Simon Says - Let's Sparkle

As it's the first Monday of the month, the Design Team are showcasing one particular brand or company and this week, we are all using some fabulous products from Brutus Monroe.
We are also welcoming back the lovely and very talented Autumn into the Designer Spotlight and if you haven't visited her blog before, then you are in for a real treat.

the theme this week is

LET'S SPARKLE

I decorated a Medium Etcetera Tag using the super cute White Christmas stamp set from Brutus Monroe, added lots of Tim Holtz Idea-ology goodies and a liberal dusting of Distress Mica Flakes for the sparkle.

I began by trimming paper from Tim Holtz 8" x 8" Christmas Paper Stash to cover the top half of the tag. I used Simon Says Stamp Shimmer Wreath die from the DieCember release to cut an aperture.

I inked the image from White Christmas with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, stamped on to Strathmore Bristol Smooth card and coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.

I trimmed around the top edges of the image leaving a white border.

I replaced the circle into the aperture, tucked the bottom section inside the aperture, leaving the tree sections outside and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte

I fixed the paper to the Etcetera Tag with Distress Collage Medium Matte, curled up the edges of the trees to create dimension and added a torn piece of Idea-ology Christmas paper to cover the bottom of the tag.

I fixed 4 Scallop Etcetera Trims together using Distress Collage Medium, painted with White Gesso and fixed to the tag with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I added an Idea-ology Frozen Finding, a generous coat of Distress Grit Paste and a liberal sprinkling of Distress Mica Flakes.

I spritzed an Idea-ology Half Woodland Tree with Peeled Paint Distress Spray and once it was dry, tapped Distress Grit Paste on to the tips using my finger. I sprinkled with Distress Mica Flakes and added Idea-ology Metallic Droplets.

I added Ephemera from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Sticker book and Quote Chips. I applied a layer of Distress Collage Medium Matte over the background and the Ephemera and sprinkled with more Distress Mica Flakes. I used a Ground Espresso Distress Crayon to add shading around the aperture and the Ephemera.

I added Stick Bundles from my stash, White Pom Poms, pine cones from Idea-ology Festive Adornments, painted with Gathered Twigs Distress Paint and tipped with Distress Grit Paste, an Idea-ology Christmas Word and Christmas Remnant Rubs. 

I then prepared myself to do battle with my camera and it's dislike of anything that sparkles.
