It's A Dad's Day Card...

Hi folks...it's Friday, the end of a busy week and the Furry Boy has finished his Father's Day card for Sunday with a little bit of help from the other half of the cubbyhole crew. The DAD in question doesn't read this blog so no worries about sharing and if, you're wondering about the theme, Dad used to work with the local Electricity Board before he retired and became a fully paid up member of the Couch Potato Club.

I (or should I say, we) started off by trimming a panel of Silver Metallic Kraft Stock, embossed with the amazing Foundry 3D Texture Fade, painted with Black Soot and Tea Dye Distress Paints and wiped back with a dry cloth. Then I stamped the script image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Black Soot Distress Archival Ink.
I embossed a second panel and cut out some of the areas to 3D on to the card later.
I stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Inventor 2 with Black Soot Archival on to a panel die cut from Idea-ology Textile Surfaces using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stitched Rectangles Thinlits.
I added a strip torn from a pack of Fuse Wire I found in an old tool box in the garage, donkey years old by the look of it, purchased from Woolworths back in the day for the princely sum of 17p.
wound the wire around the panel and fixed in place with staples.
I die cut the smaller of the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alterations Rosettes from white card coloured with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink and the circle from a scrap of the embossed Metallic Kraft Stock and decorated with Idea-ology Special Delivery Remnant Rubs.
I painted an Idea-ology Numeric Finding with Candied Apple Distress Paint and die cut 3 layers for the word DAD using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thinlits.

I added Idea-ology Nailhead Findings and the extra embossed pieces.
and an old fuse I found after a further rummage in the bottomless pit toolbox.
All done and dusted
and time for a certain "tuckered-out" someone to take a nap.
Have a great weekend, whatever you're planning and I'll see you all Monday with my DT project for a brand new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. But you still have time to join in with this week's Anything But A Card challenge with the chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend in Simon Says Online Store.

  3. Absolutely fabulous, I just love the whole theme of the card, and so perfect for the 'Dad' who worked for the Electricity Board! The packaging and fuse were a genius idea and the stamp is just so perfect too. An amazing card and I cannot see a trace of dog hair anywhere, Buddy sure does have a light touch with the glue - lol!
