Simon Says...Time Out

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
TIME OUT
I created a fun funky colourful Art Journal page in my Dylusions Creative Journal dedicated to my favourite pastime, taking time out to sit in the garden with a cup of coffee, in the company of my Furry Cubbyhole Companion and the resident birds.
I started off by stamping the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Inventor 1 on to Idea-ology Plain Collage Paper with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival and tore the paper into 3 strips.
I applied a light coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint to the pages and fixed the stamped strips in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I painted the pages with a light coat of  Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough Distress Paints. I didn't clean my brush between colours so that the colours would blend across the page instead of having harsh lines
I applied Picket Fence Distress Paint through the Idea-ology Splotches Layering Stencil with a mini round blending tool, stamped the image from Inventor 1 again on to plain Collage Paper, inked with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
At this point I realised that the original Inventor images didn't show through the paint and stencilling very well so I re-stamped them with Black Soot Distress Archival on to plain Collage Paper and fixed on top of the original stamping using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die cut the tea cups using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tea Time BigZ die, coloured them with Abandoned Coral and Evergreen Distress Oxide inks and used Grid Dot and Stripes Mini Layering Stencils to create a pattern on each cup.
I die-cut the flowers and foliage from Distress Watercolor Card using Funky Florals 3 and Garden Greens and coloured the die-cuts with Distress Oxide re-inkers using the Detailer Water Brush.

I die cut the words from Distress Watercolor card and black card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thinlits and layered them to create drop shadows
I finished off by adding Idea-ology Numbers Remnant Rubs and used Black Soot Distress Paint to edge the pages and to create splatters.

It's All About Flowers...Day 4

Hi Everyone, it's Friday, the last day of the week and also my last day of sharing cards made with Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers stamp set and papers from the 49th & Market Virtual Artistry Paper Pad. It's a "two cards for the price of one" day and here's the first...
and you may have noticed there are more and more products from my adorable Professor creeping in. I make no apologies, I just can't help myself and it just goes to prove how versatile they are and that they don't have to be used for grungy, Distress can be pretty too.
I started off by trimming down one of the Virtual Artistry papers to be slightly smaller than the 6" square Black card blank and stamped the script image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide.
I lightly inked around the edges of the panel with Frayed Burlap using the mini round blending tool and used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mixed Media 5 Thinlits to die cut the floral image from the panel. paper. I coloured a scrap of card with Frayed Burlap and fixed behind.
I created splatters on the background using Black Soot and Picket Fence Distress Paints and flicked on some droplets of Anitque Bronze Distress Mica Spray. I fussy cut around the edges of the left over Even More Spring Flowers die cuts from yesterday to remove the white border, coloured the flowers with the Antique Bronze Distress Mica Spray and the leaves with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink using the Detailer Water Brush. I coloured the centres with a Sharpie Black Fine Line Pen and added dots with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen. I added strips of Idea-ology Chatter Design Tape and pricked holes around the edges with Tim Holtz Craft Pick.
I ran the Sharpie Black Fine Point Pen along the rows of pricked holes which creates realistic faux stitching and stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks Words on to a scrap of paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. The camera really doesn't do it justice but I love the shimmer on the flowers and the splatters on the background.
 and the second card...
As before I trimmed the Virtual Artistry paper down to be slightly smaller than the 6" x 6" card blank and stamped the Batik image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Botanical and Batik with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink.
followed by the bee image from Entomology inked with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink.
I die cut the planks from Distress Woodgrain Card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Planks BigZ die, coloured with Evergreen Bough and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxides and darkened the edges with Black Soot Distress Marker.
I stamped lots of images from Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers on to Distress Watercolor Card using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink, coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and a Detailer Water Brush and die cut using the matching dies.
I fixed the planks in place with 3D foam and arranged the bouquet of Even |More Spring Flowers. I added splatters of White Gesso and Black Soot Distress Paint, added Ranger Black and White Enamel Accents to the centres of the flowers and coloured the bodies of the bees with a Mustard Seed Distress Marker.
I die cut 3 layers of the Script Thanks and fixed to the planks with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I created faux stitching around the edge of the panel and added trails to the bees with a Sharpie Black Fine Point Pen
I hope you've enjoyed the "It's All About Flowers" cards, as much as I've enjoyed making them...it's been a fun "going with the flow" playtime adventure.
Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you all on Monday with my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. You still have time to join in with this week's Flower Power Challenge with the chance to win a $50 gift certificate for Simon Says Online Store, so look out your flower stamps, dies and embellishments and have fun creating.
Toodle-oo for now

It's All About Flowers...Day 3

Hi folks, it's Thursday and Day 3 of  my "It's All About Flowers" crafting adventure using Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers stamp set and the gorgeous 49th & Market Virtual Artistry Papers.
I trimmed a sheet of the Virtual Artistry paper to be slightly smaller than the 6" x 6" square card blank and applied Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink through the Latticework Mini Layering Stencil from Set No 4.
I cut small sections from various papers to create a collage, inked the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I stamped the flowers and leaves from Even More Spring Flowers with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink on to Distress Watercolor card
and die cut using the matching dies. I wasn't sure at this point which flowers I would use but any left-overs will be stored for use later in the handy envelope that comes with the dies.
I coloured the images with Worn Lipstick and Pumice Stone Distress Re-inkers using the Detailer Water Brush and I know that crocuses are not pink but I'm using Artistic Licence here and hey in crafting, anything goes.
I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Glorious Bouquet inked with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black to add some interest in the corners
fixed the flowers and leaves in place and added Ranger Black Enamel Accents to the centre of the small flower.
I die cut the word Thanks from black Distress Core'dinations cardstock 3 times  using Simon Says Stamp Script Thanks die, stamped the sentiment from Glorious Bouquet on to a small tag and added an Electic Elements White Thread bow.
I'll be back tomorrow to share the last of the "It's All About Flowers" cards, in the meantime, have fun whatever you're creating.

It's All About Flowers...Day 2

Hi folks, I'm sharing another "It's All About Flowers" card, using Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers and Big Thanks Words stamp set and the 49th & Market Virtual Artistry 6" x 6" paper pad.
I was inspired by this gorgeous paper with just a hint of colour and detail at the bottom corner, so I stamped two of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ornate Trims with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White Detail embossing powder.
and to match in with the colours already on the paper, I blended on Antique Linen and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides
and a little bit of Frayed Burlap before adding some water splashes
I used the script stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology inked with Frayed Burlap to add detail to the background.
I stamped the flowers and leaves from SSS Even More Spring Flowers on to Distress Watercolor card, die cut with the matching dies and coloured with Zig Clean Color Markees using the Distress Detailer Brush.
I wound twine around the edge of the panel, added a double twine bow and fixed the flowers and leaves in place with 3D foam pads.
I stamped the sentiments from SSS Big Thanks Words with Tea Dye Distress Ink and SSS Intense Black...
highlighted the Thanks with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen and added a butterfly cut out from another sheet of the same paper...
and added Pretty Pink Posh Share Kindness sequins
I'll see you all tomorrow with Even More SpringFlowers, in the meantime, happy crafting
