I do love snowflakes...

Hi folks...I was over the moon when my lovely buddy Paula sent me her new Christmas dies to play with...she's such a sweetheart...so kind and generous and I was so excited that the Winter Borders & Rosette set was all about SNOWFLAKES...you know me... I do love snowflakes...
I had great fun putting together some cards using my other crafting obsession...DOTS or CIRCLES...

mixing and matching the snowflakes with the Oval Cards Set of Dies and stamps from Paula's Mixed Christmas Messages...

and the papers I used were from Dovecrafts Collection....Krafty Christmas

I'll be back tomorrow to share more "Inspired By Paula" cards

Happy Holidays...

Hi Everyone...it's Friday...this old crafty girl's birthday and when you're away from home...what better to celebrate than spending the day in the company of lovely crafty folks and no doubt I'll be raising a glass or two tonight with my fabulous fun Fiskars buddies...
But back to the crafty stuff...I'm sharing my DT project for this month's challenge over at Inspiration Journal...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Holiday Cards...Gift and Wrapping Ideas
why not create your very own Christmas wrapping paper with Avery Elle Stamps and Dies and a pack of  "cheap as chips" brown paper parcel wrap from the supermarket
stamping with Versamark and Heat Embossing with White Embossing Powder...
stamping again with Versamark and the smallest snowflake with Ranger Archival Forget-Me-Not...
and once the box was wrapped...decorating with die cut snowflakes...a tag and gorgeous sparkly wired Christmas ribbon...a huge roll bought many years ago from Costco...
I have a huge collection of snowflake dies in the cubbyhole but I am very impressed with the quality of these dies from Avery Elle...they are an absolute dream to work with...despite being very intricate and detailed...they die cut beautifully every time through 300gsm cardstock...
and with the help of my cubbyhole must-have Stick It...they were a dream to stick down...
We would love to see you joining in the "Happy Holidays" challenge over at Inspiration Journal with the chance to win a fabulous 50 Emporium dollars to spend at Inspiration Emporium and remember if you decide to hop over for a little bit of shopping...use my code "allthatglitter" at checkout to receive a 10% discount off your order.  Shipping costs are cool too...$5 to the US and $10 International.
Every Monday the Inspiration Team showcase their projects at Inspiration Journal and there are always fabulous makes to inspire you.
I'll see you all tomorrow to share what I made with Paula's fabulous new Christmas dies.

Ready To Rock 'n Roll...

Hi folks...the fabulous Fiskars crew survived Set Up Day once again...we've been fed watered caught up with all gossip and are all now tucked up in bed and after a good nights sleep I'll be ready to rock 'n roll with all the lovely crafters coming to today's workshops...so if you want to join me for some Fiskars fun...the workshops are free but places go really fast and booking is essential to avoid disappointment...so come and find me at J12 in the Workshop Area when you arrive at the show and hey why not give yourselves a real treat and book up for the workshops with my fabulous crafting buddies...Pete Hughes from Sizzix (J04) and the Jenny Muncaster from Pebeo (J03) at the same time.
In the meantime I'm sharing the other 2 projects I made for the Fiskars commission in this month's issue of Simply Homemade...a rather cute Button...Needles and Pins or Accessories Box...

and if you remember my first adventure making a pin cushion with Tim's fabulous Eclectic Elements Fabrics...
yes the quick little number that took hours of hand stitching to complete...totally unsuitable for a magazine commission so I came up with a simplified version...sat atop a "cheap as chips" papier mache box...

I'll be back tomorrow to share my DT project for the November Challenge over at Inspiration Journal.

I'm still pinching myself...exciting news...

Hi folks...woooohoooo I can't tell you how excited I am that at last I can share the "I'm still pinching myself" news with you all...my crafty buddy...the absolutely adorable and very talented KEN OLIVER  is coming back to Scotland...
bringing his "ART AT THE EDGE" workshops to The PAPETERIE...woohoo 3 days of crafting fun to look forward to in November...
wow how lucky are we...a definitely not to be missed opportunity to get creative with KEN. I've booked my space at the "ART AT THE EDGE" Workshops and I'm delighted to have been asked to teach some workshops too...so why not come along and join the Papeterie's favourite Honorary Scotsman and his crazy crafty sidekick...it's guaranteed to be lots of FUN.
For more information or to book your place...call The Papeterie on 01224 802337
But back to the day job...I'll soon be waving goodbye to the cubbyhole and heading for Birmingham and believe me after last week's crazy "whatever was I thinking" DIY adventure...4 days of Fiskars workshops at The NEC are going to feel like a holiday...
I'm really looking forward to spending some fun time with my lovely Fiskars buddies...meeting up again with my crafty friends (including the lovely Mr Oliver) and welcoming all those lovely folks to the Fiskars workshops but first I have to get myself through the airport without any embarrassing incidents and run the gauntlet of a hectic Set Up Day.
I've scheduled some posts while I'm away but just in case Mr Blogger has another of his hissy fit tantrums...I'm sharing some sneaky peeks of crafty makes to come...

Fingers crossed I'll see you all tomorrow and if you're planning a visit to The NEC...please pop by and say hello.

A Stitch In Time...

Hi folks...thanks to the Furry Boy's quick thinking and my wonderful "stitch in time...saves nine" friends...the fabulous "they know me so well" Friday Girls...I'm back in the land of the living.  They whisked me off for a wonderful relaxing spa day yesterday...an early birthday pressie and wow...it's amazing what a bit of body pummeling with magic hands can do...I'm back on track and feel as though I could jog to Birmingham...well that's maybe a little bit of an exaggeration but at least I can now put one foot past the other without feeling as though I've been run over by a steam roller and am no longer walking like a pregnant duck...
And talking of "A Stitch In Time"...I'm sharing a "close up" of the needlecase I made for the Fiskars project in this month's issue of Simply Homemade

love the perfect stamping you get using The Fuse Letterpress technique on felt...
It's early to bed tonight and up with the lark tomorrow morning...the start of another "woohoo Birmingham here I come" adventure and I've got some super duper very special exciting news to share tomorrow.

The Walking Wounded...

Hey everyone...it's a Happy "Good News" Monday morning from this particular cubbyhole "walking wounded" casualty...yes it's your favourite bundle of golden deliciousness...
I have only half a kilo to lose to reach my target weight...woof...woof...you're looking at the star of Fat Club again last week and if I can do the business this week...I'll be back on normal rations and that's a double woof...woof. And the painful dodgy shoulder problem has sorted itself out...I got the A1 fighting fit thumbs up from the vet after trotting up and down the car park... it's official...you can't keep a good dog down...permission to resume hooligan antics and lunchtime trips to the forest are back on the daily routine list but not today apparently because my old Mum has now joined the club...her old nemesis..."the day after the day after" syndrome has kicked in...she's got all the symptoms of having been trampled by a stampeding herd of elephants...run over by a bus and hit by a high speed train but we all know her stubborn "why put off until tomorrow what you can do today" DIY atitude has jumped up and bitten her on the bum again...will she never learn.
And there's no time to waste...drastic measures are called for before the old body seizes up completely...it's time to call in the cavalry or the Friday Girls to you and me...they will know what to do.
Fingers crossed we can get the old crafty lady back on track again...

DIY versus Crafting...

Hi folks...is today going to be a crafting or a DIY day...well after darn near killing myself on Thursday/Friday hopping up and down that stepladder...I'm hanging up my DIY hat for a while...in fact the way I feel right now the next stage may have to wait until the other side of Christmas...I'm not stressing about the cubbyhole 2-tone look and can't continue anyway until hubby recovers from the first flatpack encounter...tackles number 2 and demolishes the rest of the shelves...
I have to say I'm absolutely loving the new storage from Argos...
especially the drawers...perfect for holding all my Fiskars Dies and Punches...

so it's going to be a crosswords...coffee and a little bit of gentle crafting kind of a day having fun with the gorgeous new dies that my lovely buddy Paula very kindly sent me to play with...

A Cute Threesome...

Hi folks...crikey the first day of November...4 days left before I head off to Birmingham and leave the DIY behind...no doubt I'll be running around until then like a cat with a scalded bum or a chicken with no head...take your pick but I have some "made ages ago but couldn't share at the time" projects up my sleeve...a trio of cute sewing accessories I made for a Fiskars project in this month's issue of Simply Homemade using the Fuse Creativity System...Curvy Square Die and Expansion Pack along with Tim's fabulous Eclectic Elements fabrics...
Us crafty folks can be very critical about our work and I'm more picky than most but hey I really loved this cute little threesome and really didn't want to send them off to the magazine...I'll be showing them in more detail later in the week.
Woohoo...I've got a birthday party to go to today...can't believe Brodie is 10 already.
See you all tomorrow
