The wallboards are up...we have a working toilet...sink and bath but what use is a shower cubicle without a door...apparently it's still a scribble on a scrap of paper along with the heated towel rail...lighting and flooring. And it's my fault...after pondering over catalogues night after night and choosing said items...I didn't actually say ORDER THEM...so he didn't.
And just to add a bit of spice to the mix...the kitchen is scheduled for a make-over starting next Monday but for the Momma of all DIY jobs I've employed the skills of a super duper Project Manager...yes MOI...we all know what DIY stands for...so the motto here is if you want a job done...DO IT YOURSELF...the plasterer is booked but I'm still waiting to hear back from the joiner...the doors...new framing... skirting boards...flooring and tiles need to be ordered and I've got a reputation to maintain so better get busy with the steamer...the old wallpaper and tiles need to come off before magic things can happen. No prizes for guessing that the blog posting may be a bit erratic for the foreseeable future...who knows I may be on every day telling you how well things are coming along or worst case scenario...sitting in a corner of the cubbyhole sucking my thumb and waiting for the men in white coats to arrive.
I did manage to make some cards with the gorgeous new Bubble Bloom stamps from Craftwork Cards before the DIY bedlam arrived to turn the cubbyhole crew into screaming banshees and will be sharing later in the week...in the meantime some little sneaky peeks.
and a chance for you to win a great big bundle of pink floral deliciousness from The Ribbon Girl Blog...brand new goodies and aren't they divine...
All you need to do is pop over to The Ribbon Girl Blog before Sunday 20th April for details on how to enter

ReplyDeleteMy heart sank when I read your post - we are now 8 weeks in to our new dining room and bathroom and still have no working loo downstairs (although we have had a flood!). Reached the end of my tether too........but hope your kitchen change is much easier.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sneaky peeks! Hugs, Anne x
One project is enough never mind two. Hope all is done quickly and you can get back to normal. Bet Buddy is staying clear of all this mess.

oh Kath - this is terrible news - hope there's progress soon! Glad you've still got buddy and the cubbyhole for comfort xx
ReplyDeleteOh how I feel for you Kath. We got our bathroom done last year and lots of things got overlooked there too, then last week we had the kitchen done and I'm still on the hunt for things yet. Love your bubble balloons. Hugs Rita xx
ReplyDeleteHi Kath & Buddy, Well I can certainly say 'Been there, done that and got the T-shirt'! We had our kitchen and bathroom (only bathroom) gutted a couple of years ago at the same time ~ we had no choice as the work was interlinked ~ if it hadn't been for the truly wonderful team of people working on the project (special mention to Richard Hall my fabulous and possibly the best builder/carpenter joiner in the world) I would have gone insane!! It was totally worth it though and I now look back and laugh at moments like my hubby showering in our little doggy shower in the utility room ~ lol. Good luck ~ we will be thinking of you. Hugs Bev, Bailey, Majik & Sorrell Bearies xx
ReplyDeleteOh poor you Kath, I would be running for the hills (or propelling my chair v v fast in the opposite direction, lol, I should say!). Mind you, with yourself as PM I'm sure it will all be fine, I always have to be PM too!! Loving sneak peaks of these stamps, have been working with them too, keep the faith, it will all be worth it in the end..... Extra big hug Mars xxx
ReplyDeleteSounds like it's been a lot of fun in your house this week Kath. That's men for you though isn't it, no initiative. At least the kitchen makeover will go well if you're taking charge of it.
ReplyDeleteKat xx
I know what DIY means in our house Kath - destroy it yourself! Had a man in to do our kitchen a few months ago. Three weeks of hell - wall down, completely redesigned - BUT I now have a wonderful kitchen and the range oven of my dreams, so just hang in there and hide yourself away and do something crafty - just so long as you don't need electricity...X
