A big thank you to my lovely buddy Polly who e-mailed this gorgeous card to cheer me up...
But hey can you believe how close the big day is now...the cubbyhole crew are definitely getting in the Christmas Jingle Bells groove...there's nothing like a sing-a-long with the gorgeous Mr Buble to make those Christmas preparations go with a swing...the Furry Boy doesn't seem to appreciate my attempts at harmonising...I wonder why!! and you'll be relieved to know that we're giving the dancing a bit of a miss for the time being.
The christmas cards are written and ready to run the gauntlet of that dreaded slot at the Post Office...am I going to repeat last year's 3D foam mistake...will they be just that teeny weeny bit too chubby to slip through requiring a visit to the bank manager with a loan application to cover the postage costs and you may need to sit down and hang onto your galluses because this "last minute annie" has finally embraced technology and done most of her Christmas shopping online at Amazon...wow how easy peasy was that...gifts galore have arrived...all I need are a few bits and pieces...some wrapping paper and this may well be a Guinness Book of Records Christmas for sure. I've had years of practice at the "last minute headless chicken" kind of Christmases and after all's said and done it always works out OK on the day...so for goodness sake...
Time to share a simple Christmas card...not bad for my first attempt at one handed crafting...
getting in some practice for today's attempt at making my DT card for December's Penny Black Saturday Challenge.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Hi Kath, i knew being one handed would not stop you crafting. Gorgeous card today also the one sent to aid your recovery is lovely. It is funny how aches and pains appear the next day as you are not aware that you hurt other parts of the body, happens as we get on in years.

WOW beautiful card I love the snowflake and the card sent to you is gorgeous. Caroline xxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love that snowflake and how you cut it from the larger piece and used the reverse image I think! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTake care after that fall. Your muscles had a good tightening I think from the impact...I suspect you will be a bit "run over by a truck" feeling for a few days. (Speaking from experience as I have had some spectacular falls too.)
Hugs
Scrappymo!
Glad your hand is feeling a bit better Katharine! Your card is just fab wish I could make something like that with 2 hands lol! Humph don't mention the post office to me I posted a card to a friend who lives 5 miles away last Thursday. It cost 90p...yes a lot of layers - to send first class and she got it Tuesday! Would have been a lot quicker to walk round with it. Susan x
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, lovely card and glad to hear the hand feels a lot better. The body might take a few days to catch up, take care....Trish
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, I think a nice hot bath might be the order of the day for you later! Glad to hear the swelling has gone done and the card your friend sent is gorgeous. Love your Christmas card - can't keep a good woman down - I recognise that die and what a great way to use it too. Love all the bling of course. Post Office? I won't get on my soap box......... Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your poor wrist is healing up Kath. I bet your body took a shake when you went down too. What a lovely get well card from your friend. I love your one-handed card and only you could have made it look so pretty. Take Care, easy does it. Hugs Rita xx
ReplyDeleteDon't overdo it Kath - glad to hear there is progress with your wrist & impressive one-handed crafting. Your tangled tinsel quote is perfect for a Zentangle challenge I'm setting so hope it's OK to borrow that with acknowledgement (only let me know if it's not as I don't want to necessitate extra typing). Take care & allow the body to rest - those unexpected tumbles take their toll & you are very human - you wouldn't have such an encouraging blog if you weren't. Now don't take offence Buddy............ here's a hug for each of you.

Kath I am glad that you are feeling better. Your one-handed crafting is pretty dang amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving your first one-handed card Kath. Beautiful colour.
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated how many people hate the Post Office. Speaking as someone who's unlucky enough to work in one all I would say is most people are really nice but there's always one (or more) who are not at all nice!! In fact downright rude and unpleasant. I never cease to be amazed how many people get what they want and leave without a word.
Kat xx
Lovely card, glad to hear your wrict is feeling much better. HUgs x ChrisB
