Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the Bundled Up embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp Warmest Wishes December 2024 but giving it a bit of a twist with different colours for the blackout technique and adding the adorable Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie, die-cut using the co-ordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp.
I embossed an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Bundled Up embossing folder and coloured the detail on the debossed side of the panel with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and a Detailer Waterbrush. This is a quick and easy "you don't have to stay within the lines" technique and I tried to leave the pom poms and cuffs on the hats and mittens white.I dragged my Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink pad over the panel repeatedly until I was happy with the coverage.I die-cut a circle aperture and die-cut a frame from Distress Watercolor card using the same circle die and one slightly smaller. I coloured Distress Watercolor card to fit behind the aperture with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and stamped the snowflakes from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie with the same ink to create a tone on tone effect. At this stage, I could have created a shaker card but on this occasion chose not to.I stamped the adorable Mr Frostie on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and coloured using Saltwater Taffy and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks and a Detailer Waterbrush.I die-cut using the Mr Frostie co-ordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp and fussy cut the nose. Don't be discouraged if you don't have these dies, all the pieces for Mr Frostie are easy to fussy cut.I inked the sentiment stamp from Simon Says Warmest Wishes stamp set with Versamark ink, stamped on to a strip of Distress Black HeavyStock, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder, heat set and trimmed to separate the words.I fixed Mr Frostie in place, popped up on 3D foam squares to create dimension and the sentiment in place with Distress Collage Medium. I inked the snowflakes with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, stamped to scraps of Distress Watercolor, die-cut using the co-ordinating dies and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I coloured the centres of the snowflakes with a Sakura Black Glaze Pen. To finish, I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4", fixed to an A2 panel of Distress Black HeavyStock and matted on to an A2 white card blank.I'll be back tomorrow to share another card made with the Warmest Wishes December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you're making.
