Simon Says - New/Unused Product

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

As it's the first Monday of the month, the design team are showing a brand/company and this week we are all using fabulous products from Brutus Monroe. You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them, we would love to see what you make with them.
We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Anita Rao aka Beads, Charms and Wire as our Designer In The Spotlight. If you haven't visited her blog, pop over and say Hi, you are in for a real treat.
the theme for this week is...
NEW/UNUSED PRODUCT
I created a New Year card using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bold Tidings 1 and Winterscape along with new to me products from Brutus Monroe, Gilded/ Sterling Sparkle and Alabaster Ultra Detail Embossing Powders.

I inked the Bold Tidings sentiment with Versamark ink and stamped on to a 5" x 7" panel of Tim Holtz Black Alcohol Ink cardstock. I sprinkled the Gilded and Sterling Silver Sparkle powders from the lids with my fingers over the inked image and tapped off the excess on to scrap paper. You could save this mix in a separate pot for later use.
I heat set to reveal the gorgeous sparkle effect. I inked the snow flurries image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Winterscape with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Ultra Detail Embossing Powder.
I tapped the Versamark ink pad lightly around the edges and heat embossed with Alabaster, creating a little bit of a snow bank ready for my Winterscape Snowman.
I inked the snowman image from Winterscape with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card. I used a Distress Embossing Pen on the hat, nose, scarf, the edges of his body and the broom, sprinkled with Distress Embossing Glazes and heat set. I fussy cut and fixed to the bottom of the panel using Distress Collage Medium.
I used the snowflake stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat Christmas inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Gilded Sparkle Embossing Powder to fill in some of the blank areas.
I heat embossed scraps of Distress Watercolor card with Gilded and Sterling Sparkle Embossing powders, die-cut the numbers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Lower Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

To finish I fixed the panel to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
And boy, the sparkle on this card is amazing and it doesn't seem to matter how careful you are about returning sparkly embossing powder to it's pot, it seems hell bent on escaping and attaching itself to everything, the cubbyhole floor, my hair, face, sweater and jogging pants so I think it's time to invest in some magical swiffer cloths.
