It's Snowing

Happy Saturday my friends, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I'm delighted that finally it's snowing in my neck of the woods and I'm looking forward to a crafty weekend, snug as a bug in a rug, in my cosy happy place.

In the meantime, I'm sharing more snowflake themed cards using products from Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Season January Card Kit. The kit has sold out but some of the products are still available to buy individually HERE

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and stamped the snowflake images from the Snowflake Season stamp set randomly over the background using Dusty Concord Distress Oxide and Black Soot Distress Archival. I die-cut the panel using the SSS Eliza Snowflake die included in the kit.
I inked around the edge of the panel with Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed to a panel of co-ordinating paper from the Whimsy Stamps Blurry Flurries 6" x 6" papers. I placed the snowflakes back into their negative spaces and puzzle pieced the circles and centre sections back in, fixed in place with dots of adhesive and set the snowflakes aside to use later.
I stamped the Hello Friend sentiment from the stamp set, inked with Dusty Concord Distress Oxide, on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card
I die-cut the stamped sentiment using the largest circle die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Circle Thinlits and popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
To finish I added Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal sequins, matted the panel on to an A2 Simon Says Stamp Black card blank and added a white panel on the inside to write a message.
I trimmed one of the Whimsy Stamps Blurry Flurries papers to 4" x 5.1/4", fixed the left over snowflakes from the previous card around the top edge using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I stamped the small snowflake image from the stamp set randomly over the background, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I stamped the Hello Friend sentiment on to a scrap of Simon Says Sea Glass card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival and fixed behind the aperture on the panel which was cut using a circle die. I stamped the image again on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, die-cut using the largest die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Thinlits, popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension and added a twine bow.
To finish, I added a dashed line around the inside edge of the aperture using a Black Micron Pen, added Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal Sequins and matted the panel on to an A2 Simon Says Stamp Black card blank.
Enjoy what's left of your weekend and I'll be back on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Snowflake Season

Hi my friends, I've been trying to play catch up with all the Happy Mail arrivals in January starting off with the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit - Snowflake Season and the beautiful Snowflake Frame from the Die-Cember release. The kit has sold out but some items are still available to purchase individually HERE. I've been itching to play with this kit because I love snowflakes and seeing as Winter has yet to arrive in my neck of the woods, we seem to be the only part of the UK that hasn't had significant snowfall, I may well have to content myself with snowflakes of the stamped and die-cut variety.

I created 2 cards using the Snowflake Season 6" x 8" stamp set, Whimsy Stamps Blurry Furries 6" x 6" papers, Simon Says Silver Holographic Copper Design Cardstock and the Simon Says Eliza Snowflake die, all from the kit along with the Snowflake Frame from the Die-Cember release and two old favourites, Simon Says Stitched Slopes and Village dies.
I began by die-cutting the Snowflake Frame from Simon Says #120 Ultra White Card.
I coloured the centre section with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool, spritzed with water and blotted with kitchen towel to create the water droplet look
I fixed the snowflake frame to Whimsy Stamps Blurry Flurries paper trimmed to 4.1/4" x 5.1/2" and matted on to Simon Says Soft Navy Card trimmed to 4.1/2" x 5.3/4". I stamped the sentiments from Snowflake Season, inked with Faded Jeans Distress Archival on to the snowflake frame and a scrap of Simon Says #120 Ultra White card.
I die-cut the sentiment using a circle die and the extra snowflakes from the Snowflake Frame die from Simon Says #120 Ultra White card and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal sequins and a dashed border using a Black Micro Pen.

I matted the panel on to a 4.3/4" x 6" white card blank.

I coloured the left over outer section of the snowflake frame with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and trimmed to fit over the Whimsy Stamps Blurry Flurries paper trimmed to 4.1/4" x 5.1/2". I stamped the sentiment from Snowflake Season inked with Faded Jeans Distress Archival.
I die-cut Simon Says Stitched Slopes and the houses from Village from #120 Ultra White card and the trees from the silver holographic card. I coloured the houses using Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink.
I fixed the Stitched Slopes and Village die-cuts to the Blurry Flurries panel and fixed the snowflake frame on top. I die-cut the Simon Says Eliza snowflake included in the kit from holographic paper backed with Sizzix Adhesive Sheet, fixed at the corners and trimmed off the excess. I matted the panel on to Simon Says Soft Navy card trimmed to 4.1/2" x 5.3/4".
I added Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal sequins and matted the panel on to a 4.3/4" x 6" white card blank.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned and I'll be back soon to share more winter cards, using the snowflake stamps from the Snowflake Season stamp set.

Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 1 - Oliver Colorize

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the Baby Display Hanger project I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Sizzix 2021 Chapter 1 release using the gorgeous Oliver Colorize, Stretch Lower and Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits. If you missed the Live launch, pop over to Tim's Blog HERE where you can check out the whole collection, watch the YouTube Live and see all the amazing inspirational makes listed under each Maker.

I began by trimming panels of  Sizzix Making Essentials Eclectic Colors which has a linen look texture and Distress Watercolor card to create the banner, added shadows to the edges of each layer with Walnut Stain Distress ink and applied Speckled Egg Distress Ink through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Hearts Layering Stencil on the top layer. I fixed the layers in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and machine stitched each layer using white thread. I fixed Sizzix Adhesive sheet to Distress Watercolor card and die-cut BABY 4 times using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stretch Lower Thinlits and layered to create dimension. I die-cut various sizes of hearts from the Sizzix cardstock and Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Heartfelt BigZ die, added yellow Eclectic Elements Thread and fixed the hearts in place using Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut BOY,  the extra O's from Distress Watercolor card and the small crosses from Sizzix Yellow Cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Bold Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive sheet to Sizzix Neutral Cardstock and Distress Watercolor card, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Oliver Colorize and assembled following the indent markings on each die-cut. I fixed the grassy tuft in place with Distress Collage Medium and Oliver popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive.
I added Glossy Accents to his nose and dots to the centre of the crosses using a Sakura Black Glaze pen.
I attached an Idea-ology Dislay Hanger to the top of the banner, added an Idea-ology ChitChat sticker and a double bow using pale blue ribbon from my stash.

I'll be back tomorrow to share some winter snowflake cards, in the meantime, stay cosy and have fun with whatever you are creating

I Called To Say I Love You

Hi my friends, it's 2 posts in one day Wednesday and I'm back to share another card I made with a Love Is In The Air theme, a super quick and easy card to make using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks to create the background, Simon Says Stamp super cute Dial Phone from the Die-Cember release, Love Greetings mix stamp set and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Text Lower Thinlits to complete this declaration of love. And maybe you too are singing along with that beautiful song "I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.

I smooshed Worn Lipstick and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxides inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I laid an A5 panel of Distress Watercolor card into the ink, dried and tapped back into the ink to pick up the remaining droplets.
I inked the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Love Greetings Mix with Intense Black ink and stamped at the bottom of the panel.
I die-cut Simon Says Stamp Dial Phone from Simon Says Stamp Black and Ultra White cardstock
I dipped my fingers into Distress Collage Medium Matte and rang them along a piece of black twine. I twisted the twine into loops and pressed on to the panel to resemble a telephone cord. I fixed the white dial section and black centre in place with Distress Collage Medium and popped the phone up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to add dimension.
I added the black dial sections back into their negative spaces. I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock and die-cut the sentiment using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Text Lower. And once again, my little pot of waste hearts from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits came in handy, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and made shiny with a coat of Glossy Accents.

I matted the panel on to Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock and fixed to a white card blank.
I'll be back tomorrow to share another Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 1 project, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are creating.

Love Is In The Air

Hi my friends, Love Is In The Air in the cubbyhole. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I gathered some supplies (old and new) from Tim Holtz and Simon Says Stamp to have some fun making love themed cards.

and starting off with a "mix and match - couldn't be more different from each other" duo

I trimmed Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock to measure 5.1/4" square and applied Distress Opague White Texture Paste through Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts stencil.
I spritzed two A5 panels of Distress Watercolor card with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Spray, smooshed Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat to add a hint of red to one of the panels and die-cut the flowers and leaves using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bloom Colorize Thinlits.
I die-cut the letters 4 times from the Antique Linen panel and Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower Thinlits, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium stacked to create dimension and fixed to the panel and added Glossy Accents. I fixed the leaves in place with Distress Collage Medium and added the flower popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive.
I inked the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Love Greetings Mix with Intense Black ink, stamped on to a scrap of the Antique Linen card, trimmed and fixed to the panel with Sizzix Foam Adhesive.
To finish, I matted the panel on to a 5.1/2" square top folding white card blank.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 5.1/4" square. I smooshed Black Soot and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink pads on to the craft mat on my Glass Media, spritzed with water, laid the panel into the ink, dried and then tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets. I die-cut an aperture (intending to make a shaker card but changed my mind) using Sizzix Circle Framelits.
With the shaker idea off the agenda, I popped the circle back into the negative space, coloured Distress Opague White Texture Paste with Barn Door Distress Re-inker and applied through Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Stencil.
I inked the script and specimen circle images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Toadstools with Black Soot and Barn Door Distress Archival inks and stamped randomly over the panel. I die-cut LOVE 4 times from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stretch Lower Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I fixed the panel to a 5.1/2 square white card blank, die-cut the characters and umbrella from Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock 3 times using Tim Holtz/Sizzix The Park Thinlits, flipped the die-cut gent to face his lady love and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
To complete the sentiment I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to a scrap of Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and die-cut YOU using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Text Lower Thinlits.
To finish I added white hearts from my little pot of waste die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Falling Hearts Thinlits.
I'll be back later today to share another Love Is In The Air card, in the meantime, have fun with whatever your are creating.
