Hello Beautiful

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a trio of cards I made using the Chevron Pattern Large Stencil, Bouquet For Mom stamp set, Spring Flowers Background Cling and Mother's Day Flowers die from Simon Says Stamp All The Feels release and Beautiful word die, Carta Bella Flower Garden papers, Simon Says Stamp Vellum and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sentiments Label Stickers from the Spring Windows March Card Kit.

I began by spritzing Worn Lipstick and Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stains through the Chevron Pattern Large Stencil on a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card. I inked the Spring Flowers Background with Peeled Paint Distress Archival ink and stamped randomly on the background. I die-cut the Beautiful shadow from vellum and the word 3 times from Distress Watercolor card and layered to create dimension. I die-cut the flowers from Distress Watercolor card 3 times using Mother's Day Flowers, fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium, added Stormy Skies Glossies in the flower centres, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sentiments Label Stickers and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

I spritzed the ink on the back of the Chevron Patterned Large Stencil with water, laid on to a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card and dabbed with kitchen towel to transfer the spray stains to create a monoprint effect. I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Bouquet For Mom and a section of the bouquet image inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I die-cut the Beautiful shadow from Distress Watercolor card, inked around the edge with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and added the Beautiful word die-cut 3 times from Distress Watercolor card. I coloured the top layer with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and fixed the layers together to create dimension. I added Glossies Cotton Candy Mini Hearts, a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sentiments Label Sticker and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.

I spritzed the back of the stencil again with water and pressed on to a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card. I applied Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink randomly over the background using the Chevron Pattern Large Stencil with a mini round blending tool, inked the Spring Flowers Background with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly over the background. I die-cut the Beautiful word shadow from Distress Watercolor card, fussy cut the  seeds images from the Carta Bella Flower Garden paper, inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I fussy cut the flowers from the Carta Bella paper, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I die-cut the Beautiful Word 3 times from Distress Watercolour card, coloured the top layer with Peacock Distress Oxide ink to create an ombre effect and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I added Glossy Accents to the flower centres, a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sentiments Label Sticker and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.

Simon Says - Easter/Spring

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
EASTER/SPRING
I've been busy making Easter treat bags for family and friends and surprise, surprise I managed to use up another 2 backgrounds from my Tim Holtz Distress Spray Q&A YouTube Live pile.
#

I began by attaching Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to scraps of thin white card, covered with Sizzix felt from the Neutral and Pastel packs and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mr Rabbit BigZ die. Using a little bit of creative surgery, I gave Mr Rabbit a pink jacket, fluffy white tail, pink inner ears and trimmed out his leg from the second die-cut to create some dimension. I added Stormy Skies and Party Mix Glossies enamel dots for his eye, nose and buttons on his jacket and added a bow, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe Thinlits.
I fixed the monoprint background, created with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flourish Layering Stencil and Distress Sprays, to the bag and added strips of another Distress Sprays background to fill in the gap.
I added Tim Holtz Idea-ology Velvet Trim Warm and foliage die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits.
I die-cut the flower heads from left over pink felt, fixed to the panel, added a Velvet Trim knot and Mr Rabbit, popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Simple Sayings, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink, on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card coloured with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the word Easter from left over pink felt using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits

Another Day, Another Background

Happy Saturday my friends, it's another day, another background or to be more accurate, two backgrounds. Yes I've dusted off two more of the Distress Spray backgrounds inspired by Tim Holtz Q&A YouTube Live to make quick and easy cards using the Spring Flowers Background Cling Stamp and Mother's Day Flowers die from Simon Says Stamp All The Feels release and Beautiful word die from the March Card Kit.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and sprayed with Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stains and Broken China Distress Oxide Spray. I inked the Spring Flowers Background with Versamark ink and holding the stamps in my hands, stamped randomly on the panel, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and heat seat.
I die-cut the Mother's Day Flowers from Distress Watercolor card 4 times and layered to create dimension. I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink and die-cut the extra flowers included with the die and the flower centres.
I fixed the Happy Mothers Day sentiment and extra flowers in place with Distress Collage Medium, added Glossy Accents to the flower centres and matted to an A2 white card blank.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor to 4" x 5/1.4" and sprayed using Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stain, Broken China and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Sprays. Irepeated the stamping and heat embossing with the Spring Flowers background on the second panel. I die-cut the Beautiful Shadow 3 times from Simon Says Stamp Vellum and the Beautiful word from Distress Watercolor card 4 times, layered to create dimension and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die-cut the extra flowers from Distress Watercolor card using the Mother's Day Flowers die and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the flower centres, coloured with Broken China and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks and added an Idea-ology Sentiments Label Sticker.
I added Glossy Accents to the flower centres and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

The Mission Continues

Hi my friends, my mission continues to make a dent in the pile of Distress Spray backgrounds inspired by Saturday's Tim Holtz Q&A YouTube Live and I'm sharing a very quick and easy card using one of the monoprint backgrounds and the Spring Windows stamp set from Simon Says Stamp Spring Windows March Card Kit.

The monoprint panel was created on A2 Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flourish Layering Stencil with Rusty Hinge and Old Paper Distress Spray Stains. I stamped the window and brick wall images and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Spring Windows on to the panel, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and watercoloured sections of the images with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide and Old Paper Distress Re-inkers. I stamped the circle sentiment on to Distress Watercolor card using Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Circle Thinlits.
I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" using Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer, fixed to an A2 card blank covered with Idea-ology KraftStock from the Cool pack using Sizzix Foam Adhesive and added the Circle Love You sentiment.

Just another 35 backgrounds to go
and I'd best get a wiggle on before the fun begins again over at Tim and Mario's place tomorrow. Yes, it's another inspirational Q&A YouTube Live demo on Distress Paints, 4.00pm if you're in the UK. See you there.

Hello Beautiful

Hi my friends, did you happen to tune in to the Tim Holtz Distress Sprays Q&A YouTube Live on Saturday, if not, you missed an amazing masterclass and I would highly recommend that you watch the replay HERE. It doesn't matter how long you've been playing with these very versatile Distress products, our adorable Professor always has some fresh ideas and new "what if" techniques to share with us all.
I was inspired to look out my Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Spray Stains and spent two days spraying and spritzing to my heart's content making lots and lots of backgrounds.
Having a pile of backgrounds ready made is a great time-saver when you need to make cards in a hurryI used the Beautiful sentiment die and Idea-ology Sentiments Label Stickers from Simon Says Stamp Spring Windows March Card Kit and die-cuts from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits.

For the first card I trimmed Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock to 4.1/4" x 5.1/2", applied Ranger Distress Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Layering Stencil and sprinkled with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder while the paste was still wet. Once the paste was dry I heat embossed to create that beautiful shimmery shine. I placed the panel in my splat box, spritzed lightly with water and sprayed with Rusty Hinge, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stains. I dried with my heat tool, added splatters of water using my Distress Sprayer bottle and removed any of the excess spray from the embossed areas with kitchen towel. I die-cut the panel using the shadow die first, lined up the sentiment die on the shadow section and die-cut again. I matted the panel on to a 4.1/2" x 5.3/4" panel of brown Idea-ology Neutral KraftStock and fixed the sentiment die-cut in place in the negative space.  I added the Idea-ology Sentiment Label Sticker and matted the panel on to a 4.3/4" x 6" white card blank.

I trimmed Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock to create 2 - A2 panels. I sprayed through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flourish stencil with Rusty Hinge and Old Paper Distress Spray Stains and set this panel aside for another project. I misted the ink which had collected on the back of the stencil with water, laid the stencil on to the second panel of Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock and pressed with kitchen towel, allowing the ink to soak in to the card and create a monoprint effect. I die-cut the Beautiful sentiment twice and the shadow section from Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock, coloured the shadow section with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool, added to the panel using Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension and fixed the sentiment in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I die-cut the flowers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits, coloured with Crackling Campfire and Old Paper Distress Re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush, added Sizzix Foam Adhesive to the flower heads, Distress Collage Medium Matte to the stems and leaves and tucked in behind the sentiment banner.
I added an Idea-ology Sentiments Label Sticker and matted the panel on to a 4.1/2" x 5.3/4" white card blank.

I'll be back soon to share more makes using my pile of backgrounds, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you're making.
