All At Sea...

Hi folks...I've been back playing with the new releases from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous and today I'm sharing cards I made with the Sea Life stamp set which is shipping now to a craft store near you.
On the first card I created texture using Mini Layering Stencil Set 26 and Distress Grit Paste and coloured the card with Distress Crayons. I stamped the fish with Black Archival and the spirals from "Scribbles and Spirals" with Fern GreenArchival. I stamped the crab on to Distress Watercolor Card and coloured with Distress Inks.

and as a complete contrast...I used Distress Oxide inks for the second card involving much layering of colour/water spritzing and drying between the layers...finishing with a light spritz of Distress Brushed Pewter Mica Spray for good measure...

I have totally fallen in love with the Octopus from this set but my trusty Fiskars fussy cutting scissors were not so happy...they finally met their match and were all at sea when it came to cutting around all those tentacles. I normally keep well away from anything knife-like with a very sharp blade...I have a history of cuts...nicks and many years ago almost amputating my thumb but I decided to confront my demons and try out this new kit from Fiskars...
and it did a great job...one happy octupus and one happy me with all tentacles and fingers intact...it's very comfortable to hold and I love that it has it's own case for storage and can be safely kept out of the way of little fingers.
It's been a week of contrasts so far...on Monday I was pottering around in the garden with Tim and Dyan...yesterday I was deep sea diving with the creatures of the ocean...today I'm donning my welly boots and heading down "On The Farm".
Have fun whatever you have planned
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
