Simon Says Stamp DieCember Blog Hop - Day 2

Hi my friends, I'm thrilled to be joining so many talented makers on Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp DieCember Blog Hop and I'm excited to welcome you to my stop on the hop. You should have arrived from Preeti Chandran's Blog but if you got lost or would like to start at the beginning of the hop, head over to Simon Says Stamp Blog HERE. DieCember is a month long celebration of die-cutting with special features, sales and loads of inspiration and you can check out all the amazing dies in the DieCember release HERE. Did I mention how excited I am that you're here and I can't wait to share the card I made with the DieCember release but first I have some news to share with you.

If you make a purchase during the blog hop you can use the code JINGLE to pop a FREE American Crafts Christmas Tag Kit into your cart. The promotion will expire on 4 December at 11.59pm EST.
Simon Says Stamp are giving away a $25 coupon at every stop on the blog hop from the blog comments section so be sure you leave a comment below for your chance to win. The winners will be announced on the Simon Says Stamp Blog on Wednesday 9th December.
Do you know that Simon Says Stamp has card/project galleries for each of their releases and card kits and also a video gallery. There is so much inspiration to see and I encourage you to check them out and add your own cards and projects to Simon's Brand Gallery and the new DieCember Gallery.

Now it's time to share the card I created with the Simple Stem and CZ Design Hello dies from the DieCember release, the Neighborhood die, Slimline Christmas Sentiment Strips and 3 of my favourite Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks, Rustic Wilderness, Speckled Egg and Old Paper.

I trimmed Distress White HeavyStock to 4" x 6", die cut the Simple Stem 3 times from masking paper and fixed on the card panel. Because the technique I was using involved lots of ink and water, I placed copy paper over the panel and used a brayer to ensure the masks were well stuck down. I smooshed Speckled Egg, Old Paper and Rustic Wilderness on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I laid the panel into the inks and dried. I repeatedly tapped the panel back into the remaining droplets, drying between layers. I cleaned off my craft mat and repeated the process with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide. I added Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink randomly on the panel and around the edges using a mini round blending tool and removed the masks.
I coloured a scrap of white card in the same way using the same colours and once dry, applied Distress Collage Medium Matte with my finger and dusted with Distress Rock Candy Glitter. I die-cut the CZ Design Hello shadow from white card and the word die 4 times from white card and once from the glittered card. I layered the die-cuts using Distress Collage Medium to create dimension and fixed to the shadow die-cut.
I added splatters of Distress Picket Fence paint and fixed the word die-cut in place with strips of Sizzix Foam Adhesive. I die-cut the Neighborhood die, trimmed off the house and trees and coloured with Rustic Wilderness and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks using a mini round blending tool and added to the panel. I trimmed the word Christmas from one of the Slimline Christmas Sentiment Strips and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
To finish, I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank

Now it's time for you to hop over and visit the talented Kim Hamilton's Blog to see the magic she has created with the DieCember release and if you missed Day 1 of the Blog Hop, you can check out loads more inspiration HERE.
