Simon Says...Food And/Or Drink

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
FOOD AND/OR DRINK
I intended making a card for a friend who is rather partial to a cocktail or two but couldn't decide which images to use from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cocktail/Wine Blueprints and a card was not going to be big enough to accommodate all the Snarky Small Talk Stickers that apply to my friend, so it ended up a birthday book rather than a card

I scored and folded 3 pieces of Heavy Media Cardstock to measure 5.1/2" , 5.1/4" and 5" square so that the pages will sit nicely inside each other and allowing for the addition of a fastening on the outside cover of the card. I coloured the pages with Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides using the "smooshing, drying, spritzing and tapping to pick up the left over drops" technique that I'm sure you are all familiar with by now and I love how they are all different.
I set them aside to dry and stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cocktail and Wine Blueprints on to Distress Watercolor card with Black Soot Archival and coloured with Distress Oxide Re-inkers and a Distress Waterbrush.
I fussy cut the images and used them to work out what was going where on the pages. I then stamped the images on the pages using Black Soot Archival.
I re-stamped the images on to Distress Watercolor card, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Deckles Thinlits, inked the edges with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide, fixed over the original stamped images and added the cut out images and words. I applied Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide through the Splatters Mini Layering Stencil from Set 3 to the background using a mini round blending tool.
I repeated the process with White Gesso using the Splotches Mini Layering Stencil from Set 9, sprinkled with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I stamped different sized numbers randomly on the pages using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Merchant inked with Black Soot Archival,, Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides.
I held the pages together with clips to make sure that the scored and folded lines would stay in place, pricked holes using Tim Holtz Craft Pick and Design Ruler and hand stitched.
I stamped one of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ornate Trims with Black Soot Archival randomly on the background and around the edges of the pages. And oh boy, it was a bit of a novelty using an acrylic block again. They have definitely been made redundant since the arrival of the  amazing Stamp Platform but with some many pages to stamp, on this occasion, it was a speedier option.
I added Idea-ology Snarky Small Talk Stickers and fixed a piece of Idea-ology Lace Findings under each one using Distress Collage Medium Matte./
If you've got this far and are feeling a bit weary, believe me, so was I by this point but bear with me, we are almost done. I die cut words from black and white cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Handwritten Celebrate and Handwritten Love Thinlits and attached to the pages and the cover.

I added an Electic Elements Thread bow and an Idea-ology Heart Charm
and then realised I should have applied Glossy Accents to the cocktails, wine glass and bottle BEFORE I put the pages together...another of those spectacular "note to self" moments.

I finished off by punching holes in the cover using a Cropadile, die cut reinforcers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tag and Bookplates Bigz die and threaded through black ribbon from my stash to create a tie.
