the YES camp led by the brimming with confidence but evasive on some issues Mr Salmond...
the NO camp with their ridiculous "better together" scaremongering tactics...
David Cameron and the UK Government who have suddenly noticed we're here and are falling over themselves to keep us or is it the billions of pounds of oil revenue they want to keep...
or the financial institutions who are high tailing it over the border...apparently concerned about the bottom falling out of OUR pension pots (excuse me but didn't that happen some years ago at the hands of my fellow countrymen...Gordon Brown and the scumbags at RBS)...
By this time tomorrow...we'll either all be dressed in our kilts...rampaging to the border to raise the Saltire and fortify the defences at Hadrians Wall...
or for many the life long dream of Scottish Independence will lie in tatters. But whatever way the vote goes...the people of Scotland will rise to the challenges that lie ahead...we have a long history of overcoming adversity...are fiercely proud of this wonderful country and passionate about our Scottish heritage.
On a lighter note the cubbyhole crew have been pondering for weeks over "some may say" an equally important decision...
Do we store these little beauties in SET ORDER or in COLOUR FAMILIES...perhaps a cuppa will help...

Kathy, it's hard to imagine having to make the choice you are facing. I pray that whatever side prevails, Scotland and it's people have a bright and peaceful future.

ReplyDeleteI live in Australia now so don't have all the facts but hopefully you do . Do the Scots have enough money to set up their own health service-aged pensions - currency ,I'm guessing you would not be able to have the Euro .

thinking of you Kath and this historic day (no matter the outcome). I suspect that both sides have some truth, lies and exaggerations. God be with the Scottish people as they take this heavy matter to the polls.

A big day indeed... David Cameron is probably wishing right now that he had agreed to the proposed third option for the referendum: more autonomy for Scotland if it stays in the UK. The English politicians do seem to be getting nervous after they realised this referendum is not a run race in favour of the UK. But as you say there are pros and cons for Scottish indepence and they are probably not as clear cut as the politicians present them. I guess we'll know the outcome soon enogh...

ReplyDeleteIn all honestly, I'm dreading the outcome either way... On an emotional level I want more than anything for the vote to be "yes", but things will likely get very difficult for a decade or so if the vote goes the "no" way.
ReplyDeleteI may not live in Scotland myself at the moment (though we've been talking about moving back), but my family all do.
So I am very much on the fence too...

This is a major decision for your country. No one knows the future so it is a hard choice to make. As for the inks - they are so gorgeous that I don't think it matters. You can still see them in their cases no matter which way you go.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about you all day whilst I have been out and about... I really do not envy any of you, it is such a difficult decision, for you and for my other friends and my Dad's family who live in Scotland. I hope it is an outcome that everyone can get behind.
