and Mother Nature never ceases to amaze...after days of relentless rain the flowers in the garden were in a sorry looking state but after 2 or 3 days of sunshine they've made a blooming marvellous recovery and are pointing their heads towards the sun again...
the hydrangea that hasn't flowered since I pruned it back 2 years ago (apparently that's a big NO NO) has also made a miraculous recovery...and my favourite hanging basket resident of 2014 must be this gorgeous Fuschia coloured Petunia with petals like velvet...
I've decided to close the "Cards and Crafts for Christmas" Give-Away at 8pm tonight...busy busy week kicking off on Monday and you know me and my memory so I'll announce the winner tomorrow...get it parcelled up for the Post Office run first thing Monday.

ReplyDeleteKate. Good for you taking yourself out of the craft room and enjoying this spell of good weather, all that extra vitamin D will be good as we don't know what the winter has in store. Love your flowers those colours are gorgeous. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteWho can resist enjoying this extra sunshine, and all the flowers agree.x

Lovely snaps of your garden hun xxx
ReplyDeleteJust back from a few lovely days away enjoying the sunshine and the garden looks lovely, better than when we went away x
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of lunch Kath, looks lush. I like to walk round our garden as there is always something new to see, although I am not impressed with the mushrooms that keep popping up overnight. Can't have little Twinkle eating them. Big hugs. X
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Kath. Isn't it lovely seeing the flowers having another flush of colour before everything starts to wind-down for the winter.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Your garden flowers are absolutely gorgeous Kath, especially that beautiful clematis. The weather has been so lovely but those dreaded nights are drawing in now, so we need to enjoy the sun while we can. They said we could possibly see a little of the Northern Lights this week but sadly, here, it has been very overcast in the evenings.... sigh. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteVincent van Gogh said "if you love nature you'll find beauty everywhere" and I couldn't agree more Kath...nothing makes me happier than those colourful surprises we get for free!!! You can prune back your hydrangea -even to the ground- and normally you should be without flowers for one year. I always cut them back every other 2 branches so I'm never without those gorgeous big balls of colour!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, xx Irene
You are correct, Kath. No one can water a lawn or garden like Mother Nature. Your flowers look lovely. Hugs and ear scratches to your handsome furry boy.
ReplyDeletelovely photos Kath - we've also had smashing summery weather and caught up in the garden tidying up - temperature seems to have dropped ten degrees today and I'll be putting the central heating on this evening! your photos are lovely and your lunch looks scrummy! Hello furry boy, hope you are ok, Mary x
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gorgeous alfresco lunch! The photos are stunning, so beautiful!
