and the theme for this week is...
MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND
it's the first Monday of the month when the Design Team showcase one company/designer and I'm thrilled that we are using Dyan Revealey's fabulous range of Dylusions products. And we are also welcoming a new Guest Designer for March...the lovely and very talented Linda Kunsman aka Heartfully Inspired who will be sharing her fabulous projects with us all.
For my project I decided to get all painty and inky decorating the pages of my Dylusions Small Creative Journal...
I started off by brayering a light patchy coat of Dylusions London Blue paint on to the pages...
sprayed with Fresh Lime Ink Spray through the Letters Jumble Stencil...turned the stencil over and pressed it down to use up the little bit of ink spray on the reverse...
I applied Black Soot Distress Ink through the Luscious Leaves stencil around the edges of the page which gave me the softer look I was aiming for rather than a deep black using paint or gesso.
then it was time for my Misti magic trick...stamping one of the images from Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Flower Garden and a butterfly from Flutter on to Plain Tissue Wrap with Black Archival.
I then painted the images with Dylusions Fresh Lime/Funky Fuschia and Melted Chocolate Ink Sprays..the ink did bleed through the Tissue Wrap on to the surface of the Misti and spread over the back of the tissue wrap and on reflection I should have placed paper underneath to absorb the excess but hey,,,I was cutting out the images so it wasn't a problem.I brayered a little bit of Dylusions London Blue paint on to one the Dylusions Creative Dyary Stick-Its to tie in with the colour on the background...
stamped the word "Dream" from Dylusions Word Love stamp set on to Plain Tissue Wrap with Black Archival...cut it out
and fixed everything down with Ranger Collage Medium Matte...
added one of the Dylusions Creative Dyary stickers to the Stick It label and a hint of pink to the background by dabbing Dylusions Bubblegum Pink paint on to Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Half Tone with my fingers...
and finished off by adding white highlights to the leaf border...arrows...word...flower and butterfly using Dylusions White Paint Pen...
and a Creative Dyary Clip to the top of the page...
Why don't you pop over to the Monday Challenge Blog and check out the amazing creations from my very talented Design Team mates and as always you all have the chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time...1pm UK time...2 pm CET to join in...
