Mixed Messages Indeed...

Hi folks...it's Monday morning and back to the crazy crafty work stuff...lots to do before I head off to The NEC in a 2 and a bit weeks...crikey where does time go but enough waffling...it's time to share what we made at Kath's Klub at The Papeterie on Saturday morning with the class give-away stamp set...
Mixed Christmas Messages
from my lovely buddy Paula Pascual...
available from The Papeterie or online HERE
with a little fun spritzing session using Tim's new Distress Spray Stains thrown in for good measure...
the gorgeous Snowflakes are from the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 8Pk with stamps Snowflakes 2...also designed by Paula...

And seeing as we're on the subject of mixed messages...crikey what's going on with the weather...one minute it's blue sky albeit a bit cool and the next it's blowing an almighty hooley with rain like stair rods and sure as fate if I don the Nanook Of The North gear for our morning stroll...the sun comes out and if I don't...you can guarantee I'll be drookit by the time we arrive home and I'm not having much luck with the heating either...switch it on and I'm too hot...switch it off and I'm freezing...it's a "you're damned if you do and damned if you don't" can't win either way situation. But I'll be back tomorrow to share what we made at the afternoon workshop and one thing's for sure...today is going to be one of those "hi ho hi ho...it's off to work I go" kind of days.

The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge...October

Hi folks...more than halfway through October already and the third Sunday of the month means it's time to hop on over to The Ribbon Girls and play along with this month's Colour Challenge which is...
WHITE
I had lots of fun building up layers on this...excuse the pun "blank canvas" to add much touchy feely texture...

The challenge will run for one week and will close at 9pm UK time on Saturday 25th October...as always there's a fabulous prize for one lucky winner...
 and
but before you head off to your crafty space to create your "WHITE" masterpiece...pop over to The Ribbon Girls for some gorgeous inspiration from my fellow teamies. I'm looking forward to a lazy chilling out Sunday before the crazy crafty work stuff kicks off again tomorrow and I hope you'll enjoy the day too whatever you've got planned.

Fingers Crossed...

Hi folks...I'm doing a little woohoo this morning...in a quiet whispery "not tempting fate" voice...I think I may have managed to head the dreaded sniffles off at the pass...a couple of early nights...loads of hot lemon/honey drinks and 4 hourly pill popping sessions seem to have done the trick...I suspect the stuffed up sneezy fuzzy feeling may well have been the old body's reaction to the central heating being turned on again but you never know...such an optimistic statement has turned round and bitten me on the bum in the past so here's hoping with all fingers crossed.
And back to the crafty stuff...a quick make with my new best friend...the gorgeous Layered Snowflake...
and it seems we're back to challenging photography dark dreich days again...despite my best efforts...the camera refuses to show the sparkly twinkly Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy glittery finish on the snowflake and that's easier to type than it is to say...

I have so many ideas running around in my head for this boy but I won't be putting them into practice today...instead I'll be heading back to The Papeterie...yes twice in one week...what a treat...to meet up with the lovely folks who come along to join in the fun at Kath's Klub.
But before I go...I've had a couple of  "can you help" e-mails from crafty folks who have purchased the Holiday Words Script Thinlits Set and have been unable to either get a clean cut on these beautiful intricate words or struggled to eject them from the die...
I'm casting no aspersions here because I am the world's worst at diving in head first and only consulting the instructions when it goes horribly wrong...in fact I'm an honorary member of the "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones" club but if you flip over the packaging leaflet...Sizzix share some "help is at hand" hints and tips...
"because of their intricacy...Thinlits dies may require up to three passes to cut" and "place wax paper between material and die for improved ejection"...
yeah...it's as simple as that folks...despaireth no more...problem solved and there's no need to purchase those mega expensive rolls of "die-cutting" wax paper either...my cheap as chips at £1.99 for a 10 metre roll of non stick baking paper from my local Aldi works a treat. And if you're thinking they may just be a tad fiddly to stick down...head on over to Craft Obsessions and stock up on the fabulous STICK IT...the easy peasy perfect adhesive solution for all your intricate die cuts.
Enjoy whatever you're doing this weekend and I'll see you all tomorrow over at The Ribbon Girls for a brand new Colour Challenge

How Lucky Am I...

Hi folks...what a treat...how lucky am I to have had 2 woohoo days in a row...I had the best fun yesterday meeting up with my lovely buddy Astrid at The Papeterie...
there was coffee...cake...a lotta lotta chatting and just time for a bit of shopping and time doesn't half fly by when you're having fun...all too soon it was time to say farewell and head home to a lovely surprise...a beautiful card had arrived in the mail from the lovely Lorraine...just to say thank you for the pack of Stick It that she won in the give-away...
isn't it absolutely gorgeous...one that will have pride of place in the cubbyhole...thank you so much Lorraine...that was very sweet of you.
And it's back to the cubbyhole and the crafty list today but hey if I can swing it...I'm planning on sneaking in a bit more fun playtime with the new boy...the gorgeous Layered Snowflake...
But I think my luck may be about to run out...feeling decidedly shivery and sneezing for Scotland...I don't have time to entertain a cold...so it's time to enlist the help of the big guns...Messrs Neurofen...Lemon and worth it's weight in gold...Manuka Honey.

A Woohoo kind of day...

Hi folks...crikey another week flying in and there's been a distinct drop in temperature in my neck of the woods...real "Jack Frost nipping at your nose" morning strolls...winter isn't too far away and if the old memory serves me right...I'm sure we had a little flurry of snow in October last year...brrrrr...time to turn the heating up a notch and head for the cosy cubbyhole...all snug and warm with my furry "snores like a train " bundle of deliciousness for company...the only problem is he just flops down wherever so it looks like I'm in for a "stepping carefully over the chunky hooligan" kind of a day...
Out for the count and fast asleep you might think...but don't be fooled...the canine early warning system is always set at high alert...ready to announce with a huge woof that there's a VIP making his way down the drive-away and about to rat-a-tat tat on the door...surprise surprise it's our favourite Royal Mail Postie heralding the much anticipated arrival of the "happy mail" pre-order TH Christmas goodies...I'm muchly excited that the gorgeous Layered Snowflake c/w Texture Fade and the Christmas Shadowpress Debossing Folders are now resident in the cubbyhole...
along with the beautiful Holiday Words Script Thinlits...
17 dies with all the Christmas sentiments you'll ever need kept together safely in their own little pouch...
and I just couldn't resist clearing a space on my workdesk to have a little play and woohoo with Stick It...that fabulous adhesive for intricate die cuts...fixing it down was an easy peasy piece of cake...
but far more important than any of the crafty stuff was the arrival of the one thing I definitely can't live without...an absolutely must-have product if I don't want to scare the living daylights out of the postie"...I'm in a panic when I'm down to the last few drops of the fabulous elixir that tames the birds' nest hair each and every morning...yes it's my favourite favourite Ojon Revitalising Mist...
now if they could come up with a product with magical revitalising properties for the old body...I'd be ordering it by the crate load. Playtime and worky stuff will be put on hold today...I'm heading off to The Papeterie to meet up with one very special fellow TH addict and bloggy bud...the lovely and very talented Astrid...woohoo I'm excited...excited...it's going to be a coffee...cake and lots of crafty chat kind of a day.
See you all tomorrow

"12 Tags of 2014"...October

Hi folks...time to share this month's tag for "12 Tags of 2014" and another DT Project for Inspiration Journal...

I didn't have the set of stamps featuring the pumpkin or that creepy spider...yes you've guessed...it was another adapt and overcome crafting session but hey it wouldn't be half as much fun without "what is becoming a cubbyhole tradition" a good old root around in the Timmie Stash pile...it sure makes for a fun thinking out of the box afternoon...

I'm well and truly addicted to the new Spray Stains but thank goodness for Tim's scrubbie...an essential piece of kit to get this messy old crafter back to looking remotely human again...right now I'm a cross between The Incredible Hulk...the Jolly Green Giant and a tubby 5'2" pumpkin so time for a luxurious soak and scrub down in a hot tub.
See you all tomorrow
