Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
The first challenge of the month is when the Design Team showcase products from one brand or designer and this month we are using the fabulous Dylusions products from Dyan Reaveley. You don't have to use them to join in the challenge but if you have them in your stash, we would love to see how you use them.
We are also welcoming back the lovely Sandra Rupp aka srpaperlove into the Designer Spotlight and if you haven't visited her blog, you are in for a real treat, so pop over and say Hi.
the theme for this week is...
ART JOURNAL
I created a page in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper, Dylusions Paints with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Layering Stencils, Dylusions Borders and Quotes Colouring Sheets and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower Thinlits and Dylusions Word Love stamp set for the title.
I began my applying a light and patchy coat of Speckled Egg Distress Paint using Tim Holtz new Distress Medium Brayer. I added torn sections of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I applied Dylusions Fresh Lime and Squeezed Orange Paint through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mosaic and Crate Layering Stencil using a mini round blending tool and the new domed foams. I trimmed out the border designs from Dylusions Colouring Sheets, fixed to the pages using Distress Collage Medium Matte and coloured lightly with diluted Fresh Lime paint using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I inked the word stamps from Dylusions Word Love with Versafine Clair Nocturne, stamped on to plain Idea-ology Collage Paper, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine Detail Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I used a paintbrush with water to trace around each word, gently teased the excess paper away with my fingers and fixed to the pages using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die-cut the extra letters to complete the title from Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower Thinlits and fixed in place.
To finish I added more torn sections of the Typeset Collage Paper to fill in some of the gaps on the pages.
I added a black edge to the pages using Dylusions Black Marble paint applied using a mini round blending tool and domed foam.
Why don't you pop over to the Monday Challenge Blog and check out the amazing creations from my very talented Design Team mates and as always you have until Monday 8am Ohio time...1pm UK time...2 pm CET to join in with the chance to win a $25 voucher to spend online at Simon Says Stamp.
