Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge - August

Hi folks...can't quite believe we're halfway through August already...the third Sunday of the month means it's time to join The Ribbon Girls for this month's Colour Challenge which is...
PINK
and can't believe either that this "thinks she's organised" crafter had the challenge marked on her calendar and desk planner for next Sunday...another skidding in by the seat of my pants last minute late night crafting project...
I decided to decorate a cheap as chips fibreboard box with some papers that were hanging around in the cubbyhole...too lazy to file them away and make a cute storage box for my Ribbon Girl Roses...

as always there are two fabulous prizes for one lucky winner
 and The Ribbon Girl

Why don't you pop over to The Ribbon Girls and check out the gorgeous makes from my team mates and if the weather is as miserable with you as it is here...head to your craftroom for some PINK creative fun.
Toodle-oo for now

Edited to add: oops...the sun's out and it's going to be a beautiful day

It's a glamorous life...

Hi folks...I do LOVE this crazy crafty job and it's fun most of the time (ignore the current moaning minnie kitting grumbles) but I bet you had no idea how glamorous it gets on occasions...especially when me and my furry cubbyhole mate set out on a foraging expedition to the darkest depths of a creepy forest...on a particularly wet chucking it down rainy morning...
in pursuit of some "Christmas Retreat project" pine cones...
and of course these elusive little devils are always tucked away deep in the tangled undergrowth requiring a down on your hands and knees recovery operation. It looks like soaking wet knees along with painty hands and mucky nails are all part and parcel of this "glamorous career" choice...perhaps I should have read the small print on the job description more carefully. And folks who sneak off work on Fridays find themselves playing catch-up on Saturdays so it's time to put the kettle on...jump back on the production line and get the kitting for Project 5 underway....not complaining...just saying.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you plan on doing.

Happy Happy Friday...

Hi folks...a whole week of glorious sunshine...that must be a record and crikey before we know it's Friday already and it's raining but nothing can dampen our spirits...here in the cubbyhole it's Happy Happy Friday...another kitting job is ticked off the list...
time for a little sneaky peek...out of the all the projects I've made for The Retreat...this is my absolute favourite...could it have anything to do with my obsession for the gorgeous Cone Flower from Tim's beautiful "Flower Garden" stamp set...
and Fridays don't get much better than when happy mail parcels arrive...an extra special thank you to Tim and Mario for my "12 Tags" prize and I couldn't resist adding a few more bits and pieces to this month's shopping list...guess who's on a mission to nail that wish list.
is it another day on the kitting conveyor belt...DEFINITELY NOT...
a Halloween Spooky/Christmas play day perhaps...SADLY NOT...
it's a "deserting the cubbyhole after a busy week" kick up my heels day with the Friday Girls who also happen to be on a wish list mission but their spending sprees are all about CLOTHES...HANDBAGS AND SHOES...it sure would be a funny old world if we were all the same.

Blah di blah di blah...

Hi folks...I'm still stuck on the kitting hamster wheel so today's post is the usual "nothing to report" blah di blah di blah...no crafty makes to share...no earth shattering news...unless you count the return of Summer to my neck of the woods...not exactly blistering temperatures and there has been the odd rain shower but hey beggars can't be choosers and one individual is definitely enjoying the sunshine...
can't say I'm confident of a bumper crop of bright shiny red cherry tomatoes but you never know miracles can happen...the hydrangea and clematis have finally flowered although they're not looking their usual "covered with huge blossoms" selves either...

and at the first blink of the sun...the cubbyhole's deserted...the resident canine has been sneaking out for a snooze in the sun while his Mum enjoys more than her fair share of extended coffee breaks...
before being dragged kicking and screaming back to die-cutting conveyor belt...
See you all tomorrow

A "Works For Me" Time Saver...

Hi folks...I've been back on the kitting hamster wheel again...Project 2 for The Retreat has been ticked off the list...
and the kits are done and dusted...
looks like there's going to be a great big "Kitting In Progress" sign hung on the cubbyhole door for the next couple of weeks. I don't know if I've shared this crafty tip with you before but it's a great time saver for me when there's lots of die-cutting to do...not sure if Sizzix would recommend this but it works for me and so far no dies have been harmed by using this quick fix. I used to get frustrated having to stop every so often and clear out the debris that gets pushed down into the die between the blade and the foam...now I cover all my Workshop BigZ Dies with a layer of parcel tape...the wide shiny brown sellotape type stuff and then run them through the Big Shot.
the surface of the die is now slippery and slick which means the die cut will release effortlessly and works particularly well if you are using an intricate die and cutting lots of layers at a time.
I wish I could come up with a magic solution to get rid of the debris on the floor but I'm afraid it's going to be another down on my hands and knees job this morning with Mr Dyson to get rid of every last little bit before we mess it all up again today with Project 3.
See you all tomorrow

"12 Tags of 2015" - August

Hi folks...it's hard to believe this is Tag No 8 and that we're already three-quarters of the way through "12 Tags of 2015"...I love the layered collage look that Tim created this month
and pretty much followed the techniques apart from using different colours of Distress Inks for my background
and I couldn't resist taking off on an entirely different flight path adventure with my Crazy Bird friend...isn't she adorable and you have to ask the question..."WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HAT " - from the fabulous Crazy Things Stamp Set of course...all the accessories that a well dressed Crazy Bird would ever need.
This is also my first August DT project for Inspiration Emporium and if you haven't got your hands on the Bird Crazy Stamps and Die-Cut sets yet...what in heavens name are you waiting for...just click on the link below and before you know...they'll be flying through YOUR letter box too.
And if you use my code "allthatglitter" when you check out...you'll receive 10% discount off your order...shipping is pretty cool too...$5 to the US and $10 International.
