Spring Flowers...Day 4

Hi folks...it's the last day of me sharing my "Spring Flowers" adventure and I'm going out with an experimental bang with something beyond ordinary. I couldn't help wondering if these gorgeous stamps would work for something a little bit more grungy and vintage and there was only one way to find out. So I dug into my stash of patterned papers and went to town.
The background paper is from the Prima's Timeless Memories 12x12 Pad but it was very dark and grungy...so I randomly painted on a light coat of white gesso...stamped the PaperArtsy Brick Mini in Black Archival and applied a coat of Ranger Collage Medium Crazing.  Once it was dry I randomly scribbled over with Vintage Photo and Picket Fence Distress Crayons blending them in with my finger to bring in some colour.
I stamped the flower and leaf images with Black Archival directly on to the background and then on to text and lighter coloured papers...cut them out and coloured part of the leaves with Distress Markers...Twisted Citron and some of the flowers with Fossilized Amber using a water brush. The white flowers were coloured with the Signo Uni-ball White Pen.
I stamped the circle icon with Black Archival and filled in the centres with the Signo White Pen and added some highlights around the bricks.
I added Big Chat Stickers again highlighting with the Signo Pen around the edges.
This time I used papers from the Prima Everyday Vintage Love Letter Kit.
I stamped the flowers and stem with Black Archival on to the butterfly background paper...stamped the flowers again twice on to the script paper...cut out...coloured the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and fixed with 3D foam to create some dimension.

I added stickers from the kit...Idea-ology Tissue Tape...faux stitching and lots of splatters with Picket Fence Distress Paint...

Have a great weekend everyone...I'll see you all on Monday with a brand new project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge...
Toodle-oo for now

  4. Good Morning, Kath,
Wow...you've left the best to last! What fun you've been having with these wonderful stamps over the week. I went to have a look over at Simon Says Stamps (as I haven't managed to find anyone selling them here in the UK) and I found that the postage was the same price as the stamp set! However, it said that was a set price so I'm thinking it may well be worth my saving up for the stamp and die set because, in my addled brain, it makes more sense to spend a bit more and get the matching die - as I'm terrible at cutting out - and still only pay the set postage. It will take me longer to get the set but I'm thinking it might be worth it so that I can have a great time playing when I finally get them.
Have a wonderful weekend, I hope mother nature is kind to you...right now she's given me a VERY muggy morning with a dark grey sky. I've got my fingers crossed for a short, sharp storm to clear the air lol.

  6. Love how you have grunged up these cards, I have lots of dark vintage papers ,unloved at the moment so you have given me great inspiration of what to try with them, thank you. I love the brick stencil with the crazing too, fab contrasts of light and dark on these pieces too.
