeous stamp from Stampendous which I spotted at The Papeterie a few weeks ago.  "Do you really need any more Christmas Stamps" said that interfering voice in my head so I resisted temptation for one whole week before that irresistible urge got the better of me...you know what it's like...sometimes you just have to give in and admit defeat...
I'll be back tomorrow to share what I make...looking forward to some playtime.

Sneaky Peek Time

Hi folks...thank goodness the weather's calmed down...hope we've seen the last of the torrential rain and scary gale force winds...I'll settle for the usual dark dreary with a bit of drizzle kind of a day because apart from venturing out for our doggy strolls...we'll be beavering away snug and warm in the cubbyhole. That's the royal "WE" you understand...I'm the one racing around on the hamster wheel whilst my Furry Partner keeps the radiator company and entertains me with his very own tuneful snoring and chasing rabbit woofs...who needs a radio...
Saturday's workshop project and demo stuff are done and dusted so once again it's a sneaky peek day...

Time to make a start on my project for The Christmas Papercraft Day at The Papeterie on Sunday 7th October...I know...last minute Annie again but I have an idea running around in my head...let's hope it comes together as planned...if not it's panic stations and back to the drawing board.
See you all tomorrow

What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Hi folks...I'm abandoning any hope of Summer now...time to look out my winter togs and turn up the heating because the weather's gone crazy in my neck of the woods...
waves breaking over the South Sea Wall at Aberdeen Harbour yesterday...
whipping the sea into an angry cauldron of sea foam which engulfed the houses around the harbour at Footdee or in Aberdeen speak...Fittie
I've never seen anything like this before in my lifetime...
And who in their right mind would be crawling out of bed when it's still dark...the rain's lashing against the window and the wind's doing it's hardest to whip the roof of the house...no chance of turning over for an extra hour of snuggliness in this house with the Furry Alarm Clock bouncing on and off the bed doing his baby elephant impression...ignore him and he assumes I must be in need of mouth to mouth resuscitation...trust me it's easier to get up...head downstairs...put the kettle on while his Lordship wolfs down his breakfast before heading back upstairs to resume his slumbers by which time I'm wide awake and feeling non too chirpy either.
But on a cheerier note...it's Wednesday and that means I'm heading over to Julia's place aka WOYWW where lots of lovely crafty folks allow us to snoop around their crafty spaces...so what's on my workdesk today...
the debris left over from Saturday's workshop project which is sorted and kitted up...I just need to get busy with the demo stuff now but first I have to get kitted out in the stormy weather gear for our morning stroll...I will be keeping a tight hold of my furry partner...surely his 42 kilo coffee table style body will prevent me from becoming airborne and flying off into the wild blue yonder Mary Poppins style.  Stay cosy and safe everyone...I'll see you all tomorrow to share some demo sneaky peeks

WD 40 required

Hi folks...yesterday was a bit of a "the body doth protest" kind of day but I might have known that the day after the day after is always worse...hopped out of bed this morning to find that my legs just don't want to play...the old brain's obviously playing it safe and not sending them any "it's time to get going" messages so this morning's stroll could be a bit of a struggle until I can coax the old joints back to co-operating...all that's required is a bit of lubrication..I wonder if a squirt of WD 40 would do the trick.
The cubbyhole crew are back on the hamster wheel again kitting for Saturday's Craftwork Cards Christmas Demo and Workshop at The Papeterie...
and I know what you're thinking...this looks nothing like Christmas...to be honest I'm thinking exactly the same so we're going to have to dig deep for some imaginative inspiration...in the meantime I've been delving into the archives again for another Sizzix make using those stitching embossing folders...

Fingers crossed I'm back to being able to run around like a headless chicken for tomorrow

Back to earth with a bump...

Hi folks...I'm back down to earth with a bump after a fabulous fun Craft Retreat Weekend...it's a bit of a thought to get back into the cubbyhole work stuff...after all the running around like a headless chicken prep I can't believe it's over...where did the weekend go but it's time to share Workshop 3 from Saturday...a cute wreath made with Craftwork Cards Vintage Flowers Pad...
and Workshop 4 on Sunday morning...
all raring to go after their Ladies Rugby Team shenanigans on Saturday night...
that's a story for another time...
I just had to sneak in a Hero Arts project made with "Holiday Cheer" Stamps and Frame Cuts...
What better way to spend a weekend than with lots of fun crafters and from the hilarity coming from each classroom...I'm sure they enjoyed it as much as we did. Big thank you to Charlotte and her team at The Papeterie for all their hard work ensuring it all ran like clockwork...for spoiling us with the excellent catering and a special thank you to all the lovely girls who came along to share in the fun...hope to see you all next time.

some of the lucky winners in the "time to say goodbye" raffle...

a rare photo of the lovely Charlotte...our leader and organiser extraordinaire...

what a co-incidence that everyone won a prize in the raffle and also went home with a fabulous "filled to the brim" goody bag.
To be honest I've got that deflated feeling this morning...missing the company and buzz of the weekend...not to mention the fact that if I stay in one place too long...the old body is in danger of seizing up so I'm hot footing it over to The Papeterie to kit up for next Saturday's Craftwork Cards Workshop....coffee butteries and a chinwag are a cure for all ills and if that excuse doesn't wear...I left my favourite jacket in the office...see you all tomorrow.

after a yummy Papeterie buffet lunch...it was back to the crafty stuff again for Workshop 2...

a calendar using the gorgeous papers from Craftwork Cards Vintage Flower & Paper Pad...Tim Holtz Dies and Stamps...

Woohoo...I'm excited

Hi folks...I'm in muchly excited mode this morning...the first workshop day at The Papeterie's Craft Retreat Weekend...ready to rock 'n roll and if the hilarity at last night's welcome dinner is anything to go by...it's going to be a fabulous FUN weekend.
I just hope they don't tire this old crafty girl out too much...no time to rest on my laurels...we'll be back on the kitting merry go round bright and early Monday morning for next weekend's Craftwork Cards Demo and Workshop and the following weekend...it's...
CHRISTMAS PAPERCRAFT DAY
Sunday 7th October   10.00am - 4.00pm
I'm smitten with these gorgeous Home Spun Christmas papers...sneaky peek coming soon...I think there are a few spaces left so if you want to come along and join in the fun...give Charlotte a ring on 01224 802337 but now I need to wangle a bit of playtime with the new goodies that popped through our letterbox this week...Hero Arts gorgeous new Shadow Inks...
Wendy Vecchi's fabulous new stencils which as far as I know are not yet available to buy in the UK but I managed to track them down over at Simon Says Stamp and they took less than a week to travel across the pond...
I'll be back tomorrow to share some Craft Retreat pics..

Lili Of The Valley Guest Design Spot...Week 3

Hi folks...time to share the third project for my Guest Design Spot over at LOTV's Ideas to Inspire Blog...how time flies when you're having fun.  The weather in my neck of the woods has been rather chilly of late...there's been a bit of a snowfall on the hills so my thoughts are turning to Christmas...not too far away is it...I don't know about you but every year without fail it seems to sneak up on me so now is the perfect time to get ahead with the Christmas Cards...

I had great fun making this card....I started off masking off the bottom and then colouring the mat with one of my favourite Distress Inks...Pumice Stone then I overstamped with images from Set 21 - Grunge Corners.
Stamped the Grunge Postcard image...overstamped with Grunge Letter and tinted with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  Then I cheated slightly by cutting out some images from Traditional Christmas Die Cut Designs...
finishing off with a liberal helping of Glossy Accents and lots of Frantage Fun
It's going to be a running hither and tither kind of a day...I'm off to The Papeterie this morning to set up for tomorrow's workshops...woohoo I'm excited...excited...then home for a quick scrub up for tonight's welcome dinner...can't wait to meet all our lovely Crafty Retreaters.
